Chapter 128: 128 Attractive.

Needless to say I expected the call from Lacey the next day, and was hardly surprised that I was ’requested’ to attend an appointment with her at Firefly headquarters.

I picked up my Crown first, of course.

Leaving it all night hadn’t exactly been the plan, but given the options I was glad I hadn’t tried to drive back to the chalet. I’d never have made it, but it did provide me with an additional annoyance in finding another ticket under the windshield wiper. Fucking dammit.

Well, my morning hadn’t started out great, and I’d barely managed a few hours of sleep last night before flying back to Metro City. I was not looking forward to this meeting, that was for damn sure.

I was let into Firefly’s headquarters almost immediately and reached Lacey’s office through the shiny black halls in short order.

Up the lift and finally at her door as the two stone men looked me down for a moment longer than necessary, it was getting really hard to tell if these guys had a problem with me or not.

They opened the door and I could only imagine what fresh hell Lacey was cooking up for me this time.

Apparently, it had something to do with massage.

Lacey was stretched out on a table in the middle of her office while a massive Hawaiian man ground the heels of his palms into her back.

She was all but naked save a towel around her waist, her head propped up on her crossed arms, though I couldn’t help but notice she was still wearing those mirrored lenses she liked so much.

"Mmmm. Just like that, Koa. Really get it in there," she groaned, her toes curling as he worked. She finally seemed to notice me and gave a lazy smile. "Ah, Miles! There you are. Come in! Come in. And mnnn! Close the door."

"Right. Sure," I said, doing as she asked.

"Wanted to talk about the movie," Lacey purred. "Fantastic work! Went off without a hitch."

"Aside from Golden trying to kill me," I noted. "Then Delirium trying to kill me, then the BSA summoning me." I nodded my head. "So, yeah. Apart from that, it was a blast."

"Right, right. Very unfortunate that, but you can’t exactly blame Firefly, Miles. After all, that wouldn’t have happened if you hadn’t made certain... mnnnn! Enemies!"

I watched as her masseuse grabbed one of her legs and slowly bent it, Lacey’s ass rising as her toe almost came to touch the back of her head. Just the sight made my own back twinge with sympathetic agony.

"Yeah. Sure. I’m not," I said. "Things seemed to have gone alright anyway."

"That they did," Lacey said as her masseuse got to work on the other leg. "Mnnn! Fuck that’s good... But yes. The show did go on! And quite well. Although we are out a mentor for the Superstars, that’s something we can work around. It was a minor plot point anyway. Some additional sexual tension seems exactly the ticket, in my view."

"Sexual tension?" I said.

Lacey raised her hand and waved the masseuse off. The man took away his hands at once. "Good job, Koa. You can go."

The big man nodded, walking past me without interest. I watched him go, door closing behind him, then heard a creak on the massage table. I looked back around to find Lacey sitting up.

And she was still topless.

I couldn’t help but stare, which was surely the whole fucking point of this.

Lacey’s breasts were impressively firm for a woman entering middle age, but she probably had resources that most women would kill for.

Forget a facelift, she probably had access to the fucking fountain of youth, or demons or something. She swung her legs off the table and stood, showing not the least hint of shame or indication she intended to cover up.

"Yes," Lacey said, smirking. "Sexual tension. You see, Miles, your little display has given us a window we’d be insane not to take advantage of."

"Uh huh," I said, wary of where this was going, but I also had no intention of leaving before finding out. "What are you thinking?"

"Miles," she said, her voice a purr that thrummed through me as she approached, hips swinging. "Your exit in the movie has given us a golden opportunity to offer something the market has been lacking for some time. Something that could make us a fortune in advertising dollars alone!"

"And that is?" I said.

She stopped before me, her hands coming to rest on my shoulders, her floral perfume thick in the air. Scented oils that had been worked across her skin until she glistened like a bronze statuette tickled my senses.

"An evil organization," she said.

"Come again?"

"That’s right," Lacey said, pressing in closer. "Everyone knows about Polaris. But here, we have an opportunity to put into practice what I’ve been talking about. You, heading an organization of villainesses, out to thwart our girls. It would be glorious! A rivalry. Good versus evil. Cross overs. Romance! Gay baiting. Advertisers would flock to it! Every movie the Superstars gave would run the chance of a villain fight with a stable of familiar foes. Story arcs. Grand displays! You could be bigger than Doctor Dementor!"

"Right, yeah. I suppose. But remember?" I protested. "I didn’t want that!"

"Oh Miles," Lacey purred, her lips rising in a hungry grin. "I think that ship has sailed. You’ve got a mansion in the woods filled with supervillainesses, have made a very public declaration that at least two of them are under your personal protection, and have a death ray on the premises."

"Hold on, how did you know about my Octoporian?" I protested.

"I make it a point to keep informed. And Miles? I have to say," she said, leaning in closer, her leg sliding between mine, rubbing my bulge, "I find a man with an Octoporian... unbelievably attractive."
