Su Yu glanced at Xing Yue. He couldn't be bothered to care about her attitude. With a wave of his hand, a chair manifested as he said, "Take a seat. Don't waste any time."

"Hmph!"

Was she supposed to sit down just because he asked for it?

Nope!

And thus, she remained standing. Su Yu couldn't be bothered to say more. He was merely being polite, but he didn't care if she wanted to remain standing.

He wasted no time and asked, "Have you seen Human Emperor?"

"Of course."

"Is he injured?"

"Feels like it. But when I asked him about it, he claimed that he was fine."

Su Yu thought about it and nodded, "If he's saying this to even a master of life and death like you, there's probably no hope for him anymore."

"..."

Xing Yue blinked. What?

Su Yu was now certain that Human Emperor's situation was dire. As the master of life and death, regular injuries shouldn't be able to stump Xing Yue. Either she was still too weak to help him or his injuries had reached a level of hopelessness.

Those were the only two possibilities here.

Instead of going down the same line of questioning, Su Yu asked something else, "What are the numbers of Masters of Laws on both sides? Are there others apart from the Masters of Laws?"

"Forty-two on humanity's side, but I don't know about the myriad races. We also have eighty or so marquises."

Just like that, Xing Yue had revealed everything to Su Yu.

Forty-two?

That wasn't a high number.

One ought to know that back then, humanity had thirty-six human kings. Including Radiant King and Human Emperor, they would have thirty-eight Masters of Laws. Including Xing Yue, they would have thirty-nine. And including two hundred or so human marquises...

The number of Masters of Laws had increased, but only a third of the human marquises remained. One ought to remember that these were all elites of the elites. There was no doubting that.

Furthermore, Human Emperor was suffering from heavy injuries. It was likely that his strength had declined.

"What about the myriad races?"

"I don't know..." Xing Yue said, "It has been many years since they fought a major battle. The myriad races have produced some new Masters of Laws, but they are keeping these people hidden away. Of course, humanity is also hiding, not giving the myriad races the chance to see through our real strength. It is likely that they have around 120 right now. Back then, they had a far higher number of marquises."

"120 Masters of Laws?"

"Possibly."

Su Yu frowned, "In other words, humanity has stagnated while the myriad races have gained more than ten over the years..."

Originally, the myriad races had ninety-nine assembly members. They also had additional Masters of Laws outside the assembly. The rate of growth was similar for both sides...but this was definitely not good for humanity.

Su Yu asked, "Why are the myriad races still waiting instead of launching a decisive battle? They have the advantage over humanity over there."

"Fear. They don't want to die." Xing Yue said, "Their strongest emperors have also been seriously injured by my elder brother. Like him, they have been hiding for many years as well."

Only the best of the best could handle Human Emperor. But those people were also heavily injured. Thus, they wouldn't dare to make any rash moves.

Su Yu frowned, "Only that? Also, what about our allies among the myriad races? Why have you not mentioned them? Are they all with the myriad races?"

"I never asked..."

"I guess I never should have placed my hope on you."

Su Yu didn't know what to say about that. How could she leave out something so important?

He quickly moved on and said, "I might go upstream to save you in the near future, Lord! But I'm worried about unforeseen variables. I won't summon you anymore after this. That will be too conspicuous. Instead, I will ripple the life and death daos in our usual secret code. At the time, just tell the Human Emperor about it. Remember, only tell him and nobody else."

"Oh." Xing Yue answered instinctively before adding coldly, "Hmph. I will tell whoever I want."

Crazy.

Su Yu ignored that remark. Such was Xing Yue. He was already used to it.

Su Yu said, "Ask Human Emperor if he needs anything in specific. Or ask him if there is anything he needs to help with his recovery. I'll find a way to provide him with some support."

"Also, try asking...

The conversation went on for a while. Eventually, Su Yu noticed the violent shaking of Xing Yue's projection and said, "That's all for now. You can go back."

"That's it?" Xing Yue was furious, "You only called me over for this?"

No shit!

Why else would he call her over?

But after a short thought, Su Yu added, "One more thing, ask Human Emperor if he wants me to go with the Human Mountain as well."

"..."

With a snort, Xing Yue turned around to leave.

Behind her, Su Yu's laughter rang out, "And finally, please take good care of yourself, Lord. If a decisive battle does happen, retreat first. Just tell them you're leaving to seek reinforcement. Make sure not to die. My life and death daos will fall apart without you."

"Hmph!"

With another snort, Xing Yue vanished. Nobody knew if she was really dissatisfied or not.

Su Yu shrugged. But slowly, his expression turned grave again. Just what had those people been doing? Even after so many years, their enemies still had over a hundred Masters of Laws. Clearly, Human Emperor was playing a dangerous game.

"The gap between the two is too big. In that case, it is likely that the myriad races are not fully united. There are probably internal conflicts among themselves, just like the myriad races out here."

If Human Emperor were fine, Su Yu only needed to go with dozens of Masters of Laws for humanity to secure victory.

Alas, Human Emperor wasn't fine. Since he hadn't even bothered to receive Xing Yue's healing, it was clear his condition was very bad.

"This is so troublesome."

With his current strength, it would be completely pointless for Su Yu to go upstream. He was better off waiting for them to return naturally. By that time, the Hell Gate would open as well. The world would be thrown into chaos.

"What now? Is there anything I can do about this?"

Su Yu racked his brain to think of more ways to grow the strength on their side.

In fact, the best method was to enter the Heaven Gate and get Culture King, Martial King, and Time Sage out. With those three, the myriad races would probably start trembling in fear.

Unfortunately, that wasn't an option.

"Culture King..."

Su Yu muttered to himself. There was no way to accomplish that. Perhaps...he could consider pretending to be Culture King? And...he could have Martial Emperor disguise himself as Martial King?

But Martial Emperor needed to reach the second tier for the disguise to be more convincing. Together, they could pretend to be Culture and Martial Kings and cause the myriad races to tremble with fear.

Su Yu thought about it. This might work. According to the power classification back then, Martial King was only a tier two. Martial Emperor wasn't too far from that level. He shouldn't have much trouble pretending to be Martial King.

"I can note this down as one of the potential plans."

The myriad races would definitely not dare to launch the decisive battle with the presence of Martial King and Culture King. However, this wasn't a lie they could keep forever.

Su Yu's head was aching. Was there anything left in the Myriad Realms capable of giving him the boost he needed? Well, there was the Human Emperor's dao.

"Human Emperor's dao is relatively undeveloped, but it's still a product of creation. Eating the whole thing might give me a boost. But...I don't know if he'll simply drop dead the moment that dao is gone."

After considering numerous factors, Su Yu decided to not devour the Human Emperor's dao. Then, he took a bamboo stick out.

Human Ancestor's bamboo stick.

This might be the final option left in the Myriad Realms. It was unknown who among Heavendoom and the others could become a Master of Law first. If he was lucky, he might be able to gain a tier-three Master of Law out of this. As for getting a tier two out of this, the difficulty would be rather high.

"Perhaps...I can try again."

Su Yu's eyes gleamed. What should he try again?

He could try resurrecting Death Spirit King (Death Imperator).

Should he?

Death Imperator was already a tier four. Each death spirit would have half their essence left in the river. Upon resurrection, Death Spirit King would probably be a tier three.

At least tier three.

Furthermore, Su Yu's own growth also signified that he wouldn't be as helpless against the Master of the Perished.

"But that will probably offend the Master of Death fully. I'm essentially stealing the strongest being of his dao away from him."

Whatever.

The more Su Yu thought about this plan, the more tempted he was. This would instantly provide him with a premier combatant.

Martial Emperor could reach the second tier. Su Yu himself was already a tier two. The bamboo stick could produce a tier three or stronger. Death Spirit King would at least be a tier three upon resurrection.

There was also the chaos dragon, who was at the stronger end of tier four. He could probably be pushed to the third tier with some help. All that would greatly elevate the combat strength on Su Yu's side.

"More importantly, I can even take this chance to give Liu Hong a massive boost. I can expand his dao during the resurrection."

The more Su Yu thought about it, the better this idea seemed. He only needed to resurrect one person this time. In any case, the Death Realm was running out of powerhouses.

"By the time I'm done resurrecting that guy, the time to go upstream will be near..."

Su Yu could feel it. Some of the people in his world were on the verge of breaking through. Sure enough, some people needed pressure to actually grow.
