Still, the scars in his chest aren't disappearing. If it was someone in his place, they would have died that's how damaging the wound given to him is.

At that moment, a purple lightning bolt struck Blaize's body making him grit his teeth in pain. The memories of what happened six days back surfaced in his mind.

At that time, the Marines got the intelligence that the Crystal Pirates, one of the Four Emperors of the sea fighting another Great pirate crew on an unknown island.

Blaize and his unit were nearby to the location, they were dispatched to monitor their movement and report. Sengoku decided to catch them off guard and eliminate both the pirate crews.

After the battle, the pirates will be exhausted and most vulnerable, it's when the Marines will act and destroy them in one swift action.

Still, Blaize and his unit can't take them alone so Sengoku sent reinforcement. Of course, he strictly told Blaize to not engage before the reinforcement arrives but not everything goes according to the plan.

The other Pirate crew couldn't hold on for a day before their captain was killed and the rest of their crew was either captured or annihilated by the Crystal pirates.

After resting for three hours, the Crystal pirates decided to leave the Island as they knew the Marine will be on their tail soon.

Blaize can't let them leave so he decided to stall for some time with his unit before the reinforcement arrives. It's one of the worst decisions he has ever made!

It put everyone in his unit at risk and he nearly lost his life. It's not because he's not strong enough, it's because of misjudgment and overconfidence.

Blaize thought he can take most of the pirates by himself but that's where he's wrong, he misjudged Captain of the Crystal Pirates' strength. That bastard was hiding his strength.

Out of the Four Emperors, Crystal pirates are the weakest with few to no territories under their name. After the introduction of the Yonko concept, they were the most affected.

Unlike the other three, they are constantly targeted by other Great pirates. But, it also made them stronger.

Before their fight, Blaize is only slightly weaker than Crystal but that can't be said about everyone in his unit.

Against one of the Four Emperor, most of the soldiers in his unit can't hold their ground. Besides, they were outmatched in numbers.

Before the fight, Blaize's attributes were like this.

And, capturing and killing the number of pirates raised his Free attribute points to '12' from '7'. But during his fight against Crystal, he was forced to raise both his Haki and Devil fruit attribute to over '60' points.

After raising his attributes, he was able to fight Crystal as his equal. Crystal, also known as Captain Zagg, is very strong with powerful Haki and monstrous physical strength.

But, his true strength comes from his devil fruit powers. The Crystal-Crystal fruit granted him unparalleled defense and strong offensive capability.

What's more, he even awakened his devil fruit. With his devil fruit power, he can crystalize his body completely similar to Logia but it comes under a special Paramecia-type category.

His devil fruit is highly resistant to Heat! Normal haki attacks didn't work against him. He's one of the toughest opponents Blaize had faced.

Aside from all this, there's one skill of Crystal that troubled Blaize more than anything: the ability to create some sort of crystal armor around their subordinates.

In the end, his unit was overwhelmed by their extraordinary power. So, Blaize chose to face most of them by himself even though Crystal himself is a mighty foe.

Apart from Crystal, there were other powerful devil fruit users in his crew. Even Blaize, whose strength reached the initial stage of 'Yonko' was overwhelmed by the numbers.

Finally, Blaize was injured heavily by Crystal and his subordinates who worked together. Thankfully, the reinforcement arrived on time otherwise he would have really died that day.

Even so, most of the soldiers in his unit were heavily injured while some even lost their lives.

In fact, they died because of him. Crystal used the soldiers in his unit to get to him. It worked as Blaize won't let his subordinates die in front of him.

After the battle, Blaize swore to kill that bastard Crystal who's one of the evilest pirates he ever fought.

But, that battle was also a blessing in disguise as it helped him to realize the true power of Haki. He understood the advanced Haki concept: Internal Destruction while his Observation Haki took another leap, close to attaining the Future Sight.

The next time he meets the Crystal pirates, it will be their end.
