Chapter 31: Killing The Boss!
Chapter 31: Killing The Boss!
“Roar!”
“Boom!”
“Fuck… run…”
In the central lair of the E-rank dungeon, five people were seen running fast into the dense forest while dodging the Crimson beam that decimated the entire area into cinders.
“Swish!”
Right above them was a massive monster with molten-metal scales, wings wider than a house, a spiked tail, and eyes burning like embers. Smoke curled from its nostrils as flames licked its jaw, ready to crush anything below.
“Roar!”
Seeing that they had dodged its attack again, the monster roared and flapped its wings to create strong gusts.
*Wing Gust*
In an instant, a tornado formed in front of the running figures, ready to engulf them whole.
Unfortunately, they easily passed through it with a solid barrier as always, diving even deeper into the forest as if trying to hide from its eyes.
“Swish!”
Not to mention the annoying arrows flying one after another into its body from below, followed by occasional gusts of sharp light that kept it constantly alert.
While it may have seemed like the hunters were running away from the boss monster, they also didn’t allow it to leave their range.
They perfectly used the terrain and their attacks to enrage it further and further.
As intelligent as the Wyvern was, how could it not see this?
It could feel that these humans were luring it somewhere. Possibly a trap prepared for it.
Although it instinctively looked down on these low-level beings, it wasn’t an idiot.
“Roar!”
Enraged, it directly activated its Crimson Armour, shielding itself from all the arrows briefly. Then its ember eyes carefully scanned the battlefield and located a weak target with impatience.
The one hiding behind the Stone Golem, trying to stop its attack all alone.
“Swoosh!”
If their intention was to lure it into a trap, then all it had to do was cull their numbers with thunder.
It was a monster after all. Hunting was in its blood.
“Swoosh!”
The moment it designated its target, it immediately used its extreme agility and dived down from the sky, disappearing right in front of their eyes.
*Sky Dive*
In no time at all, its huge figure was in front of Aria, its claw shredding her Stone Golem into cinders.
It was no match at all, and its claw was still reaching for the girl, ready to pierce her body and fling her into the sky once more.
This was its ultimate hunting skill, one that even the fast Blazing Falcon couldn’t dodge. It wasn’t without reason that it was a boss.
*Artemis Grace!*
However, just as its claw was about to penetrate the girl’s head, a divine light suddenly blinded its eyes at extreme speed.
To its surprise, it was an arrow that seemed to have been waiting for it to lower from the sky. Fortunately, it hadn’t let its guard down for even a second.
Although the arrow was fast, its agility was no joke either.
Within seconds, the Wyvern let go of its target before fluttering its wings and appearing on the side with a gust of wind.
“Boom!”
It was as if it had teleported its huge body to the side instantly, breaking multiple trees in the forest in the process.
This was the first time any monster had managed to dodge Soren’s ultimate arrow.
“Now… Aria… do it…”
Fortunately, this wasn’t their ultimate plan at all.
“Come forth, my summon, Elderwood Sentinel.”
Their plan still revolved around the same girl the Wyvern had tried to kill just now. In fact, she had been the bait they prepared from the very beginning.
“Swoosh!”
The moment Aria summoned her new spirit, awakened after reaching level 25, the broken trees and vines around her suddenly came back to life.
The trees and vines within a certain radius rustled as if they had grown sentient.
Then, in an instant, the foliage twisted unnaturally before diving toward the Wyvern’s massive form.
“Roar!”
Now it was clear what she was trying to do. It was none other than attempting to capture it and prevent it from flying.
However, Aria’s effort seemed futile, as just one fiery breath was enough to turn those vines and trees into cinders.
All she managed to do with her summoned spirit was delay its flight slightly.
But that was enough for their plan to proceed perfectly.
“Mystic Cyclone!”
After all, there was someone in their team extremely skilled at ground combat and melee attacks.
“Swoosh!”
Sure enough, the moment the Wyvern was delayed slightly, Evan jumped down from a tall tree with the help of Aria’s summon, attacking the monster head-on.
In an instant, multiple strikes in the form of a cyclone pierced and slashed the Wyvern’s huge wings, making it roar in pain.
Even with its defence, it was heavily wounded instantly, completely caught off guard.
“Roar!”
Enraged, it opened its mouth and condensed a fireball so dense that its aura began burning the vines around it, threatening to engulf Evan.
If it landed, he would have been badly injured without a doubt.
But Evan didn’t panic. With practised ease, he slipped behind another huge Stone Golem summoned by Aria and moved into Aurelia’s barrier.
At the same time, Soren was already aiming his bow at the Wyvern’s chest.
This damn monster was so agile that it had even managed to dodge his Artemis Grace. He couldn’t fail now.
Fortunately, everyone moved so smoothly that before the Wyvern could even react, Soren had already released the arrow from his bow.
“Swish!”
In an instant, the arrow struck the Wyvern’s chest where its heart was. This time, the arrow was so silent that the Wyvern didn’t realise it until it was almost too late.
It had thought every dangerous arrow from Soren was always bright and obvious.
Caught off guard, its chest was pierced instantly, impressively breaching its defences without resistance.

Evolved from the A-rank skill Phantom Arrow, Soren had unlocked this ability after levelling up to 25.
Sure enough, true to its nature, his arrow instantly pierced the Wyvern’s seemingly impenetrable skin, striking its heart without resistance.
He didn’t use another skill because he feared it might not be enough.
Fortunately, this new skill had the property of ignoring defences to a certain extent, making it an exceptionally effective attack.
’This time, the critical hit didn’t activate, huh.’
“Roar!”
The boss monster’s painful roar echoed through the surroundings as it released an incomplete attack before collapsing dead onto the ground.
“Boom!”
Even with Aria’s Golem and Aurelia’s barrier, they were still slightly injured. Truly, they would need to buy some defensive artefacts after leaving this dungeon.
“Circle of Restoration!”
Fortunately, the beautiful petals of Sylvia’s healing spell quickly restored everyone.
However, looking at how pale Sylvia was, it seemed she was nearly spent, even after all the mana potions.
While the hunt looked like it had been completed in a short time, it had actually taken almost an hour to engage this boss monster.
This damn bastard never came down easily at all. Otherwise, nobody would have needed to use Aria as bait.
Of course, without the protective amulet of Aurelia, Aria wouldn’t be asked to take such a risk.
Fortunately, everything was good now.
