Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations
Chapter 1904: What Do You Want to Know?
"Could you show me your ID?" Justin Kingston kindly made a request, even curving his lips into a gentle smile.
The girl did not immediately take it out from her bag but calmly met his gaze, "Can you give me a reason?"
This counter-question startled Angel, who turned her gaze in disbelief towards her. Where did she get the nerve to question CEO Kingston?
Yet, as she met CEO Kingston’s gaze, she didn’t seem to be joking at all.
Unexpectedly, Justin did not get angry; instead, he smiled, somewhat appreciating her, finally understanding why Anton Miller liked her.
This girl was very different from other girls.
Her eyes, when looking at him, carried a cold detachment, far from infatuation, as if she was seriously waiting for his reason.
Justin glanced at Jerry Garcia, then at Angel, and said, "You two step outside for a moment. I have something I need to discuss with Ms. Sawyer alone."
Angel couldn’t understand, and her heart was filled with jealousy, but since Jerry had already started walking out, she had no reason to stay.
Angel glanced at Abby Sawyer, feeling a sense of unease—could it be that CEO Kingston preferred her as the heroine?
But the contract was already signed... If she wanted to breach it, she would have to pay a hefty penalty.
Cautiously anxious, Angel stepped outside.
Once they both left, Justin walked to a nearby armchair and said, "Come and sit, Ms. Sawyer." He spoke in a friendly tone.
Abby Sawyer looked at him, her heart filled with caution, and asked flatly, "What does CEO Kingston want to discuss with me?"
Justin sat down in the armchair, leaned forward, and poured two cups of tea by himself.
Then he looked up at the girl standing by the armchair and gently asked, "Do you know Anton Miller?"
The girl shook her head, "No, I don’t."
Justin, holding the teacup, gazed at her without blinking, as if observing something. She didn’t seem to be lying at all.
He changed his way of questioning, "Do you know who he is?"
"The drama Ms. Angel took on stars Anton Miller as the lead male, but I haven’t seen him or know him," the girl inquired, "What’s the matter? Why does CEO Kingston ask this question, and why exclude Angel?"
She really didn’t seem to be lying...
So, did something happen to her over the years that caused her to have amnesia?
Justin’s expression remained gentle, not putting too much pressure on her, as he smiled, "It’s nothing, I’m just casually asking. It has nothing to do with Angel; there’s no need for her to listen."
But Abby Sawyer felt this wasn’t just a casual inquiry. It was purposely asked of her.
She couldn’t make sense of it either.
"Ms. Sawyer, may I... see your right ankle?" Justin’s voice was warm and filled with sincerity, devoid of any impropriety, as if seeking something.
"What’s the reason?" She had her suspicions.
"..." Justin met her gaze, unable to provide a reason.
Their gazes intertwined, enveloped in silence.
After a while, Abby Sawyer lifted the hem of her dress on the right side, revealing a fair right calf.
Justin’s gaze moved downward.
There was nothing on her ankle, clean and fair-skinned. Justin’s confusion increased—was this girl really Abby Sawyer?
She looked alike, the name matched, but lost memory?
After a moment, the girl lowered her dress, "What exactly does CEO Kingston want to know?"
"Do you..." He looked up at her, daring to ask, "have amnesia? Do you not remember things from ten years ago?"
