Tyrant Sky Martial Soul
Chapter 2766 - 2769: Huyan Hong’s Foolish Obstinacy
"Shut up!"
Huyan Hong’s recklessness infuriated her grandfather greatly.
In his angry shout, another slap landed on her face.
Huyan Hong’s cheeks were marked with red handprints.
"You reckless girl, Young Master Ling’s cultivation far surpasses yours. The reason he hasn’t acted against you is merely because he appreciates our assistance.
Yet you are so oblivious, do you truly think that the Tuoba Clan is the only one in this world?
Fool!
Utterly foolish!"
Originally, the old man wasn’t planning to say those words, but his granddaughter’s foolish actions might even lead to their family’s demise.
After all, the Demon Dragon Sect is undoubtedly a cult, with each member being heinous and ruthless. If you provoke them, it’s not surprising if they decide to wipe out your whole family.
With such a foolish granddaughter, he truly feels he hasn’t taught her well.
Ling Xiao, as if oblivious to the old man’s actions, said calmly, "I plan to visit the Tuoba Clan, but I’m unfamiliar with the way there. Could you please show me the route, sir?"
"Of course, of course! How about this, my two granddaughters are going to deliver gifts anyway, Young Master can accompany them. I’m too old to travel such a long distance."
the old man suggested.
"Okay."
Ling Xiao nodded, only needing someone to show him the way, regardless of who it was.
"You two, listen carefully. Serve this Young Master well on the journey. Do not be careless even for a moment."
the old man instructed his two granddaughters.
This old fellow, in truth, harbored ulterior motives.
Ling Xiao being so young yet possessing such formidable strength frightened him. Then in the Demon Dragon Sect, he must be someone of noble status.
Perhaps he was a high-ranking disciple in legend.
If one of his granddaughters were fortunate enough to catch Ling Xiao’s attention, perhaps taken as a servant, or even a concubine, their family could earn prestige.
In the Tuoba Clan, they definitely wouldn’t dare show hostility toward them.
Ling Xiao naturally didn’t know the vile thoughts of the old geezer; his mind was occupied with two matters.
One being what happened to Chen Buyi.
The other being why the Red Demoness would marry into such a remote place.
"I don’t want to go with him. He’s a shameful waste. Grandpa, why do you say he’s stronger than us?"
Perhaps all young people have a rebellious streak, and Huyan Hong was no exception.
The more her grandfather scolded her, the more defiant she felt inside.
"If you keep speaking nonsense, do you believe I’ll marry you off to that guy?"
the old man’s face was as grim as a quagmire.
That guy!
Huyan Hong thought of that marriage prospect, strong but fat as a pig, with some mental issues, and lost her temper instantly.
Her grandfather had been kind enough not to forcefully marry her off, she wouldn’t dare anger him again.
Seeing his granddaughter finally quiet, the old man breathed a sigh of relief.
He was truly afraid her loose tongue might completely offend Ling Xiao.
The mule wagon continued onward, with Huyan Lan, who hadn’t spoken much until now, blinking her innocent eyes, asking, "Big brother, are you really strong?"
"Yeah, very strong!"
Ling Xiao looked at Huyan Lan, sighing inwardly. If only every girl were as pure and charming as this little kid.
Huyan Hong wanted to voice her sarcasm but, thinking she might be married off to a fool, she refrained from speaking.
Instead, Huyan Lan giggled, "I believe you are truly strong, because martial artists with half-step Yin-Yang Realm cultivation wouldn’t survive long here."
Arriving at the Hulan Clan, Ling Xiao realized it was a rather sizable family.
At least more influential than the Ling Family of Yuhua Town.
Indeed, considering the two granddaughters were martial artists with the First Transformation Yin-Yang Realm Nine-layer Hell cultivation.
This was incomparably superior to the Ling Family of Feather Transformation Town.
After a meal and gathering gifts, Ling Xiao, Huyan Hong, and Huyan Lan set off.
Accompanying them were two guards.
These guards had cultivation levels around the Hell Late Stage of the First Transformation Yin-Yang Realm Nine-layer Hell.
Though not as strong as Huyan Hong, their strength was akin to Huyan Lan’s, making them formidable protectors.
Throughout the journey, Huyan Lan chatted much with Ling Xiao, fascinated by his colorful experiences from someone who had never left this small town.
Listening with much delight.
"Hmph, Alan, be careful not to let this silver-tongued guy beguile you."
Huyan Hong continually disdained Ling Xiao, believing he was full of lies.
"Sister, I think you have a bias against big brother."
Huyan Lan pouted.
"Hmph!"
Huyan Hong snorted coldly, offering no explanation but turning to Ling Xiao, "I don’t know how you managed to earn my grandfather’s trust.
I don’t know your true motivation for approaching us.
But I warn you, don’t try anything with my sister and me. Our Hulan family will never follow a useless wanderer to flee anywhere!
Moreover, when we reach the Tuoba Clan, you’d better behave properly; it’s not a place you can act recklessly. Listen to me on everything."
Ling Xiao cast a detached glance at Huyan Hong, saying nothing, and continued chatting with Huyan Lan.
Huyan Hong was so angry her teeth itched, yet dared not act rashly.
She was well aware that the two guards accompanying her were purposely sent by her grandfather to keep an eye on her, lest she did anything reckless.
For the rest of the journey, no words were exchanged; the distance between the Hulan Clan and the Tuoba Clan wasn’t far.
Just a few dozen kilometers separating the two towns.
Thus it was naturally possible to arrive within a day.
Though this was assuming nothing troublesome occurred.
However, the journey was riddled with wilderness.
When about ten kilometers away from the Tuoba Clan, suddenly a whistling sounded from both sides of the hills.
A dense crowd surged down the slopes.
In a flash, they surrounded the group.
Though Huyan Lan wasn’t weak, never having ventured out, she shrank into the carriage, her face pale with fright.
Ling Xiao gently grasped her hand, saying, "Don’t worry, with me here, nothing will happen."
Ling Xiao had taken quite a liking to Huyan Lan, so regardless of any situation, he wouldn’t let her be harmed.
This band of bandits numbered about two hundred.
Among them, four fierce beasts emerged.
On these beasts were four men dressed entirely differently than the small fry, lavish and distinct.
Presumed leaders of the bandits.
Their eyes consistently measured Huyan Hong and Huyan Lan.
Their gaze exuded a very malevolent aura.
Making Huyan Lan and Huyan Hong feel their heartbeats quicken, as if these four men had stripped them bare.
The two guards swiftly shielded both sides of the carriage.
These guards were fairly loyal, seemingly intent on defending their young masters at all costs.
Huyan Hong, compared to Huyan Lan, remained cool in such a situation.
