Cassian was exceedingly pleased with the results.

The newly acquired elite summons had already exceeded his expectations, especially the Elite Skeleton Shamans.

This was the first time he had encountered abilities capable of directly influencing probability itself.

Such powers were rare even within the Lord’s Domain; skills that could subtly alter fate on a battlefield were often far more terrifying than straightforward, destructive magic.

Naturally, Cassian had zero intention of leaving such valuable troops at a mere elite classification.

The fusion process began immediately.

Out of the 624 Elite Skeleton Berserkers and 613 Elite Skeleton Shamans, he selected nine from each group and activated [Fusion].

Brilliant cerulean light erupted across the ruined battlefield.

The eighteen elites dissolved into swirling streams of energy before converging into two separate, towering pillars of radiance.

The first pillar exploded outward as a massive skeleton stepped forth. Its frame dwarfed ordinary berserkers, standing nearly four meters tall with azure cracks running across its darkened bones like lightning through a storm cloud.

Massive curved horns protruded from its skull, while a ragged cloak made from the hides of slain beasts draped heavily over its shoulders.

In its hands rested an enormous double-bladed battle axe, a weapon nearly as large as a wagon, forged from blackened bone and dried blood.

Unlike the Elite Skeleton Berserkers that embodied mindless violence, this new commander radiated controlled, absolute brutality.

Its empty eye sockets burned with blue soul flames that seemed capable of igniting entire battlefields.

The second pillar of light slowly dimmed to reveal a far more slender figure.

The skeleton stood draped in layered robes woven from countless strips of dark cloth covered in glowing runes.

Unlike the elite shamans whose appearances were relatively simple, this entity’s body was adorned with floating bone talismans that orbited around it like moons around a planet.

In its hand rested a twisted staff crafted from a gigantic spine, crowned with a floating skull surrounded by rotating rings of cursed symbols.

The atmosphere around it felt deeply unsettling, as though reality itself subtly warped in its presence.

Where the first commander embodied war, the second embodied fate.

Cassian immediately opened their system descriptions:

[Warhowl Commander]

Classification: Commander

Race: Undead

Grade: Common

Potential: SSS-Grade

[Description:]

An undead commander born from endless slaughter. Unlike ordinary berserkers who lose themselves to mindless fury, the Warhowl Commander embraces carnage while retaining absolute clarity of mind. Every wound strengthens it, and every drop of blood empowers it. It is a commander forged specifically for battlefields where retreat is no longer an option.

"Its roar heralds war. Its axe delivers judgment."

[Skills:]

[War God Frenzy]: The commander enters a divine state of battle. Power, speed, vitality, and endurance increase continuously during combat while maintaining complete mental clarity. All injuries received trigger accelerated regeneration.

[Slaughter]: All damage received is accumulated and amplified threefold. The stored force may then be unleashed through the commander’s weapon in a devastating counterattack.

[Bloodlust]: Damage dealt restores health. The greater the injury inflicted upon an enemy, the greater the healing received by the commander.

[Blightseer Commander]

Classification: Commander

Race: Undead

Grade: Common

Potential: SSS-Grade

[Description:]

A commander who walks the boundary between fate and calamity. Though physically frail compared to other commanders, the Blightseer possesses terrifying mastery over fortune itself. Its curses twist destiny, and its blessings reshape outcomes. On battlefields where the Blightseer walks, coincidence ceases to exist.

"Where its staff points, fate obeys."

[Skills:]

[Misfortune]: Inflicts a 40% increase in the likelihood of negative outcomes upon enemy forces. Accidents, failures, equipment mistakes, and tactical disasters become significantly more frequent.

[Providence]: Grants a 40% increase in the likelihood of positive outcomes for allied forces. Fortunate strikes, successful defenses, critical opportunities, and advantageous circumstances occur far more frequently.

[Chamber]: Creates a specialized necrotic chamber capable of storing up to ten undead units. After one week of incubation within the chamber, a single stored undead emerges with enhanced potential and significantly improved growth prospects.

....

Cassian was extremely pleased with the new commanders.

The Warhowl Commander was powerful, but it was the Blightseer Commander that truly captured his attention.

The commander possessed upgraded versions of Hex and Favor in the form of Misfortune and Providence, abilities capable of influencing entire battlefields rather than individual encounters.

And then there was the third skill.

Chamber.

Cassian read its description again.

The ability allowed undead to be stored within a special space before emerging a week later with greater potential.

The more he thought about it, the more absurd it sounded.

It was almost like Fusion.

Of course, a description was only a description.

Whether the skill truly worked as advertised would require testing.

That could wait for later.

As Cassian’s thoughts drifted, his gaze landed on the Warhowl Commander once more.

He studied the towering skeleton for several seconds.

Then his eyes narrowed.

"..."

Something felt familiar.

Cassian turned toward Nyxara.

"Nyxara, come look at this."

The elven champion immediately stepped forward.

"What is the issue, my lord?" she asked, a hint of confusion in her voice.

Cassian pointed toward the Warhowl Commander.

The commander instantly straightened its posture upon receiving attention from its lord.

Its massive axe was planted against the ground while cerulean flames flickered within its eye sockets.

Nyxara observed it carefully.

Several seconds passed.

Then realization appeared in her eyes.

"Oh."

Cassian raised an eyebrow.

"Oh?"

Nyxara nodded.

"Yes, my lord."

She pointed at the commander.

"It resembles the huge pig I was battling earlier."

"..."

The battlefield suddenly became very quiet.

The Warhowl Commander stood completely motionless.

Its soul flames flickered once.

Then twice.

As if it were trying to process what had just been said.

Cassian slowly looked toward the commander.

Then back at Nyxara.

Then toward the commander again.

The resemblance was actually there.

The massive frame.

The towering height.

The oversized weapon.

Even the aggressive posture.

If one ignored the fact that the commander was an undead skeleton, it genuinely looked like a thinner version of the four-meter-tall orc behemoth Nyxara had beaten to death earlier.

Unfortunately, Nyxara had apparently noticed only one detail.

The pig part.

Cassian pinched the bridge of his nose.

It seemed he would have to get used to his champion’s racist behavior as soon as possible.

After all, judging from the growing smile on Nyxara’s face as she continued staring at the commander, she appeared entirely unaware that there was anything wrong with what she had just said.

Meanwhile, the Warhowl Commander silently lowered its skull.

For the first time since its creation, it looked oddly defeated.
