Chapter 1888: Successful Signing

Before the girl could say anything, he proactively suggested, "Miss Bibi, you can name your terms to me, as long as it’s within my capability, I will agree to it! Can we finalize the contract today?"

The girl smiled at him, thinking this assistant is quite cute.

So, after some thought, she said to him, "Then I want some canned food?"

"Huh?" Jerry Garcia momentarily thought he misheard, but he quickly regained focus; is this her request?

The girl then explained to him, "I’ve been obsessed with eating canned food lately, the handmade kind without preservatives. I make it fresh every day; I’m addicted to it, and I’m particularly craving it now."

"..." Facing the girl’s gaze, Jerry reluctantly nodded, "Let me try?" Worried that since he had never made it before, he might not get the taste she’s after and mess up the contract.

"Mm." The girl nodded.

"Shall I go first then?" With that, Jerry stood up to leave; he had no clue about the process for making handmade canned food.

But to secure the contract and report back to CEO Kingston as soon as possible, he decided to succeed no matter what.

On his way downstairs, he watched some tutorial videos.

He then went to a fruit store to buy fresh fruit, pineapple, apple, and peach, and browsed TikTok for recipes, then went to a supermarket to buy rock sugar.

This was the first time Jerry Garcia, a big man, was doing something like this, all for a girl he just met.

Bibi, who loves cats, was sitting alone by the bedside waiting for him, with nurses occasionally coming by for check-ups. She didn’t tell her parents about spraining her ankle because they were busy, and she didn’t want them to worry.

Several hours later, Jerry returned to the hospital.

He brought the canned food which he finally succeeded in making after three failed attempts and felt a sense of accomplishment.

"You took a long time?" The girl asked softly, "Do you live far away? Was this difficult for you?" She suddenly began to reflect, wondering if her request was excessive.

Jerry smiled awkwardly, "I don’t live far, just that it was my first attempt. I failed a few times, but thank you, I finally succeeded, and it feels rewarding."

The girl smiled at him, "Thank you." She placed the canned food on the bedside cabinet and then reached out her hand, "Give me the contract."

"Do you have your ID with you?" Jerry asked, "I need to make a double-sided copy and will bring it back to you tomorrow."

"I have it."

"Here’s the contract, have a look." He happily handed over the contract along with a pen.

The girl took the contract and opened it; the compensation on it was five thousand more per month than what they discussed over the phone, quite generous.

Looking up at him, surprise flickered in her eyes, "This salary..."

Seeing her doubtful, Jerry quickly said, "Because we’re sincerely inviting you, the boss said to add five thousand!"

"..." She was suddenly touched and didn’t know what to say, so she buried her head and read the entire contract content before signing her name at the end without hesitation.

At that moment, Jerry received a call, it’s work-related; he had to return to the office.

The girl handed back the contract to him, then took out her ID card from her bag and handed it over, "Here!"

Jerry reached out and took it without looking closely, putting the ID card and contract together into a file bag, "Miss Bibi, I have to go now. Enjoy the canned food while it’s fresh, I have some things at the office to handle, I’ll come to see you tomorrow if I’m free and bring more canned food."

"Alright, thank you." The girl watched him leave with a smile.

Jerry was quite pleased too, finally securing this important matter, fearing losing the last comic artist.
