Hearing his phone ring, he immediately picked it up.

A faint smile appeared on his face when he saw the photo.

"Beautiful."

"What?" The person on the video call had a look of utter confusion. ’What does he mean by that?’

Staring at Evan Fairchild through the screen was like looking at a stranger. He had worked with Evan Fairchild for so long, yet he never knew the man could even smile.

Melody Monroe hadn’t even reached the photography studio when her phone rang.

Every time she sent Evan Fairchild a message, he would always reply in under a minute—sometimes, it was an instant reply. A one-second voice message containing a single word. She couldn’t help but smile.

She picked up her phone again and sent a text: "Mr. Fairchild, you’re so perfunctory. I’m going to shoot my costume photos now."

Evan Fairchild couldn’t help but laugh when he saw the message.

When Melody Monroe walked into the photography studio, the person in charge of the shoot immediately came over. A few of the crew members stared at Melody Monroe, not even blinking, completely mesmerized.

"Hey guys, we still have two more sets to shoot. Let’s pick up the pace," Talia Mercer reminded them.

The men finally snapped back to reality.

Melody Monroe walked in front of the camera, and the lighting technician immediately adjusted the direction of the lights.

The photographer adjusted his camera, and the photos were done in less than five minutes.

"That was fast?" Melody Monroe could hardly believe it.

"Miss Monroe, you’re photogenic from every angle. There are no bad shots," the young photographer explained, a bit shyly.

"In that case, let’s hurry and change into the next outfit. We still need to get my hair and makeup redone," Melody Monroe said quickly.

She thought, ’The jewelry isn’t exactly light.’ Her neck was already starting to feel sore after wearing it for just a short while.

When the costume photoshoot was finally over, Melody Monroe was ready to collapse from exhaustion. She glanced at the time—it was almost seven o’clock.

"It’s that late already?"

"Yeah, it’s already dark out. Melody, why don’t you sit here and rest for a bit while I pack up our things."

"Okay." Melody Monroe nodded.

Suddenly, her phone rang.

’Jasper Rockwell?’

"Hey, Melody! I’ve arrived in Jansburg. Where are you right now?"

"Busy with costume fittings! Why are you only just getting here? No wonder I only saw Sean Coleman and Nola Hughes today, but not you."

"Which hotel are you staying at?"

"I’m not staying at a hotel."

"Not at a hotel? Then where are you staying?"

Before Melody Monroe could answer, Jasper Rockwell had already figured it out. ’There’s no way Evan Fairchild would let Melody stay in a hotel. He must have bought a house for her long ago!’

"Is Zane Langdon with you too?"

"Yeah, he should be shooting his costume photos right about now."

"Perfect. Let’s have dinner together."

"Okay," Melody Monroe agreed. "Have you booked your hotel yet?"

"Not yet. I’m having someone check which hotel Zane Langdon is at, and I’ll stay there too. It’ll be more convenient. I’ll go get the hotel sorted out. You can pick a place for dinner and send me the location once you’ve decided."

"Okay, see you later."

Talia Mercer had finished packing everything up, and the two of them headed out.

At this hour, the place was practically empty, save for those working overtime. Melody Monroe and Talia Mercer sat in the lounge, waiting for Zane Langdon.

Bored, she took out her phone and saw that Evan Fairchild had sent her another message.

"Honey, look up."

Melody Monroe looked up, completely baffled. She sent a message back: "Look at what? There’s nothing here."

"You don’t see me?" Evan Fairchild replied instantly.

"You? You’re in Jansburg?" Melody Monroe was stunned.
