Chapter 263: Chapter 132: Asking for a Beating

[Spiritual Light Divination]

Divines the source of imminent danger.

As the Divine Ability activated, the world before Jiang Mu’s eyes instantly lost its color, transforming into a tapestry of interwoven black-and-white lines and points of light.

In his vision, the sky-blotting giant hand became a complex structure woven from countless threads of cosmic law.

And on the right side of its palm, a faint, crimson speck of light flickered incessantly.

It pulsed with a large, ominous character for "Peril."

Jiang Mu immediately raised his hand, pointed to the spot where the character for "Peril" flared, and roared:

"Strike there!"

Si Rumeng was at the end of her rope.

Her massive canopy was being crushed, sinking lower and lower as her leaves and branches withered.

Although she doubted Jiang Mu could see through Black Mountain’s Divine Abilities, her life was on the line. She had no choice but to trust him.

’I suppose I’ll try anything at this point...’

Si Rumeng sighed to herself, a sense of absurd desolation washing over her.

’To think that I, Si Rumeng, would end up dying alongside the Court’s most detestable attack dog. How utterly ironic.’

Despite her thoughts, she squeezed out the last dregs of her Demonic Power.

Countless thick vines began to twist together, converging in mid-air to form a colossal Wooden Sword that gleamed with an ethereal purple light. With a piercing whistle, it stabbed toward the crimson speck Jiang Mu had indicated.

"PSST—"

A soft yet distinct shattering sound echoed.

It was as if something, like a bubble, had been pierced.

As the Wooden Sword plunged into that single point, the once-indestructible black hand suddenly froze. Immediately after, a blinding crack spread out from the point of impact, branching across the surface like a spider’s web.

’It... it actually worked...’

Si Rumeng’s beautiful eyes flew wide open, filled with incredulous joy and shock.

Her spirits soared. Not daring to pause for even a moment, she commanded the sky-full of vines to strike again.

Innumerable vines thrashed like a frenzy of wild dragons, their attacks growing ever fiercer.

They stabbed mercilessly into the crack again and again, widening the breach.

If they could just destroy this hand, they could break free from this collapsing cage.

Meanwhile, Jiang Mu below hadn’t been idle.

Seizing the opportunity while Si Rumeng kept Black Mountain’s giant hand occupied, he charged into the midst of the traitorous female ghosts.

Black Mountain’s methods were truly sinister. He had not only turned confidantes like Wen Xiaoqing, but even the seemingly insignificant Ghost Cultivator patrols had long been his hidden pawns.

At this moment, the traitors were attempting a desperate last stand. They shrieked and lunged at the struggling Si Rumeng, trying to stab her in the back.

A cold glint flashed in Jiang Mu’s eyes as his palms conjured a sky-full of blood-red light.

These Ghost Cultivators, none higher than Tier Three, were like lambs to the slaughter before him. Wherever the blood-red light passed, black smoke billowed and agonized screams echoed endlessly.

In just a few moments, he had slaughtered every last traitor.

At the same time, a deafening crash resounded from the sky.

"BOOM!"

The colossal black hand that had blotted out the sun finally gave way. Under Si Rumeng’s relentless assault, it shattered, dissolving into countless fragments of dark energy that vanished into the void.

The terrifying, murderous aura that had filled the air instantly dissipated.

"It’s over."

Jiang Mu let out a long, turbid breath, his taut nerves finally relaxing.

Black Mountain’s power was truly terrifying. A single Divine Ability cast from afar had nearly wiped them all out.

If his true self had come in person... the consequences would have been unimaginable.

"CRACK—"

Just then, massive black fissures began to tear across the sky above.

Chaotic spatial energies poured in wildly.

"This dimension is about to collapse!"

Si Rumeng’s anxious voice called out. Her enormous tree-trunk body was desperately holding up the falling sky.

Her branches and leaves were burning and disintegrating in the void.

"Hurry to the main hall and find Xiaoqian and the others! Get them out of here! I... I can’t hold on for much longer!"

Jiang Mu wasn’t surprised.

This pocket dimension had been created by Black Mountain. Now that the spell was broken and its foundation destroyed, its collapse was inevitable.

Besides, he wasn’t comfortable staying in a world built by someone else anyway.

"Hold on!"

With that, Jiang Mu’s figure transformed into a streak of light and shot toward the ruins of the main hall.

Watching Jiang Mu’s departing figure, Si Rumeng felt a slight sense of relief.

’I thought the Court’s attack dog would just save his own skin. I didn’t expect him... to be a man of his word.’

...

「In the ruins of the main hall.」

Several beautiful female ghosts were trapped inside a crimson fire-shield formed by Talismans, screaming in agony.

Next to them was a pile of ash that had yet to disperse.

Clearly, one of their companions had already been killed.

This was a Killing Array set up by the traitors before they died, intended to drag their former sisters down with them.

"Break!"

Jiang Mu appeared via Instant Teleportation. He struck out with his palm, and his tyrannical Blood River True Qi shattered the fire-shield to pieces.

The surviving female ghosts had been certain of their deaths. Seeing a handsome stranger descend like a god, they were all too stunned to react.

Jiang Mu’s gaze swept over the ghosts, but he didn’t see the familiar figure. His heart sank, and he asked sharply:

"Where is Yu Xiaoqian?!"

One of the female ghosts stammered:

"After the Matriarch left, Xiaoqian said she was going to save someone and ran off to the side courtyard by herself."

Save someone?

Realization dawned on Jiang Mu. A warm feeling washed through his heart, followed quickly by a sense of helplessness.

’That silly girl... she must have gotten the antidote for the corpse poison and used the chaos to run to that room to save me.’

Seeing the fragments of the sky falling like meteors, Jiang Mu no longer hesitated. He tapped his Buddha Lamp, drew out a few wisps of pure Incense and Candle Power, and flicked them into the female ghosts’ bodies.

The exhausted female ghosts felt a warmth spread through their Soul Bodies, and a good portion of their strength was instantly restored.

"Go, now! Rush out through the cracks in the sky!"
