Trick Him Into Divorce, Then Flee With His Unknow Kid
Chapter 475 Who is Trevor?
Chapter 475: Chapter 475 Who is Trevor?
The moment Rose heard the voice behind her, her temples began to throb.
She slowly turned around.
Ryan stood in the doorway.
He had one hand on the IV pole beside him, using it for support as he stood there.
He was still wearing a dark knit cap that covered the back of his head, hiding most of the surgical site beneath it.
His face was pale, and there was still a trace of exhaustion in his features.
He looked nothing like the powerful, untouchable Ryan everyone was used to seeing.
His eyes were cool and distant as he looked at Diana.
But the moment his gaze landed on Rose, that coldness eased.
Diana blinked.
She looked Ryan up and down.
"You really don’t remember me?"
Ryan gave her a brief glance.
"No."
There was no embarrassment in his answer.
No attempt to pretend otherwise.
His attention immediately returned to Rose.
"Who is Trevor?"
Diana’s mouth fell open slightly.
Of all the things he could have asked...
That was still the only thing he cared about.
She cleared her throat.
"Forget Trevor for a second."
She pointed toward Rose.
"Do you know who she is?"
Ryan didn’t even hesitate.
"She’s my wife."
Diana froze.
Liam looked at her.
Charlotte looked at Ryan.
Rose closed her eyes briefly.
Diana finally turned toward Liam and grabbed his arm.
"Am I awake?"
Liam blinked.
"Unfortunately, yes."
"Then why does he remember that she’s his wife?"
Liam glanced toward Ryan.
"Technically, he doesn’t remember."
Diana stared at him.
"That somehow makes it worse."
Ryan ignored them.
He stepped closer to Rose and gently took her hand.
"She’s my wife."
He looked directly at Diana.
"Isn’t that what you asked?"
Diana stared at their joined hands.
Then she looked at Rose.
Rose could only give her a helpless look.
"It’s difficult to explain."
"Clearly."
Diana’s eyes narrowed with amusement.
"But I still want to know who Trevor is."
Ryan’s fingers tightened slightly around Rose’s hand.
His gaze shifted toward her.
"Who is he?"
Rose sighed.
"Diana..."
"What?"
Diana lifted both hands innocently.
"I’m only asking."
Ryan’s expression remained calm.
But his eyes didn’t leave Rose.
"Is he someone you’re seeing?"
Rose’s brows furrowed.
"No."
"Someone you used to see?"
"It’s complicated."
Ryan’s jaw tightened.
"An ex?"
Rose didn’t answer.
He looked down at their intertwined hands.
The divorce still didn’t make sense to him.
If Rose had once been his wife, and everything inside him still insisted that she belonged beside him, why had they separated?
And if she had moved on afterward...
Who had she moved on with?
Ryan looked at her again.
"Is Trevor your boyfriend?"
"No."
His shoulders relaxed slightly.
Before Rose could say anything else, Diana suddenly smiled.
"Not now."
Ryan looked at her.
Diana continued cheerfully, "But if you’re asking whether Rose has had other men interested in her..."
She shrugged.
"Of course."
Rose shot her a warning look.
"Diana."
"What?"
Diana smiled innocently.
"She’s smart, successful, beautiful, and single."
Ryan’s expression darkened.
Diana couldn’t help enjoying it.
She had spent years watching Rose suffer because of this man.
For once, seeing Ryan look unsettled was satisfying.
"Besides," Diana added, "you two are divorced. You can’t exactly expect her to spend the rest of her life waiting for you."
Ryan’s eyes lowered.
He didn’t respond.
But Rose could see the tension gathering in his face.
Charlotte glanced at Diana.
She understood exactly what Diana was doing.
And, annoyingly, she couldn’t even blame her.
Diana had witnessed too much of Rose’s suffering to suddenly forget it just because Ryan had lost his memory.
Liam quickly stepped in.
"Didi, let’s get our luggage put away."
He took Diana gently by the arm.
She resisted.
"I’m not finished."
"You can continue later."
Diana looked at Ryan one last time.
"Don’t worry too much."
Her smile was far too innocent.
"Rose has always been popular."
Ryan’s expression became even more unreadable.
Liam sighed and led Diana away.
As they disappeared down the corridor, Charlotte lingered.
She looked at Ryan.
Then at Rose.
Then back at Ryan.
"I can’t speak for everyone else," she said, "but I can confirm one thing."
Ryan looked at her.
"Rose has never lacked people interested in her."
She smiled.
"And considering your history, I’d say you probably have a lot to worry about."
Then she turned on her heel and walked away.
Rose stared after her.
One by one, they had all decided to make Ryan’s morning worse.
She turned back.
Ryan was still looking at her.
His expression was unusually quiet.
Rose checked the time.
"I have work waiting for me in the United States. Unless something changes medically, I’ll probably need to go back within the next day or two."
Ryan immediately answered, "Then I’ll go with you."
Rose looked at him.
"You’ll need to stay here for rehabilitation first."
"I’ll go when you go."
"Ryan—"
"Wherever you go, I’ll go."
There was no aggression in his voice.
Just certainty.
Rose studied him for a moment.
He was still pale.
Still weak.
Still relying on the IV.
She couldn’t argue with him while he was in this condition.
"We’ll discuss it once you’re stronger."
Ryan nodded.
"Okay."
"Now go back to bed."
"Okay."
His willingness to cooperate was almost suspicious.
Rose took his arm and guided him back toward the room.
Once he was sitting safely on the edge of the bed, she turned toward the bedside table.
She was about to pour him some water when his hand caught hers.
Rose stopped.
Ryan’s fingers slowly slipped between hers.
He looked down at their joined hands.
Then he lifted his eyes to her.
"Do you have someone else?"
Rose blinked.
"What?"
"Someone you’re with now."
His voice was quiet.
"Do you have a boyfriend?"
