Transmigrated as the Villain Boss's Precious Darling
Chapter 593: A Fashionable and Pretty Woman
"Didn’t she just take a batch?" Mad Lord frowned slightly.
"She said a big client was added at the last minute, and they need it urgently."
"No matter how urgent, she’ll have to wait. Tell her I don’t have any stock right now. It’ll be a few days before I do," Mad Lord said in a low voice.
His subordinate went to speak with the other party. Will was a little worried. "Boss, you think they’ll run into each other?"
"It has nothing to do with us."
Mad Lord said nonchalantly, then closed his eyes to rest again. ’If they did run into each other, it would be fate. It might even be a good thing.’
Will thought about it and agreed, so he stopped worrying. He was more concerned about something else. "Boss, about that other half... should we have Sarah stew it tonight?"
"Get lost!"
Mad Lord’s eyes snapped open, his gaze murderous. Will shivered, not daring to make his own decisions anymore. ’That thing can’t be frozen for too long, it’d be a shame if it lost its potency. I should have my wife stew it for me to drink. Who knows, maybe I could even have a baby girl!’
Will got angry, too. ’From now on, I’m done with the boss’s damn problems. He can get married or not, I don’t care. He doesn’t even care about his own health. Being sick is nothing to be ashamed of, but he hides it and refuses to see a doctor. He’s not acting like a grown man at all.’
Wendy Thorne and the others had been wandering around Capria for most of the day. The sun had nearly dehydrated them, and they were surviving on iced soda. They couldn’t eat anything all day, only managing iced soda and ice cream, filling their stomachs with ice.
As evening approached, they found a famous ice cream parlor in Capria. It was said to have been around since before the Liberation, with very authentic flavors. Ellie Ashton had done a lot of research before they came.
"My cousin said that if you come to Capria, you have to visit this ice cream parlor. When he was a kid, he came here every single day in the summer," Ellie Ashton said with a smile.
"Your cousin is in Capria?" Patrick Thorne asked curiously.
Ellie Ashton shook her head. "My uncle was transferred back to Tristone last year. He used to be here in Capria. I even came to visit when I was little, but I don’t remember much."
"Then why are you studying in the small town? Isn’t the quality of education in the city better than in the countryside?" Jim Thorne couldn’t understand.
"My parents are swamped with work and don’t have time for me. I live with my maternal grandparents."
Ellie Ashton finished a scoop of ice cream in a few bites and went to get another. The parlor’s traditional ice cream came in scoops, dug out with a spoon into a bowl. They had green, pink, white, and light blue. It was ten cents a scoop. Wendy Thorne loved it too.
"But I have to go back to the city for high school."
Ellie Ashton sounded a little regretful. ’I actually prefer living with my grandpa. I’m so free here, and no one bothers me. Back in the city, I’ll probably fight with my mom every day. Other people get along with their moms like sisters, but my mom and I are like mortal enemies. We see red the moment we meet. After a fight, we can go half a month without talking. Then my dad plays peacemaker, and after we make up for two or three days, we have another fight, then more silent treatment, then making up again...’
’I’d rather just stay in the countryside.’
"You guys should come visit me in the city sometime. I don’t really have any friends there."
"Okay."
Patrick Thorne agreed, making a mental note of it. ’Once I get my commission from this batch of orders, I’ll do what Adrian Hawthorne did and buy a house in Vessaria. I’ll raise my grades too, and try to go to high school in the city.’
A fashionable, beautiful woman wafted in on a cloud of perfume. Her face was sweaty, causing her makeup to run a little. In an era still dominated by blue, white, and gray, this woman’s outfit was exceptionally eye-catching.
She had big, wavy hair, a green and white polka-dot dress, and mid-heel, cream-colored sandals. She carried a delicate little leather purse and smelled of perfume. She sat down near Wendy Thorne’s group, bought the most expensive ice cream, and ate it with particular elegance. At a glance, she was clearly a refined, wealthy person.
