Transmigrator: I Arrived With 100 Million Years As A Time Seller!
Chapter 12: Double Dinner Because Little Sister Made It
Ryan left the Lincoln Family’s villa with the sum of sixty million dollars!
That was an amount of money he knew had changed his life forever, even if it had only come from one deal with a very wealthy family.
He wasn’t planning to tell Emily about it, but surely, she was going to realize that her Big Brother had become rich!
[Lifespan remaining: 102,999,874 Years.]
He checked his remaining lifespan and immediately looked away.
It had just made a very tiny shift, which was already enough to make him rich for many years on this planet, and yet he still had more than enough to sell.
{Account Balance: $60,000,000.}
With a final stare at his account balance showing on his phone screen, Ryan smiled and left for Pentown.
He was expecting to see Emily already asleep when he got to the apartment, but then, Emily was sound awake when he arrived.
In fact, she had just finished preparing dinner for them and was waiting by the dining room.
When the door opened, she immediately rushed and threw herself at him, giving him a deep, warm hug.
"Big Brother! I was so worried about you," she exclaimed, clutching him tightly.
"It was a hell of a day, Emily. I’m sorry I made you worried," Ryan said.
She then pulled away and smiled right at him.
"It’s all right, Big Brother. I knew you were going to meet the lady at the mall. And well, I knew you could be having other appointments as well," Emily said.
"Yeah," Ryan nodded, and then he turned in the direction of the dining room. "Seems like you got something for me."
Emily rolled her eyes and turned.
"For us, actually..." she said.
"Oh yeah, my bad," Ryan laughed.
They both certainly laughed as they headed to the dining room.
"Right there... Your favorite!" Emily said as she smirked at him.
Ryan really hadn’t missed any fragment of the memories, as he immediately grasped that this had been the real Ryan’s favorite meal.
"Pasta, chicken balls, and hot tomato sauce. Wow!" Ryan shouted in excitement, kissing her right on the forehead.
"That’s so sweet of you, Emily. You surely deserve a good treat for this," Ryan said with a smile.
"Really, Big Brother? Just because I made your favorite meal? Come on, since Mom and Dad died, we’ve barely had something as good as this. We both know you deserve this," Emily responded, dismissing his flatteries.
Ryan nodded, clenching his lips.
He then adjusted the seat to make space for Emily to sit. He made sure she sat down before him, and then he sat opposite her.
Ryan wasn’t supposed to be hungry after having dinner at the Lincoln Family’s house, but he didn’t dare refuse the meal Emily had specially prepared.
No matter how full he was, he still tried eating a lot while they conversed the whole time.
"So, how did it go with the lady? Did you help her?" Emily asked with a look of anticipation.
"Absolutely. She’s fine now. At least for the next two and a half decades," Ryan responded.
A mixed look of relief and admiration hit her face as she smiled at him.
"That’s... A lot," she said.
She then exhaled.
"Thanks for saving her life, Big Brother," she added.
"It’s okay, Emily. I’m supposed to do what I can to help out," Ryan replied.
[Mmm-hhh. If only she knew the condition behind the help, son of a ball!]
Soly suddenly entered the conversation, and Ryan could only laugh inwardly.
...
After dinner, they both headed for their rooms.
It was exactly 9:34 PM at that time, and it was high time Emily went to bed.
Ryan was already making plans to revive the proper life she wasn’t having due to the poverty and health issues she had in the past.
He simply settled on the bed and began to contemplate. Now that they were financially stable enough, he figured it might be about time to send Emily back to school.
Emily was only in 9th Grade when she dropped out of school, and still had a long way to go, unlike him, who was supposed to enter the university before dropping out.
He knew that she would be very excited to go back to school, and surely, he was looking forward to making that happen soon enough.
"I’ll enroll her in the best school in Zion City," Ryan told himself. "And also make sure she has the best education possible."
With that, he decided to go to bed, but then his phone suddenly began to ring.
Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!
Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!
Ryan noticed it was an unknown contact, so he hesitated before picking up the call.
"Hello."
"Hello... Who am I speaking with?" Ryan asked, his ears standing in curiosity.
"This is Michelle. The woman you met earlier today," a familiar feminine voice sounded from the other end.
Ryan immediately recognized the voice after a moment, but he was surprised by how she was calling at that time of the day.
’Is she scared that it was fake? Does she think she’s still going to die?’ Ryan asked himself.
"Miss Michelle, I must say it must be important for you to be calling at this time of the day," Ryan responded.
"..."
But then there appeared to be utmost silence from the other end, as he didn’t hear a single word.
After what seemed like an eternity, he heard rough gasps from her end, and it was at that moment he realized that things could be going ugly.
"Miss Michelle?" Ryan called.
No response...
All he could feel was a dark, hesitant aura, which wasn’t looking good at all.
But finally...
"I’m sorry, Mister Ryan. I won’t be able to honor our deal," Michelle finally spoke.
"Well... That’s a shame," Ryan replied reluctantly, as his eyes rolled repeatedly.
"I don’t have a reason to stay alive for the next twenty-five years anymore. In fact, I’m about to go now. For good," Michelle said.
"Well..."
"At least try telling your boss what happened," Ryan remained very relaxed as he talked to her, even though he was feeling the tension deep in his mind.
"You don’t have to worry, Mister Ryan. It’s over. I’m sorry for not honoring the deal. I’m grateful for your help, if it’s ever real."
Beep! Beep! Beep!
The call suddenly ended, and Ryan wasn’t given time to say any more words.
"Damn it!" He clenched his fist and cursed, knowing what she was about to do to herself.
And honestly, perhaps what had angered him wasn’t the fact that she was going to commit suicide, but the fact that he’d gotten twenty-five years wasted.
******
Meanwhile, at the edge of a lonesome bridge above vast waters, a young woman stood still with her eyes closed while tears still poured out of them.
Her hands were hung in the air as the night breeze pushed her clothes backward.
"Maybe this is really how it should end. He is right. I should die right away," Michelle said to herself.
Within moments, she had summoned the exact amount of courage needed to end her own life, setting herself free as she jumped right into the lagoon.
BAAAAM!
No one was watching. No one tried to stop her. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ
It was the best spot to do whatever was in her mind, and she eventually succeeded.
