Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer
Chapter 1316 - 520: War of the Gods_3
The rich aroma spread across the deck and over the surrounding sea.
Alka drained a cup of wine and leaned back in the chair to rest.
He had eaten a bit too much.
Suddenly, his vision went black.
Alka entered a world of pure darkness.
"Again?"
He knew this scene all too well—it was a revelation from the Holy Mother.
He had to admit, judging from this experience, the Holy Mother’s control over these revelations was getting more and more adept.
"I keep feeling like I’ve become some sort of test subject," Alka thought to himself silently.
The images of the revelation spread before him like drifting mist.
Seeing the patterns in the vision, Alka’s eyes widened, his brows knitting tightly together.
What appeared in the vision was an unknown place, but above that unknown place Alka saw—he saw their target, a Tower of Trial.
Yet the scene on the Island made Alka’s brows furrow further as he muttered inwardly that this was bad.
A battle was raging on the Island—a vast tangle of flesh, strange limbs of all kinds, and monsters fused with metal were slaughtering the living beings on the Island.
Some powerful figures were resisting.
Knights bearing the emblem of the Holy Machine Church were fighting back.
Then the vision shifted again. This was another Island. From its shape one could tell it should be a Landmark Island.
But the current appearance of this Landmark Island filled Alka with disgust.
The surface of the Island was covered in countless clumps of flesh, like monsters formed from interwoven blood vessels and fascia.
All around, many ships could be seen firing their guns, bombarding the Island-like monster.
The monster stretched out one thick tentacle after another, lashing wildly around it.
On that enormous creature fused with the Island were countless other monsters the size of normal humans, exactly like those Alka had just seen on the Trial Island.
It was entirely possible they had come from this thing.
Then the vision dispersed.
Alka’s thoughts broke free of the dark space and returned to the outside world.
His hand still held the wine cup, but the expression on his face had grown grave.
He glanced at his companions around him and quickly adjusted his expression.
Blending back in among them.
When the banquet ended and everything around had been tidied up, Alka quietly ordered the Sound of Dawn to increase speed.
The next morning, when everyone woke from their hangovers—
Alka was already waiting for them in the conference room.
With the ringing of the bell—
Everyone, bleary-eyed, filed into the conference room one after another.
"What’s wrong? Something happened this early in the morning?" Jason rubbed his eyes and asked.
Ulu Liwus still hung on his back, her head bumping against his shoulder as she dozed.
Once everyone had arrived, Alka rapped the table with a solemn expression.
Seeing Alka’s serious face, everyone knew it probably wasn’t a minor issue. Jason immediately reached out and slapped Ulu Liwus’s cheeks to wake her up a little.
Then Alka closed his eyes, and a Mirror appeared in the center of the tabletop.
The image within the Mirror began to shift.
What appeared was precisely the revelation Alka had seen yesterday.
As the vision flowed, their expressions grew increasingly tense.
"Which Tower of Trial is this?"
Alka shook his head. "From just these two images, there’s no way to tell. We have to be prepared—something has definitely gone wrong somewhere."
The others nodded.
"We even need to be ready for the possibility that this is the very problem at our current destination."
After all, the timing of this revelation was far too coincidental.
Revelations were not prophecy, but visions of things already happening, simply extracted and transmitted into Alka’s mind.
As the Holy Mother grew more proficient at controlling the revelations, they were no longer as hazy and indistinct as before, when no one could be sure what the images were actually showing.
In other words, it was very likely that this revelation was showing the place They were about to reach, and that their destination was undergoing exactly the changes and conditions depicted—a colossal crisis.
They needed to make preparations in advance, or things would become far too troublesome when they arrived.
And they were less than a month away from their destination.
Much could be gleaned from the images, and they began discussing them among themselves.
From the buildings not yet fully engulfed upon the flesh-wrapped Island, to the many ships attacking around it, it was clear that the Holy Machine Church was organizing an assault.
Once their discussion ended, Alka looked toward Simon. "Seems we need to prepare a weapon capable of dealing massive lethal damage to large-scale creatures."
"Do you have any blueprints we could draw on?"
Simon nodded. "I do, and quite a few."
Then the meeting adjourned.
Alka did not enter the Dream Realm, but instead joined Simon in the laboratory within the small world.
When night fell once more—
This time, the sky underwent a change never before seen.
It forced Alka and Simon to leave the laboratory and stare up at the transformation unfolding overhead.
At the instant the curtain of night dropped—
The Star River spread across the sky, as it always did.
But now, two moons hung in the firmament.
One was the same pristine, radiant white moon as before.
The other was a white moon tinged with faint blue—a moon the likes of which had never been seen.
"Pale blue... pale blue. I swear I’ve seen it somewhere before." Chadite frowned, thinking hard.
"I remember now—it’s the moon from the Golden Era!" Lucilia seemed to recall something and suddenly shouted.
At that moment, moonlight poured down, and they could see the attendants of that never-before-seen moon in the sky—its light cascading down.
That moonlight gathered on the deck, like illusory motes of light, condensing into a human silhouette.
It was a phantom figure, a form none of them had ever seen. The group immediately grew alert.
