Roske said, hearing this, Alka waved his hand.

"If there’s anything that can help, please feel free to say it. Then we won’t disturb you any longer."

Both nodded, bade farewell, and watched the two leave in a hurry.

Alka and his companions also followed the mountain path downwards.

Soon everyone returned to the ship.

The Sound of Dawn sailed out of the port directly, heading toward its destination.

Alka’s group simply stood on the deck, gazing at the towering mountain peak that was gradually shrinking.

"Linton’s dead, it’s a pity, he was a rare warrior," Pororo said, looking at the information at hand.

The news from the World Scar dampened everyone’s spirits.

Because the casualties from the Holy Mother Church alone included many familiar names, not to mention those from other factions.

Silently facing the sea breeze.

Staring at the sea ahead.

Everyone took out bottles of alcohol and began pouring them into the sea water, which was the only way they could pay tribute.

...

After only a few days, Alka and the others arrived at the location on the map.

They saw the tall Tower of Trial from a distance.

"Hmm, another Tower of Trial, once this one’s collected it’ll be the fourth," Jason said, looking at it in the distance with a smile.

Alka nodded: "With this, we’ve collected one-third."

It took nearly two years.

Only because the first three towers were relatively close.

A gentle breeze blew by.

The bright sky was suddenly covered as if by a curtain.

Entering into night.

Tonight’s sky had, besides a full moon, only some scattered stars forming a star river.

Looks like tonight is a good time for Chadite’s meditation.

Suddenly, Alka furrowed his brow and gently sniffed the air.

Before Alka could speak or think, Ulu Liwus called out not far away: "The scent of blood? How strong is this scent of blood; it’s human blood."

Hearing this, everyone frowned immediately.

The fact that the scent could be carried so far by the sea breeze meant it was dense enough.

After all, Ulu Liwus, though a giant dragon, didn’t have a sense of smell that strong, just stronger than theirs.

Ulu Liwus sniffed lightly afterwards, pointing to the direction of the Tower of Trial.

"It’s on the island."

Upon hearing this, everyone couldn’t help but look at each other.

"Something might have happened—there’s a group of guarding knights on the Trial Island."

"Chadite, Jason, and Ulu Liwus pull us together towards it. The rest stay on the ship alert, fast travel."

Alka immediately gave orders.

Everyone nodded.

Ulu Liwus transformed into a dragon, lightly flapping her wings, clouds gathering around, dragging Alka and the others along rapidly towards the island.

Soon they arrived at the island’s edge, dropping directly to its edge for safety.

If they rushed in, they might fall into an ambush.

As soon as Chadite landed, silver ripples quickly spread from her feet to afar, covering nearly the entire island.

The scent of blood in the air was unusually pungent.

Moreover, this scent was fresh enough, not old blood, meaning the blood had spilled recently.

At most half a day ago.

Such a heavy scent, those so-called knights were likely doomed.

The three separated slightly, swiftly moving forward.

"No feedback on living beings’ presence... detected corpses... A total of 18 corpses, dressed as Holy Mother Church knights.

It matches the number of knights we know were stationed here."

Chadite had received the feedback of the waves.

Soon everyone saw their first corpse.

This was an ordinary knight, with a power level of about the Third Stage when alive. A bloody hole pierced his chest, blood flowing from it, and his ripped-out heart was crushed, discarded beside him.

He was killed instantly without any resistance, from the front.

His eyes wide open, unwilling in death.

Another ripple feedback.

"It’s demons, there are demons on the island."

Chadite’s probe detected the presence of demons.

"Why isn’t there the scent of the abyss?" Ulu Liwus asked, puzzled.

Ulu Liwus is extremely sensitive to the scent of the abyss, so she shouldn’t miss it if there was a demon here.

Chadite merely shook her head at this.

Finally, everyone bypassed the corpses, heading quickly towards the base of the tower.

Corpses appeared one after another beside them, none of the knights had the power to resist, all killed instantly with hardly any battle traces nearby.

Here was stationed a squad of Wheat Knights, and two regular knight teams.

The regular knight teams had a power level of the Third Stage, the Wheat Knights were mostly at the Fourth Stage.

To instantly kill the Fourth Stage implies this demon’s power must be at least the Sixth Stage.

Thinking of the Sixth Stage, along with sensing demons, Alka furrowed his brow at once.

The Sixth Stage and yet no scent of the abyss, arriving here.

"Could it be... the Maw of Devour?"

"Congratulations, correct answer!"
