Gu Feimo remained silent.

It seemed like he wanted more, but reason held him back.

Facing the girl’s bewildered gaze, he finally released her hand.

"It’s done." Gu Feimo closed the laptop and added, "Get me a glass of water."

"Mm... Okay." Ye Shushu jumped up, rushing back to her position.

With trembling hands, she poured him a glass of water and leaned over to hand it to him.

"Do you want to eat anything else?"

Gu Feimo drank half the glass of water and began tidying up.

"No need, I’m full."

He packed the laptop back into his handbag and stood up.

"Where are you going? Let me give you a ride."

Ye Shushu looked up, meeting Gu Feimo’s gaze, completely unable to comprehend.

She had asked him to help with Nian Nian’s issue, but he took her out for breakfast.

In just one breakfast’s time, he had sorted out this tricky problem, and although Ye Shushu hadn’t seen it, she knew he must have handled everything.

He helped her without asking for anything in return, simply offering to take her back.

Ye Shushu really couldn’t understand; if he agreed to help her so easily, he didn’t need to waste so much time.

He could have just agreed over the phone, which would have been much easier for him.

Ye Shushu admitted that she was worried when she called him and he said he’d pick her up, just like when she arrived at the hotel parking lot.

She composed herself and stood up from the sofa.

"No need, I’ll take a cab back myself. So... about earlier, how much do you charge?"

"My fees are quite high, didn’t you know?" He tossed the words to her and turned to leave.

Ye Shushu quickly caught up but slowed her pace as she approached him.

"I... know. How much is it?" she continued to ask quietly.

Gu Feimo didn’t respond. After swiping his card to pay the bill, he left the hotel.

Ye Shushu followed him all the way, from the hotel, to the elevator, and then to the underground parking lot.

"Senior Feimo, how much is it? If I don’t have enough, I can go back and discuss it with others."

"Discuss with whom? Lin Tianyi?" Gu Feimo didn’t turn around, leaving only his voice echoing.

Ye Shushu didn’t know why he brought up Tianyi’s name, but she quickly chased after him.

"Not Tianyi, you spent half... no, twenty-five minutes earlier."

"What’s your hourly rate? I think the three of us can pool together enough."

She originally intended to say half an hour, but considering Senior Feimo’s hourly rate must be higher than others, she decided not to count those extra five minutes.
