Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations
Chapter 1899: What the Heck Is This?
After some whispered discussions, the person in charge got up and went to Justin Kingston, bent over and whispered in his ear, "CEO Kingston, we all feel that choosing Angel is the right decision. Her acting skills are indeed excellent, and more importantly, she has a sizable following. Since this is a project, we still need to consider profitability."
Given this, Justin Kingston had nothing more to say; the message conveyed was everyone’s consensus from their lengthy discussion just now.
So, Justin Kingston nodded, "Do as you see fit." He got up and headed out, hands in his pockets, his gaze not lingering on any of the three women.
Angel knew the decision was made, but she didn’t know who would be chosen as the female lead. With her heart in her throat, she looked at the person in charge.
The person in charge glanced at the three of them and announced with a smile, "The female lead is Angel, the second lead is Deborah, and the third lead is Erin Yates."
Deborah felt a bit disappointed inside, even though she wore a smile on her face.
Angel beamed with delight; she was genuinely happy, radiating confidence, finally getting to act opposite Anton Ford! This was her dream come true!
Angel thanked everyone, then the meeting adjourned.
"What a pity that I couldn’t play the female lead; I really like Anton Miller."
"You’re better off; you have scenes with Anton, even a kissing scene. I have nothing, only to watch him from afar, playing his best buddy in the show, without even any physical interaction."
Anton Miller’s rakishly handsome demeanor always managed to attract the attention of countless girls, including those in the entertainment industry.
With an excited heart, Angel returned to her chic-styled home; she had just had Sharon find Anton Ford’s number.
As she dialed the number, a bit of nervousness crept in, and her heart rate quickened.
The cool ringtone played, causing Angel to both anticipate and feel anxious—how could even the ringtone be so captivating?! It was maddening!
At this moment, Anton Miller was at his villa, still sitting on the terrace, holding a photo of Abby Sawyer in one hand and a phone in the other, staring intently at this unfamiliar number.
Just as the ringing was about to end, he answered, putting it on speaker but not speaking.
These days, Anton was in a low mood and typically didn’t answer unfamiliar numbers.
"Is this Anton Ford?" A woman’s hopeful sweet voice came through.
His tone was indifferent, "And you are?"
"Hello, I’m Angel, the female lead in the drama ’Perfect Match’, your new co-star. I’ve already got the script and would like to discuss it with you. Shall I come directly to your place, or should we meet outside? I know a newly opened café at..."
Before she could finish, Anton Ford directly hung up and casually tossed the phone onto the small round table.
What nonsense?
He leaned back into the chair, his gaze falling on the girl’s right ankle in the photo, the clear mark of a tattoo, once again stabbing at his heart...
He vowed to find Abby.
Even if he didn’t take this drama, didn’t keep busy, he wouldn’t be aimless in affections anymore; from the moment he got the photo, his long-numbed memories had resurfaced.
His mind and eyes were filled with the girl he once loved deeply and wronged.
That was the regret of his youth.
If he could see her again, he would spend the rest of his life making up for it.
He placed the photo down, picked up the wine on the table, and downed it in one gulp, then leaned back into the chair, gazed up at the clouds in the sky.
He would never again see such a beautiful sunset.
The next morning.
Angel was putting on her makeup herself, about to head to Kingston Group to sign the contract. Yesterday only confirmed her as the female lead; the contract was not ready yet because the terms for the first, second, and third leads were different.
"Go and get me a cup of coffee." Angel instructed her new assistant.
"Okay." The girl walked away.
After a while, Sharon was tidying up and asked, "Keira, are you taking her with you?"
