Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer
Chapter 1322 - 522: Calamity of Flesh and Blood (Part 3)
Hearing this, Bishop Safleff thought for a moment, nodded, and then looked at Akka and his group, saying, "Another team has arrived. They might be able to help us get rid of the flesh on the island. They are the helpers I invited."
"So if you don’t mind, join us. They also need to know what’s happening here."
Hearing this, Akka nodded, "Of course, no problem at all."
Then Akka and the others followed the bishop’s group to the other side, where a peculiar ship was docked.
The ship was about 30 meters long, but the strange thing was that its bottom was quite high, seemingly having a deep draft, and the cabin was large, shaped somewhat like a crescent moon.
A very peculiar ship structure, and it was already proven that it was made with some kind of special power since it wasn’t submerged.
It was surrounded by magical elements, with all sorts of spells.
Even the sails were engraved with spells, and the materials of the entire ship seemed quite expensive.
Otherwise, if it was made like a regular ship, how could it possibly navigate the Endless Sea? It would easily capsize in normal waters.
Then, on the steel deck before them, a teleportation array appeared in thin air.
With the twist of the teleportation array, a group of people dressed in pale blue robes, covered in densely drawn spells that were hard to understand, appeared.
Such a short distance, yet they still teleport?
The leader took off the hood, revealing an old man with white beards.
The old man’s beard hung all the way down to his waist, looking meticulously groomed.
He emitted the aura of an old scholar from head to toe.
He walked over, looking at Safleff.
Then he glanced at the mysterious Flesh Island in the distance.
"You old fart, looks like you’ve made a big mistake, that doesn’t seem like something easily solved."
Hearing this, it was clear that the two had known each other for a long time.
Safleff also sighed helplessly, having lost count of how many times he sighed recently.
The situations during this period made him start acknowledging his age.
Though he still appeared energetic.
"Alright, if it weren’t such a serious problem, I wouldn’t have called you."
With that, he led the old man and his two similarly dressed companions, along with Akka and the others, into a conference room.
The hall inside was very simple, but very much in the style of the Holy Machine Church.
The people naturally settled into their seats.
The bishop sat at the main seat, lightly tapping the table after everyone had taken their places.
Then everyone in the conference room quieted down.
With limited seats, many people stood around the edge.
He first introduced the group in blue robes to Akka and his team.
"They are members of the Secret Spellcasting Council. This is Chairperson Anres, a long-time friend of mine."
Akka looked at this old man and nodded, "Hello."
Chairperson Anres also nodded politely.
Then he introduced Akka and his group, "They are members of the Compass Eye Treasure Hunting Team, led by Master Akka. They are here for some important business."
Hearing this, Chairperson Anres couldn’t help but widen his eyes, appearing quite surprised.
"You’re the treasure craftsman, Akka?"
Hearing this, Akka smiled and nodded.
His gaze then fell on Lucilia, who was sitting cross-legged on Akka’s shoulder.
"Then this must be Scholar Lucilia."
Lucilia, hearing this, turned her observant eyes toward him and nodded.
"Hello."
"Hello, hello." The old man nodded repeatedly.
Evidently, for these scholar-type individuals, Lucilia was much more attractive than Akka, the treasure craftsman.
Safleff seemed to have realized something and, to prevent the conversation from going off-topic, quickly knocked on the table, saying, "Let’s discuss the most urgent issue first."
Hearing this, both sides quieted down, focusing on him.
"The Flesh Island formed about half a month ago, very suddenly, with the outbreak point being a shop basement in the town center."
"During the outbreak, a strong sinister aura could be felt disturbing the entire island. Then some of the island’s residents mutated into flesh-like monsters under this aura.
Our investigation shows that these residents weren’t affected by the aura; it was just a trigger as they had already been planted with seeds long before.
However, the strength of these monsters is mostly below Tier Two, not very threatening. The only threat they posed was their highly regenerative bodies, hard to destroy.
But then, the source of the outbreak started growing flesh, which spread madly. We exhausted every means—fire, Holy Light, even the power of thunder—but nothing could obliterate these flesh pieces."
The bishop sighed at this point.
"Soon, flesh pieces began erupting everywhere, and they swiftly connected to each other, becoming even more troublesome.
Everything happened too fast, within less than half an hour; we had no time to mount an effective resistance.
Many former residents of the island transformed into flesh creatures during this outbreak, plunging the entire island into chaos.
Some corpses merged, transforming into stronger flesh monsters.
There aren’t many soldiers or strong individuals on the island, because just a week before, we had sent away a group of members to support the World Scar."
Clearly, the enemy’s attack was premeditated, targeting the time when their defenses were weakest.
Akka couldn’t help but think.
"Our investigation over this period suggests that the cause is a cult group, worshipping some kind of Evil God.
But there are too many cult groups, so we haven’t been able to determine which Evil God they believe in.
Now, these flesh monsters occupy the entire island and are hard to eliminate. The main problem is the Flesh Island resembles a weapon factory, continuously creating those flesh monsters.
Though most of these flesh monsters are still easy to eliminate,
yet it seems to be expanding, even starting to catch fish, and more fearfully, has begun creating flesh monsters of the ocean."
Upon hearing this, everyone present couldn’t help but furrow their brows.
