<2 roles for 1 person and the chaotic Demon World (6)>

The Third Evil where Cale is the hidden boss.

The Ghost of Darkness, Ruiphe, was the original boss.

“Human, that was Ruiphe’s territory?”

“Yeah. It’s still his territory.”

Count Ruiphe.

He was killed by the Demon King’s side and ended up as a New World NPC through experiments by the Transparent Bloods.

“Cale-nim.”

Cale, who was crouching and hiding on a tree, didn’t even turn toward the voice. But Clopeh was not the type to be affected by Cale’s reaction.

“Based on what I have heard, the situation in that territory is complicated right now.”

“That’s right. It is very complicated.”

As the leader of one of the Demon World’s three greatest merchant guilds, Count Ruiphe was the wealthiest person in the Demon World.

– Wealthy!

He ignored the cheapskate’s reaction.

Aurora had told him something.

‘Although it is almost certain that Count Ruiphe-nim is dead, they have not been able to find his corpse. A lot of problems have risen because he is basically just missing.’

The current Demon King’s side tried to easily take away Count Ruiphe’s authority and wealth by killing him. They thought they would be able to take control of his merchant guild.

‘The Demon King’s side would have finished things cleanly if they found Count Ruiphe-nim’s secret safe and proof of ownership of the merchant guild.’

But they had not been able to find that proof of ownership.

The Demon King’s side was unable to take control of the merchant guild.

‘Because of that, Count Ruiphe-nim’s territory, Diorelle, has no master right now.’

In simple terms…

‘They have not been able to select the next territory lord.’

Since the Demon King had not been able to find what he wanted…

‘The Demon King is delaying choosing a territory lord because he is worried that the next lord would find Count Ruiphe’s secret safe and become the new master of the merchant guild.

The excuse he gave was that there was potential of the missing Count Ruiphe coming back.

“Cale-nim, I heard that Count Ruiphe’s missing state will soon be lifted.”

“Yeah. That’s right.”

But they could not leave the territory lord’s position empty forever.

So the Demon King had set a time limit for the missing state.

“…I heard about a month was left.”

His missing state would be lifted in about a month and Count Ruiphe would be considered dead. They were scheduled to select the next territory lord.

“Yes, Cale-nim. That is why Miss Aurora was planning on infiltrating the Lord’s Castle in a month after the new territory lord is selected.”

Count Ruiphe’s secret safe.

It was located in the Lord’s Castle.

That safe held the proof of ownership of the Demon World’s greatest merchant guild.

‘Young master Cale-nim, based on my discussions with Count Ruiphe-nim-’

Aurora had told Cale the general plan to swipe the proof.

‘Whether the new territory lord is on the Demon King’s side or not, the Demon King’s close confidants who are currently guarding the Lord’s Castle will move out for a bit.’

After not being able to find the proof after guarding the Lord’s Castle for a few years… They would temporarily withdraw from the Lord’s Castle to show respect to the authority of the new lord.

If the new territory lord is one of the Demon King’s confidants, the Demon King’s subordinates would most definitely move away. They would have no reason to stay.

“Based on what I had heard, one from Count Ruiphe’s count and one from the Demon King’s side. These two are expected to fight over the position of the next territory lord.”

Cale nodded his head and Clopeh continued.

Clopeh had gathered information about the Demon World from Aurora while Cale had been meeting with Choi Jung Gun.

“According to Miss Aurora, the two sides are quite even.”

“That is unexpected.”

Cale was looking at the castle walls and gate of Diorelle as well as the Lord’s Castle in the distance.

“It is because of the Count’s House of Ruiphe’s characteristics.”

Clopeh pointed to the East.

“As long as that river and a land path exists, the Demon King’s authority is not enough to counter this city’s strength.”

There was a large river to the East of the Lord’s Castle.

It was extremely wide as if many freeways were placed next to each other.

Quite a lot of ships were going back and forth on this lake with unfathomable depth.

And to the North of the territory…

There were roads as wide as that river carrying numerous supply carriages.

“Did they say mines?”

“Yes, Cale-nim. There are quite a lot of large mines in the northern part of Count Ruiphe’s territory as well as the nearby territories.”

The ores mined from these places went through this city and followed the river to different parts of the Demon World.

“Count Ruiphe’s family owns ownership shares in all of those mines. I heard there are lots of merchant guilds with ownership shares in the delivery as well.”

Because of this, the House of Ruiphe held a lot of power in Diorelle. Of course, these people could be pressured, but the Demon King could not do that because he was publicly claiming an open trade policy.

“Mm.”

Cale looked down.

“But the Church of the God of Chaos is in there?”

He had a square rock in his hand.

The rock with blood…

“One that is able to take in two Holy Knights at Choi Jung Soo’s level and numerous high ranking Holy Knights.”

If the Pope was in the Demon World as expected as well…

“What a mess.”

Diorelle.

This city of wealthy business and mines was probably chaos itself.

“There is one thing we are certain about, Cale-nim.”

Cale agreed with Clopeh.

“Yeah. Whether it is the person from Count Ruiphe’s collateral line or the current Demon King’s subordinate… One of them has aligned with the Church of the God of Chaos.”

“Yes, Cale-nim. Otherwise, it is impossible for a group with that much strength to stealthily infiltrate this place.”

Cale came to a conclusion.

“We need information.”

He recalled another piece of information Aurora had given him.

‘Count Ruiphe-nim said there is a reason he did not share the location of the secret safe with anybody else.’

Count Ruiphe had not even told his family about the location of this safe.

‘He could not tell them because he knew there are some greedy people who may do some sketchy things.’

Cale had remembered those words.

At that moment…

“Human, human.”

Raon, On, and Hong came over and whispered.

“Don’t you know the location of the secret safe?”

Clopeh’s eyes sparkled as he listened.

It was the same for the children averaging ten-years-old.

“Yeah. I do know.”

All four of their eyes sparkled brightly at Cale’s response.

Raon suddenly shouted.

“We save Sui Khan first! Then we can think about looting!”

Cale nonchalantly commented.

“I never said I was going to loot the secret safe.”

“Human, don’t fool yourself!”

‘Ha.’

Cale looked at Raon in disbelief.

‘Where is he learning these kinds of phrases?’

Raon, On, and Hong didn’t care about Cale’s expression and quickly decided what they needed to do.

“I’m sure it is chaotic inside the castle, nya. I think Hong and I will need to gather information, nya.”

“Noona, I can take care of approaching the merchant and stealing information, nya!”

On and Hong were planning a way to gather information based on how they had learned from Ron.

“Human, Clopeh. Both of you look at me.”

Raon knew what he needed to do too.

“I’ll dye both of your hair.”

Cale didn’t need to tell him.

“I’m sure that the Church of the God of Chaos has gathered information on our human and his friends after that chaos we caused at the Night of the Beginning! So we need to be careful!”

Ooooooooong-

Raon’s mana was still black even in the Demon World.

Having present as his attribute, Raon always had mana around him.

Shaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-

A breeze brushed by and Cale pulled off his hood.

Black hair brushed past his hand.

“It’s been a while.”

He had not had black hair in a while.

It reminded him of his years as Kim Rok Soo.

Since his body was in his early 20s, it reminded him of his life as Kim Rok Soo at that time.

“Hoo hoo. This is wonderful.”

Clopeh, who also had black hair, was laughing next to him.

It made Cale feel upset, but…

“Hehe! Both of you have my color!”

He just remained quiet after hearing Raon’s comment.

What else could he do when the kid was happy?

* * *

“Hooooo. Are you related?”

“…Yes, sir. We are.”

Cale answered in an unsettled voice.

“Wow. Black hair is not common so it is amazing that your whole family has black hair!”

The administrator raised the seal as he said that.

Slam!

The permission slip to enter the city was now in Cale’s hand.

He also received four identity plates back.

“Hoo hoo. Are you cousins?”

Cale opened his mouth to speak.

But Clopeh was faster.

“We are all siblings.”

“!”

Cale was surprised.

The administrator chatted with Clopeh now.

“You must be the eldest?”

“Haha, yes, I dare to be the eldest.”

“Excuse me? You dare?”

“Haha, it is nothing.”

Clopeh introduced himself as the eldest brother.

“This is our second brother.”

He cautiously patted Cale’s shoulder.

“She’s our third.”

On.

“And he is our fourth.”

Hong.

On and Hong also had black hair today.

“We have our youngest, the fifth, but-”

“He didn’t come with you?”

“Haha.”

Clopeh just laughed.

– Human, I’m the youngest! Clopeh seems decent, no, he seems a bit crazy right now! He’s even being considerate of me even though I am invisible!

Hehe.

Raon was excited.

– He said we are all siblings! Hehe! Even though you and I have such a gap in age, human! Clopeh is so funny!

“Pfft.”

“Hehe.”

As On and Hong held back laughter while looking at Cale’s face…

“Haaaaa.”

Cale let out a sigh and naturally entered Diorelle.

They were able to easily enter the city thanks to the identity plates that Aurora had prepared for them.

“Is that the Lord’s Castle?”

Cale asked Clopeh.

“Yeah.”

Clopeh immediately answered.

“……?”

Cale looked at Clopeh.

“What is it?”

Clopeh truly seemed confused.

“…Nothing.”

“He’s acting right now, nya.”

On whispered.

Cale nodded his head at that statement.

– That’s correct. Human, Clopeh is doing a great job right now! We’re basically surrounded by enemies here! The five of us are our only allies! We need to do a great job acting to keep ourselves hidden! We have to do even better to save Sui Khan later!

Raon defended Clopeh.

“Here’s the map.”

Cale went to an alley and pulled out a map to get a good look at Diorelle.

“Second bro, that’s the Lord’s Castle up there.”

“…I know.”

Cale peeked at Clopeh.

‘Is this punk enjoying this?’

This was correct.

‘Haaaaaaaa. My goodness-

I am pretending to be brothers with Cale-nim!’

The legend created by a hero had all sorts of episodes.

‘This was always Choi Han’s spot in the past, but…

It’s mine this time!’

Clopeh’s eyes filled with delight.

‘Just ignore it.’

Cale avoided Clopeh’s eyes because he felt an unexplainable sense of leeriness.

He then looked toward the Lord’s Castle.

A straight road connected from the south…

The Lord’s Castle was located at the end of the road.

‘That’s where the current Demon King’s forces are gathered right now?’

The issue at hand was stabilizing the Diorelle ore market during Count Ruiphe’s absence.

‘Mm.’

Cale looked at a different part of the map.

Near the mines in the north…

“Second bro, this is where Count Ruiphe’s family members live.”

“I’m very much aware.”

“I still wanted to tell you.”

“Can you shut up?”

“…….”

Clopeh became quiet and Cale looked at the small castle to the north.

It was a small ancient castle.

Count Ruiphe’s family had lived there for generations.

That was the location of the collateral line and his forces.

“Let’s go here first.”

“Why?”

He ignored Clopeh.

“I want to know the reason, nya.”

But Cale answered On.

“This.”

He pulled a bloody rock out of his pocket.

The code created by the slashes on the rock…

“Layover.”

Team leader Sui Khan did not think this was the final destination.

When he left this final clue…

He called this place a layover.

“There’s another forest once you head out the northern gate.”

If the path they chose was correct…

“The clues should continue. If we are wrong, we will come back into the city.”

Cale’s group exited the northern gate with their faces visible.

Once they entered the forest heading toward the ancient castle…

Cale approached a tree on the road.

“I am right.”

He found Lee Soo Hyuk’s mark.

“Danger.”

That was the message he left behind.

“He must be getting chased.”

Cale looked up at the sky.

The sun was about to set.

That explained why there weren’t any carriages or people on this wide road with forests on both sides.

There was only silence.

Shaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-

A breeze blew by. Cale was certain.

“It’s here.”

The team leader was in this forest.

“We will find Sui Khan before night falls.”

Cale had the same black hair as Kim Rok Soo of the past, but…

He was no longer that young Kim Rok Soo.

Ooooooooong-

The golden top’s whip gently vibrated.

The mana here was different from Cale’s world’s mana, but…

“Please help me.”

There were wind elementals here too. It was hard until now because the range was too wide, but if it is a forest this size…

He asked the elementals for help.

“Please look for the person I describe.”

Shaaaaaaaaaaa-

Shaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-

Shaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa—-

Lots of breezes shot into the forest.

The wind elementals were following Cale’s will to find Sui Khan.

He asked the elementals to do something else as well.

“Let me know if there are other living beings in addition to that person.”

Raon asked him a question.

– Human, who else are you looking for?

He answered in a nonchalant tone.

“We need to find the enemies too.”

Sui Khan.

The bastards trying to catch him…

They needed to capture those bastards as well.

Cale’s gaze sank coldly while burning fiercely.

Smile.

Clopeh smiled as he watched.

Ooooooooong.

His sword gently rumbled.

Clopeh’s sword, which was stealthily aiming for its prey like a snake while carrying the darkness to guard the light as its shadow, was anticipating what was to come.

‘Serve him well.’

Choi Han had warned him.

‘And get stronger too.’

Choi Han had advised him as well.

‘You are a genius.’

Choi Han had also complimented him.

Clopeh’s talent with the sword had been accepted by Choi Han.

He was full of greed, no, conviction to become a true ally of the hero.

“I’ll lead the way, Cale-nim.”

“Yeah.”

Clopeh exited the road and entered the forest.

The reason was simple.

Shaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-

‘I think there is something here!’

One of the wind elementals had told Cale the path and Cale had pointed in that direction.

Shaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-

The Sound of the Wind surrounded Cale and the others.

Tatap!

Cale’s group seeped into the forest where darkness had arrived first underneath the sunset.

Cale continued to speak.

“Raon. Send a signal up into the air.”

Clopeh opened his mouth.

“Won’t the enemies know about us?”

“It’s okay. It’s fine as long as they don’t know who we are.”

How would the enemies know it was Cale who came here after seeing the signal?

They will just think that Sui Khan’s allies have come.

They needed at least that much.

“We will announce our existence.”

To the enemies and to the allies…

Even to those bastards of the Church of the God of Chaos…

Even the annoying team leader who caused this headache of a situation…

“We need to let them know that we are here.”

Cale was going to openly announce it.

I am looking for you.

Something like that was needed for both enemies and allies to focus on them.

Of course, Cale was looking in all directions even as he said that.

Marks.

Cale’s eyes were working harder than ever to find the mark that Lee Soo Hyuk would have left in this dangerous situation.

– Human, I’m sending up the signal!

Ooooooooong-

After a short rumble…

Piiiiiiiiiiii—

A strand of light shot up into the red sky.

* * *

“Huff. Huff.”

Sui Khan was leaning against a tree trunk while breathing heavily.

“Fuck. So persistent.”

The bastards chasing him must be religious fanatics as they were extremely persistent.

“My body is not very durable yet.”

His body was still weak because he was not yet an adult.

‘Fuck.

I wouldn’t have been injured if I didn’t make a mistake.

But after seeing what those bastards were doing-’

How could he not do anything?

He had not been able to hold back his emotions for a moment and his hiding spot had been revealed.

He always made mistakes like this. His stubbornness to not fix it on purpose was such a problem.

“Huff. Huff.”

Heavy breathing continued to come out of Sui Khan’s mouth.

Piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii-

It was at that moment.

He heard something in the distance.

“!”

Sui Khan quickly climbed up the tree.

He then looked up at the sky.

“Ha, haha!”

He saw a white yong shooting up toward the sunset sky.

Two people had been responsible for coming to find him during his team leader days.

Kim Rok Soo would find the marks and serve as guide.

Choi Jung Soo would be in charge of the fighting and destruction.

A white yong shot up into the sky.

But this was not Choi Jung Soo’s white yong.

“It’s mana.”

This yong was made of mana.

In that case…

“Raon.”

There was only one punk who would shoot this up as a signal.

“Kim Rok Soo, this punk-”

‘I knew he would come.’

Lee Soo Hyuk started moving toward the signal.

The smart punk was showing himself on purpose.

That should mean that he was ready to take on anyone, both allies and enemies.

“I should go since he’s calling me over.”

Sui Khan tightened the bandage he made by ripping his clothes and quickly started to move.

Tap. Tatatap.

His footsteps were extremely light as he jumped across trees.

* * *

Cale addressed the others.

“We are wanderers from today.”

After openly revealing himself, Cale was planning on pretending to be wanderers in front of the enemies such as the Church of the God of Chaos.

“We are the Third Emperor’s lack, no-”

He almost spoke as he used to during his team leader days as Kim Rok Soo.

“We are the Third Emperor’s subordinates. Do you understand?”

“I understand, nya!”

“I got it.”

“Yes, Cale-nim.”

After Hong, On, and then Clopeh.

Raon answered.

“I got it, human! We are the Third Emperor’s lackeys!”

Cale clenched his eyes and reflected on his actions.

‘Nice words, kind words.’

“…No, we are the Third Emperor’s subordinates.”

“Yeah! I got it, human! We are the Third Emperor’s subordinates!”

“…Okay.”

Cale truly understood the significant impact he himself had on the developing vocabulary of the children averaging ten-years-old.

He still had his eyes clenched.

Shaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-

And toward the spot in the dark forest where the signal had been shot up…

Allies and enemies started moving toward it.
