474 Warfare (2)
With two powerful slashes toward his sides, Dilan’s surrounding were reduced to a pile of rubble.
Two deep blade marks were carved into the ground, creating deep ravines.
Feeling the power that surged through his body, Dilan’s bright smile turned even more devilish.
He controlled the power that circulated through his body with the intent of pure destruction and slashed forward with both the Blessed Blade and the Cursed Dagger.
The two weapons were vibrating with a force that was strong enough to force Dilan to focus on them as a powerful shockwave was released in the direction he slashed.
Terrific bolts of lightning and strong air currents accompanied the shockwaves that were empowered by the Intent of Destruction.
The Chaos Monsters that were charging at Dilan noticed that something was wrong, but their wild instincts were not fast enough to protect their lives.
With all their might the Chaos Monsters tried to move away from the semi-translucent attacks that were about to rip them apart but their bodies didn’t want to listen to their brain.
They were too slow and their mind realized this no sooner as the Destruction Slashes cut into their skin.
Their skin was not durable enough to protect them and their flesh, muscles, and bones had to suffer as they were cut apart without much resistance.
Dilan felt ecstatic and he didn’t hesitate to simply slash the Blessed Blade and the Cursed Dagger all around him.
At first glance, it might have looked like he was slashing through empty air like a freak, but the reality was different.
Rory had yet to move and she could clearly witness the situation that occurred in front of her.
‘That is not a slash created with mana, not purely, at least. Did he comprehend a weapon intent and a Cosmic power…already??’ Rory wondered when she saw how the ‘shockwaves’ transformed into something different, something that was empowered by the Power of Destruction, the power of an Intermediate Lightning Spirit and Dilan’s comprehension of Green Magic.
The shockwave was more compressed now and it turned into a dark-violet-colored beam that was intertwined with green and bright violet strands.
The blade beams cut through all the opponents in Dilan’s way, and nobody was able to block them.
For a brief period of time, Dilan felt invincible as he shot through the rows of opponents, using the Destruction Slashes to kill all his opponents without the use of much mana.
He required less than a third of mana than a Mana Slash with slightly inferior power would consume. This made Dilan ponder whether it was worth spending Ability Merits on enhancing his [Mana Slash], or if he should put his points to better use.
His heart began to race and his devilish smile would have widened further if that would have been possible. However, evidently enough, he was already ecstatic as he turned into a slaughtering machine, killing hundreds of opponents left and right, and cutting everyone into several pieces. He was giving his all, and mercilessly destroying his opponents’ Swirls of Chaos with the Power of Destruction he had comprehended.
His blades were not even close to his opponents but they died like the tiny ants they were. Nobody could survive in front of Dilan’s power, and even Rory began to stare at the tiny human in terror.
‘He didn’t even advance to the third Tier but has already attained such strength…is he a Mythical Creature?…No, he should be human…or is he not?’
Rory was not even sure who or what she had been bound to. The Soul Imprint that Dilan had engraved on her told Rory that Dilan was human, but at the same time, it told her that Dilan was different from ordinary humans.
This could have too many meanings, and she didn’t really want to know the truth…not right now, at least.
There were too many things she was curious about, but she feared that finding out the truth would devastate her more than anything else. After all, Dilan was far from normal. He could be considered the most terrifying anomaly Rory had ever encountered…and that meant a lot because Rory was already a unique existence amongst Red Dragons.
“Engage in combat!!” Sven shouted all of a sudden the moment he had gotten back to his senses. The hundreds of corpses that were littered all over the grounds were a shocking sight but the Ascenders following Dilan were not afraid.
On the contrary, their hearts were palpitating wildly because Dilan was on their side and because he showcased an even stronger combat prowess than the last time they had seen him fight.
He could obliterate all kinds of Tier-3 existences with a single slash and his kill count easily crossed thousands within seconds. His speed was extremely terrifying, and Dilan didn’t show any intentions of slowing down.
On the contrary, it looked like Dilan’s speed increased because he kept using the combination of [Bearer of Pain] and [Bracing Pain] to refill his Mana with the use of Lifeforce, and to increase his stats further. The higher his Mana stat the faster his mana would replenish.
This was even more evident in his Health which gave him the opportunity to fight easily against high numbers using his Mana which was near infinite as long as he used it efficiently enough.
The other Ascenders prepared for battle and unsheathed their weapons. They activated their abilities and used their special traits to increase their stats before emerging in front of their opponents.
Thousands of Summoned monsters appeared out of thin air, elemental long-range attacks were prepared and the surrounding area began to overflow with chaotic mana. It was created from the instability of the mana that was being used at the same time.
Millions of Chaos Monsters were trying to engage in a battle at the same time, but there were only a few thousand Ascenders. Their number was far from enough to face all Chaos Monsters.
However, the situation changed instantly, the moment Rory joined the battle. Her dragon breath swept over the battlefield, eradicating the lives of those who were engulfed by the blazing flames of the Red Dragon.
Within seconds, tens of thousands of Chaos Monsters died while their desperate and panicked cries that were filled with unbearable pain echoed through the surroundings. The smell of iron and burned flesh filled the air and the aura of death spread through the battlefield.
Dilan looked over to Yvonne for a moment and seeing her smile like a madwoman gave him the chills.
‘Looks like her Origin ability influences her much more than expected…but that is not necessarily bad from the looks of it, I guess,’ He thought while continuing to stare at her and the masses of darkness that enveloped her like a dress.
She was dancing through the rows of monsters, reaping the souls of her enemies and the small army of Undeads that followed her was doing exactly the same.
Right now, Yvonne possessed the power to control more than ten Undeads with the same prowess as Peak Tier-2 Monsters, however, that was not everything she could do.
It was also possible for her to enhance the strength of her Undeads using several abilities. Furthermore, Yvonne could make use of the surrounding Death energy to empower her own strength, the strength of her Undeads, and increase the potency of the [Angel of Death] Origin ability.
The denser and more potent the Death energy on the battlefield, the stronger Yvonne would become. This was something Dilan had been aware of before, but he had actually forgotten about this.
However, it was not as if this was a bad turn of events. On the contrary, it was a very pleasant twist and something he could make use of.
But for now, Dilan thought more about something entirely different, and his gaze moved over to the Chaos Islands.
