Undead Mage from a Cell
Chapter 1264 - 1262: Red Armor of the Undead
Chapter 1264: Chapter 1262: Red Armor of the Undead
"Did you really feel before that I wasn’t like a human being?"
In the elevator, Gu Xi suddenly asked.
Tang Shuang shook her head. "Most Players who just came out of the game are like this. After resting for a day or two, they’re fine.
Don’t keep staring at the game all the time. There are plenty of different views outside the game.
Life is actually very long.
You’re just way too anxious.
Look at you, you’ve only graduated for two and a half years, and you’ve already rushed up to Level 11.
At this rate, in a few more years you’ll probably go straight past Level 20.
Are you trying to race against time or something?
You do know that after Level 10, your Life is a full seven hundred years.
You really don’t need to rush that much."
Speaking of this, Tang Shuang couldn’t help reaching out to press lightly between Gu Xi’s brows.
"There are still many things outside of games waiting for you in this world. Relax a little."
Slowly, Tang Shuang’s hand gently pressed between Gu Xi’s brows.
"Don’t be so anxious."
"Got it."
Gu Xi’s body grew softer and softer, as if he had shed a heavy shell, and his whole person became much more relaxed.
Right then, the elevator reached the 41st floor. As the elevator doors opened, Gu Xi stepped out with a relaxed smile on his face, as if he were a different person.
There were five units on each floor in this building, and Gu Xi’s apartment was at the far east end.
The front door of the apartment wasn’t actually that big, but once you pushed it open, you could see an interior that was quite different.
The whole apartment was divided into three levels. The first level had the entrance hall, dining room, kitchen, living room, a small bathroom, and a large floor-to-ceiling window.
Out through the floor-to-ceiling window, there was a small upper terrace.
This small terrace was the extra part from the split-level layout.
It had originally been a tricky area to deal with.
Now this section had been separated out by certain means, and they’d even put in a sunshade umbrella and a small table and chairs. Normally you could sit here to bask in the sun or in the moonlight or whatever.
The second floor was the study and a rest room. The study was for Gu Xi, and the rest room was reserved as a Preparation room for the Contracted Undead who would be assigned here.
At the same time, in the extra part of the second-floor split level, Gu Xi had built a fireplace. He planned to set up the Furnace Stone that connected to Yalidu City here.
Gu Xi believed that Netherworld University had many similar methods to directly connect to the Players’ Death City.
After all, this was a specialized university tailored for that.
The third floor was Gu Xi’s bedroom, cloakroom, and bathroom.
The cloakroom was something Tang Shuang specifically suggested, since Gu Xi’s sense of style needed serious attention; he couldn’t just keep wearing the kind of stuff he had on now.
There was also a small split-level area on the third floor. Gu Xi didn’t have any particular ideas for it yet and just had them leave it empty for future use.
When he pushed the door open and came in, Gu Xi noticed that the apartment’s interior finishing and utilities had already been completed.
But the soft furnishings and such hadn’t been brought in yet.
The place looked relatively empty inside.
After entering, Gu Xi dropped the groceries he was carrying in the kitchen, then scooped Tang Shuang up in his arms.
At this point Tang Shuang also understood Gu Xi’s state of mind and didn’t stop him. She simply wrapped her arms around him. The two of them just held each other tightly, standing in the empty apartment, not moving at all.
No one knew how long they stayed like that. The sky outside had already begun to darken when Tang Shuang patted Gu Xi’s shoulder and said,
"I’m hungry. Didn’t you say you were going to cook for me? You’re not planning to starve me like this, are you?"
"Of course not. I’ll go cook right now."
Only then did Gu Xi snap back to himself, and he hurried toward the kitchen.
Tang Shuang leaned against the column by the kitchen, chatting idly with Gu Xi.
"I just asked one of our seniors. Gong Lingyu’s background is pretty serious. She’s with the Ghost Realm Committee."
"Ghost Realm Committee?"
Gu Xi couldn’t help looking up from the cutting board. He was quite curious about what kind of background his mentor had.
"Yeah. Undead Players are mainly concentrated in three Star Realms: the Netherworld, the Ghost Realm, and the Yellow Springs Realm. Besides that, in other Star Realms, there might be some planets with cities that specialize in the Undead path, but there aren’t many.
The Netherworld is considered a core zone. It has no direct superior authority. It’s mainly under unified management by Yin City and over seven hundred big and small schools nearby.
Almost everything is built around those schools.
The Ghost Realm and the Yellow Springs Realm are the exact opposite.
The Ghost Realm uses a parliamentary system. All power is controlled by the twelve members of the Ghost Realm Committee.
Gong Lingyu is the eleventh-seat alternate among those twelve.
Her authority in the Ghost Realm is quite considerable."
"What about the Yellow Springs Realm?"
Gu Xi grew curious as soon as he heard that.
"The Yellow Springs Realm is an empire. Everything is in the hands of the Nether Emperor.
I heard he’s a Level 60 big shot, and at the same time, the Red Equipment numbered 609 is in his hands."
"Red Armor?"
Gu Xi’s interest was instantly piqued. "Is that the only one the Undead Players have?"
"No. There are four pieces of Red Armor for Undead Players in total: number 77, Earth Dao; number 229, White Bone Spear; number 400, Nether Heart; and this number 609, Throne of the Dead.
As for their Attributes, no one really knows. After all, everyone who tried to dig up that kind of info ended up dead."
Talking about Red Armor made Gu Xi suddenly think of something.
"Right, about the Orange Armor they give you when you enroll—can you pick whatever you like?"
"Yeah, you can choose freely. You can first narrow it down a bit, decide what you want to strengthen, and then have your mentor help you pick.
But I heard there were people who brought their own Purple Armor and asked to Upgrade it to Orange Armor, and in the end it was approved."
Tang Shuang explained to Gu Xi.
"Is there any clue about Orange Armor upgrading into Red Armor? Or if some clue about a Red Armor appears, will people fight over it?"
Hearing Gu Xi’s question, Tang Shuang burst out laughing.
"Don’t joke around. Sure, there are only just over a thousand pieces of Red Armor right now, but every single day, countless rumors pop up about Red Armor clues or chances to Upgrade to Red Armor.
Even if you run out right now and say you’ve got a piece of Red Armor in your hand, no one’s going to believe you.
They’ll only believe the official data, believe the official statement that there are just over a thousand Red Armor pieces.
Even if you tell your friends you’ve gotten a clue about Red Armor and you’re going to look for it, they might not even bother with you."
Listening to this, Gu Xi actually felt it made sense.
If it’s really like that, then all the so-called Red Armor clues floating around in the real world are like those text messages saying "I am Emperor Qin Shi Huang"—they’re basically scam messages.
Any normal person hearing that would just assume it’s bragging.
Rather than wasting time listening to someone brag, it’s more sensible to honestly figure out how to secure a piece of Orange Armor.
At least in the real world, as long as you’re not some completely hopeless Player, you’ll have a chance to get in touch with Orange Armor before Level 20. Even if you don’t, there will definitely be leads on Orange Armor.
That’s way better than unrealistically obsessing over Red Armor.
