True Incubus: The Demon with No Limits
Chapter 360: …I think we broke something.
"He planned this."
Lucian’s face turned ugly.
"It may not be his original plan but..."
"But he is using what he had planned for centuries to get what he currently wants."
Aurelia completed his sentence as she stared at Lucian.
After all, at this point, both of them knew what Neroth wanted. His screams couldn’t make it any more obvious.
"Credit where it’s due, you gotta love the commitment."
Lucian praised out loud.
To perform an incomplete resurrection, mess up an Ancient Vampire House’s Security System, use it to weaken the Vampires, all so he could spend the last day of his life hunting Lucian down.
If Neroth was one thing, he was dedicated.
Lucian was impressed.
Aurelia stared at him with a flat look on her face.
"...what did you even do to make him this angry?"
She asked.
"I ate his Heart."
Lucian answered as if it was the most natural thing in the world and Aurelia—
"...what?"
Her mind short-circuited.
She never once made the mistake of considering Lucian ’normal’, every time she interacted with him, she expected him to do something out of line but...
But this?
He ate an Archdemon’s Heart?
What in the hell was he thinking?
Lucian could see her face practically judging him.
"At that particular time, it made a lot of sense."
He tried to defend himself. The Vampire wasn’t having it. There was no world where she was going to believe that eating the Heart of an Archdemon was even a solution to anything.
"...how are you even alive?"
Aurelia asked with a strange look on her face.
That gave Lucian the chance to act pointlessly mysterious.
"I have many secrets, secrets you have yet to fathom."
Aurelia’s mouth twitched in annoyance.
"Lucia—"
She called his name, or she was about to, but before she could complete it, someone else beat her to it.
"LUCIAN!!!!"
Neroth screamed again.
This time, he was much, much closer.
Both Lucian and Aurelia’s focus shifted to the angry Archdemon.
"He’s angry."
Lucian commented.
"Is he? Sounded pretty friendly to me."
Aurelia rolled her eyes.
"Sarcasm, wow."
Lucian praised.
Then, as he sensed the section they were in tremble, the humour on his face disappeared.
"So, what do we know so far?"
He asked out loud, then, before Aurelia could answer, he answered his own question.
"A maddened Archdemon took over Arcelis Estate, all the Vampires here are weakened beyond reason, so we can’t count on their help. We can’t count on outside help either since the Archdemon has somehow apparently activated an Ancient Formation, making it impossible for anyone to come in.
What about others? Were there any humans, witches or wolves here?"
"Those who were here returned after the Gala."
Aurelia answered.
"So what you are saying is...
There is no one capable of fighting him."
Aurelia looked at him.
Lucian looked back innocently, then, he realised the meaning of her gaze and...
"Me...?"
Aurelia kept staring at him as if it was obvious.
"You saw me, I can barely stand straight."
"And I can barely stand.
Who do you think has it better?"
"...makes sense."
Lucian couldn’t deny the logic.
BOOOOOOOOOM
Just then, they heard another explosion. The chamber they were in trembled much more strongly than before. If things stayed like this, the chamber would collapse.
"...so it’s really happening, huh."
Lucian muttered.
Then—
"Whatever.
Let’s do this."
His eyes changed.
This was... exciting.
It was a little earlier than he would like, but Lucian was dying to test his new strength on a worthy opponent.
BOOOOOOOOOOM
RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE
THAM
Just then, another explosion sounded. The chamber shuddered and a part of the ceiling fell off. The entire thing really was about to come down.
"We don’t have time."
Aurelia spoke as she extended her other hand towards Lucian as well, gesturing to him to carry her.
"...this would have been so much more interesting some other time."
Lucian lamented the missed opportunity, but then he held Aurelia as carefully as possible and looked up.
"We need to be extra careful."
It wasn’t because of the ceiling. A falling ceiling wouldn’t be the end of them, even if they were in the state they were. What Lucian needed to be careful about were his own powers.
He then shook his head, preparing his mind one final time. Then, his ridiculously dense demonic energy moved inside his new body.
He wanted to form a spherical barrier around them.
And he did form one.
Just that...
The barrier was completely opaque, the energy used to form it was so dense that the resulting barrier was far, far, far stronger than any barrier Lucian had ever created. It was a good thing, of course, it just had... a slight inconvenience.
He couldn’t see anything outside.
And it was completely dark inside.
Aurelia stared at him with a flat look on her face, both Lucian and she didn’t have a problem with the dark, Vampires were creatures of the dark, so Aurelia was already used to it. As for Lucian...
Seeing less was the least of his worries right now, his vision was much, much clearer.
"We gotta work with what we have, be prepared."
Lucian shrugged as he held Aurelia even more gently, then, his demonic energy moved outside.
The plan was simple, he was going to use telekinesis to move them outside.
And the plan worked.
Just that...
FWOOOSH
Instead of the slow flight Lucian was planning, the sphere they were in shot outside, shattering the ceiling into pieces, destroying the entire chamber, before finally shooting out of the ground and reaching into the sky.
And when all this happened, the only thing Lucian and Aurelia felt inside their barrier was... a slight vibration.
"...I think we broke something."
Lucian spoke in a low voice.
"Must be something delicate."
Aurelia stared at him with a flat look on her face. Lucian then removed the barrier around them and as he did—
The two of them noticed they were hovering in the air, beneath them was the destroyed Arcelis Estate and...
Varek.
"LUCIAN!!!!"
