The demon that heard this did not respond further, closing his eyes and resting quietly within the cage inside the mirror.

The nearby Shadow Robe glanced at Alka, wanting to remind him that this demon had cursed terribly back then, but now seemed to have accepted his inevitable fate of death and was too tired to curse anymore.

"I’ve made some progress recently in my power; pray that I can get what I desire from you.

Otherwise, I’ll have to capture more of your kin."

"Heh, then I hope you capture more of them."

Hearing this, Alka shrugged helplessly: "Then you should be praying more for my success, for that way, more of your kin will suffer."

As Alka spoke, his eyes turned golden, and he reached out his hand toward the demon in the mirror to begin extracting.

New energy surged into the mirror.

The demon, originally resigned, suddenly widened his eyes in horror.

"What did you do to me? What are you taking from me?"

A demon who no longer feared death suddenly panicked and became terrified.

At last, he realized.

"No! Give it back, return that thing to me! The Abyss won’t spare you!"

Then came increasingly vile curses.

A chain of spatial locks bound the demon’s body, but Alka remained unmoved.

As he extracted, a large quantity of abyssal aura gushed from the demon’s body, filling the entire cage.

And a mass, flickering with a nauseating aura, was pulled out from him.

The Shadow Robe stood wide-eyed witnessing this, if he had eyes.

He knew this thing all too well.

It looked very similar, extremely alike.

Bear in mind that Shadow Robe had a role responsible for stripping the divinity from treasures.

He also had his own research on divinity.

He believed he wasn’t mistaken; what Alka extracted was some form of divinity.

Or rather, something similar to divinity.

But certainly not the divine essence of this world, because the divine essence of this world would absolutely not be compatible with this demon.

And now.

Alka actually stole the demon’s divinity from inside him.

However, the scene now looked more like a robbery.

The demon frantically struggled, using almost all the power he could muster, causing the entire mirror to shake violently.

And that divinity was still connected to his body by several thread-like strands of aura.

Through Alka’s slow pull, that orb resembling divine essence moved further and further away from the demon.

Until the last thread of soul energy broke.

"Ahhhhh!"

At the moment of breaking, the demon emitted a horribly tragic scream.

His entire body turned to ash.

And his soul scattered into disorderly soul-like matter, with his consciousness vanished.

Alka gazed at the divinity extracted from the mirror.

At some point.

Around the stone where the throne was located, was almost densely packed with defensive mirrors that shielded nearly all perception.

Adding the position within the Otherworld’s Dream Realm, the Abyss was almost impossible to perceive what was happening here.

"Your Majesty... What is that you hold in your hand...?"

It was the first time Alka saw Shadow Robe so flustered.

"Calm down, my friend. This is a piece of divine essence from the Abyssal World; it doesn’t look too different from ours."

"Yes, yes, but the question is, how did you extract such a thing from him?"

Shadow Robe was puzzled deeply.

"Very simple, after killing many demons; facing these demons, I’m always researching how to eliminate them thoroughly.

Once I used the power of the Dream Realm, forcibly dragging a demon into it, then killed him.

Under these circumstances, I discovered there’s something that leaves the body faster than his soul, almost the instant he died."

Alka said, pointing to his own eyes.

The eyes that can see through secrets made Alka acutely aware of this escaping power.

Later, Alka began purposefully seeking.

And indeed found it.

It only appears on powerful demons above high-level, a kind of energy entity that escapes.

Which is beyond the 7th stage and above.

Alka suspects seriously that it is divine essence, though wrapped in intense abyssal aura, he sometimes sensed it through some cracks and traces.

"Since these demons contain divinity, though it is the Abyssal divine essence,

yet since the Abyss can seize others’, why can’t I take a little sneak myself?

After all, I have the capability, don’t I? Naturally, I wanted to try, so I’ve been experimenting under what circumstances I can acquire it."

Saying this, Alka looked at the divine essence in hand, then pointed at the mess of soul remnants in the mirror cage.

"Looks like I’ve succeeded." Alka said with a smile.

"Though it was indeed challenging."

As Alka seemed very willing to explain, he continued: "First, you have to stay far from the Abyss, best far enough that it doesn’t detect the demon.

You also have to wash off the connection between this demon and the Abyss as much as possible; bear in mind I’ve been observing this demon for a long time, consistently and subtly stealing the abyssal aura from him.
