Undead Mage from a Cell
Chapter 1260: Cutting the Battlefield
Chapter 1260 -1258: Cutting the Battlefield
Just as Gong Lingyu said, the third insane spell didn’t significantly affect the Obsidian Undead Corps.
They only exchanged a few blows before immediately regaining their senses.
At most, their formation became somewhat chaotic, but it didn’t hurt their core.
However, Amirka was waiting for this opportunity of the enemy’s chaotic formation.
Because he knew he only had one chance to strike.
Gu Xi requested him to kill two hundred Obsidian Undead to expand the battle results.
“Opportunity! Aurora Flow, attack!”
Under Amirka’s command, nearly ten thousand different cavalry set off and reached the Obsidian Undead battle array in an instant.
Previously, the Obsidian Undead formation wouldn’t have cared about such an attack.
The combat power of the Aurora Knight Order was inferior, and even if they had attribute blessings, so did the Undead.
No matter the cavalry’s impact, their defense was still strong.
Their movement speed slowed a little, so being struck by the cavalry was pointless.
But the cavalry had only one chance to charge.
To charge again, they would have to retreat hundreds of meters to accelerate anew.
This way, before the spell on the Obsidian Undead dissipated, they could hit only three to four times at most.
Even if part of the Obsidian Undead perished in the charge, so what?
The losses would not exceed a thousand.
On this count, Leader Nu was very confident.
In his view, he had never fought a battle without such losses.
Even with his high level and leadership, in Gong Lingyu’s ranks, he was but a part of a ragtag army.
So he wouldn’t lose confidence however he was hit.
Instead, he’d find ways to kill more enemies.
Presently, Nu saw the situation: Gu Xi’s troops were many, but the truly desperate numbers were not so numerous.
The Bone Dragons in the sky required attention.
The charging cavalry must be withstood through two or three waves.
The rest would enter his rhythm.
His forces could engage in various combat situations with great victory rates.
Nu thought that his legion could be annihilated, but they must tear a chunk from the enemy.
With such a strength disparity, he intended to kill two hundred thousand of the enemy Undead, a reasonable count.
But he never thought, Amirka understood Gu Xi better, who never had a one-on-one, head-to-head battle style.
Slicing was Gu Xi’s usual art.
As the Aurora Knight Order neared the Nu Legions, the concealed Level 36 Cyan Knight suddenly struck.
This Cyan Knight’s action stunned Gong Lingyu, yet she said nothing.
In her eyes, she had Level 35 soldiers and several regiments, unlike Gu Xi’s solo case, not much significant.
If such knights of Level 35 or more charged into the Nu Legions and stopped, they’d be surrounded to death.
Gu Xi sending cavalry at this time seemed reckless.
This was inappropriate, after taking Gu Xi in, she must remind him.
Though Undead fear not death, they must not be misused.
But Gong Lingyu quickly sensed something amiss.
Because the Cyan Knight’s charge was like a sharp knife, forcibly slicing two hundred out of the ten-thousand-square formation.
Then, only these two hundred Obsidian Undead were the target of the Aurora Knight Order’s soldiers.
Though their levels weren’t high and attack power much weaker than the Undead.
Under the magic ceremony and blessings, they could still wound the Undead.
While no severe wounds could occur, but minor wounds are wounds too, and with nearly ten thousand cavalry, each can strike fifty times or more on each Obsidian Undead.
In Amirka’s thought, they could undoubtedly kill two hundred Obsidian Undead.
However, he still overestimated the knights’ combat power.
Except for the Level 36 Cyan Knight, breaking the formations and killing three Obsidian Undead in one blow, the rest could only kill over sixty.
This result was unbearable to Amirka.
Yet, for Gu Xi, it was just fine.
Once the cavalry passed, the Bone Dragons swooped down, striking the split-out Obsidian Undead.
The Bone Dragons, made incarnates of death, reached Level 19.
Although a major realm behind the Level 25 or so Obsidian Undead, the gap wasn’t vastly wide.
Most importantly, the Death Incarnation – Bone Dragon’s Death Dragon Breath proved useful now.
Under a wave of it, several heavily wounded Obsidian Undead finally fell.
Combined with the over sixty killed by the Aurora Knight Order, this attack altogether killed over a hundred forty Obsidian Undead.
This differed from Gu Xi’s initial plan by a margin.
Seeing Gu Xi’s actions, Gong Lingyu shook her head.
Was Gu Xi planning frontal confrontation?
Was he overly confident, or simply blind to his abilities?
Didn’t he know Undead combat required factoring in strength?
This is a demerit.
Yet, in the next instant, Gong Lingyu’s eyes narrowed.
Gu Xi surprisingly used the Ghost Gate Opening skill on Nu’s Legion.
Gong Lingyu knew Ghost Gate Opening well too.
But she never used Ghost Gate this way.
For in her view, the Undead released by Ghost Gate weren’t her own, their powers varied, often low-level minions.
Useless on battle, potentially obstructing her forces’ offense.
So she hadn’t used Ghost Gate Opening for a long time.
But unexpectedly, Gu Xi used Ghost Gate to slice Nu’s Legion.
While deploying Ghost Gate Opening, Gu Xi released Ghost-Suppressing Peach Mountain.
Harnessing Peach Mountain’s power to subdue the released Undead, allowing partial control over them.
Thus, the Undead emerging from Ghost Gate were no longer driven by instinct, attacking all around.
Instead, as Gu Xi planned, they’d target enemy positions, assailing specific foes.
Under the Undead’s torrent-like attack, any strong enemy could be chewed down.
Not to say Nu’s Legion, a mere ragtag group.
The battleground was overrun with scenes of Undead from Ghost Gate tearing underneath.
