Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year
Chapter 441 - 439: 100 Million for a Lesson
"You don’t have to worry about that. We’ll have our lawyers handle terminating your contracts with your original company, and we’ll also cover the termination fees."
"We’ll sign!"
"The contract term is five years."
"The Captain’s kindness in recognizing my talent is a debt I can only repay with my life. I’d sign for ten years," Shaun Owen immediately replied.
Just as Melody Monroe walked in, she heard Shaun Owen’s voice. She knew they were coming, so she had rushed over to the company after finishing her work.
"Let’s forget about repaying me with your life." As soon as Melody Monroe’s voice rang out, everyone turned around.
"Captain!"
"Captain!"
They scrambled to get to Melody Monroe, who hugged the women in the group.
"So, how did the auditions go? Were they successful?"
"Yeah, we all passed Director Walsh’s inspection, but the specific roles for the three of us haven’t been decided yet. We’re still waiting for news."
"Since Melody recommended you, Director Walsh had to give her some face," Keith Coleman chimed in.
This industry was just a battlefield for fame and fortune. He had seen far too many people forget their roots after making it big, and far too many who turned their backs on old friends.
That’s why he had to say what needed to be said.
This was a favor, and they needed to remember it.
"If there are no other questions, then we’ll consider the contracts settled," Keith Coleman said to the group.
"Okay," they replied at once.
"Captain, thank you."
"Thank you."
The group thanked Melody Monroe.
"I can’t believe we’re all back together so soon. Let’s go out for a meal to celebrate."
...
Rhona Hughes was on set filming when she messed up several takes in a row, leaving her in a foul mood.
"Get over here! Look at this! What do you call that acting?!" The director yelled, calling Rhona Hughes over.
Rhona Hughes was extremely reluctant, but she didn’t dare disobey.
"Cry! Do you think just squeezing a few eyedrops in is good enough? This is the final scene, can you please put some heart into it?"
"Director, I have been putting my heart into it," Rhona Hughes muttered in protest.
A few uniformed officers arrived and asked a crew member, "Is Rhona Hughes here?"
"Yeah, she’s over there. The one next to the camera."
Wendy had just finished washing some fruit and was walking over when she saw the uniformed officers approaching. Her heart tightened; she had a bad feeling about this.
When she saw them walk straight toward Rhona Hughes, all the fruit in her hands fell to the ground.
"You’re Rhona Hughes, correct?"
Rhona Hughes looked up impatiently, but when she saw the uniformed officers, her face turned pale.
"I am."
"Where is Wendy Johnson?"
Wendy had just been thinking of running for it when her name was called.
"Over here! Wendy Johnson is right here!" a crew member shouted, pointing at her. She froze, not daring to move a single step.
"What do you want with me?"
"You’re needed for questioning. We wouldn’t be looking for you for no reason."
Suddenly, Rhona Hughes jumped to her feet and tried to run.
One of the officers quickly chased her down, tackling Rhona Hughes to the ground. The others swiftly surrounded them, and she was immediately handcuffed.
Wendy watched this unfold and cursed inwardly.
’Rhona Hughes is such an idiot!’
’She threw away the last shred of her dignity.’
It wasn’t until Rhona Hughes and Wendy were taken away that the people on set finally snapped out of their daze.
"What just happened? Why was Rhona Hughes taken away?"
"If she was taken away, she must have done something illegal! Otherwise, why would they arrest those two and not anyone else?"
"Rhona Hughes has been arrested! What’s going to happen to this movie?!" The director’s voice suddenly boomed, loud enough for the entire set to hear.
