After five days since they left, the two finally returned to Quanjian, playing and strolling along the way.

When they came back, they had taken a large detour and entered the city from the other side.

Riding horses was not allowed in the city, so they dismounted while queuing to enter, leading the horses, strolling and observing the vendors around them.

The most frequent sights on this street were all kinds of fruits and seafood, countless ones they had seen and not seen before.

Chatting away, Xiaomi bought a bunch of longans, fresh, just picked from the tree.

She let Wei Ziang lead the horse while she peeled and ate the longans, occasionally feeding one to Wei Ziang.

Passersby saw this and merely smiled kindly, thinking what a loving couple they were.

Interestingly, the two had never been to this side of the street before, so after entering the city, they asked around to find out where their house was.

Once out of the bustling city and into a sparsely populated area, Wei Ziang whispered, "Xiaomi, don’t these fruits taste the same as those in the space, even their names are the same?"

Like longan, durian, mango, banana, etc.

Xiaomi looked at him puzzled, "They’re the same, so what?"

Wei Ziang looked around; despite being on a main street, the passersby were far away, so their voices were very faint, and there was no worry of being overheard.

"But I’ve read some records stating that many fruits didn’t taste so good initially; they were cultivated carefully in later generations to become like this now."

Wei Ziang was talking about those fruits from Xiaomi’s space.

Xiaomi was stunned, gradually realizing, trying hard to recall.

After all, it was knowledge she learned twenty years ago, and staying here so long means she’s forgotten most of it.

After a while, she recalled some things, suddenly enlightened, "Seems like they were!"

While saying this, she ate another longan, juicy, fragrant, and exceedingly delicious; though not as good as the ones she grew in space, far better than the ones she had saved up before.

It was likely organic, with no pesticides or fertilizers used; aside from the appearance being slightly inferior, varied sizes, and some spoiled ones, the taste was flawless.

Glancing again at other fruits along the street, whatever was sold could be found in the space to some extent or documented in some books.

"So strange, why is this the case?"

Wei Ziang didn’t know why either, as this was beyond his knowledge.

Luckily, they didn’t dwell on it for long and quickly found their way to their home door.

There were guards outside the door; only twenty guards came with them to Quanjian, not many, but sufficient.

When the guards saw them, they hurried over. One took the horse to the backyard, and another helped them open the door.

"Third young master, fourth miss, you’ve finally returned; the prince and madam have been talking about you these days."

This time they left for slightly longer in unfamiliar places, naturally causing some worry.

"Are my parents home now? By the way, where is your captain?"

"The prince and madam went to the street and should be back soon. The captain went with them."

Twenty or thirty guards should be enough, since the Jiang family was impervious to bribes in the Capital City at the end of last year, making many abandon their original plans.

Moreover, since they came to the coast this time, seen as not a prosperous place to many, there’s nothing much to covet here.

Not to mention, anyone with some understanding knows why the Jiang family came here.

Compared to previous farming activities, what the Jiang family, or rather Xiaomi and Wei Ziang, are doing now is of utmost importance to the Emperor!

No one is foolish enough to make a move now.

"We should rest a bit first; when parents come back, inform them."

Saying this, the two returned to their courtyard, where the housekeeper had already instructed maids to bring hot water, perceiving they must be dust-laden after being away for five or six days.

Although they rested well daily, riding horses was indeed tiring; now that they’re home, their bodies relaxed, a bath to wash hair felt incredibly comfortable.

After freshening up, Xiaomi turned to go find Wei Ziang.

Wei Ziang was busy in the study, and when Xiaomi arrived, she saw him drawing maps.

"Bro, are you drawing a map of the path to the bay?"

Wei Ziang looked up, seeing it was Xiaomi, his serious face instantly softened into a warm smile.

"Xiaomi is here. This afternoon, I’ll have someone carefully survey this surrounding area to complete the map, avoiding them getting lost."

Being unfamiliar with the place, getting lost could waste much time.

Mainly, they don’t want to make another run themselves, as going back and forth would take days.

Additionally, their task isn’t just to survey the environment but to completely examine the surroundings and draw a detailed map.

Once the main troop arrives later, they must find a suitable long-term residence since this isn’t a short-term task; it might take years.

Even those craftsmen mostly brought their families along.

Of course, if successful, rewards await everyone, even those doing odd jobs, hence the unrelenting enthusiasm.

Xiaomi casually grabbed a piece of pastry from nearby, sat across Wei Ziang, watching him map.

"Bro, your memory is excellent. I’m not the same; without revisiting in person, I’ve forgotten almost the entire direction now."

It’s not mere flattery; her memory indeed isn’t great.

Luckily, having traversed the place, going again means recognizing familiar places, preventing getting lost at least.

As for cartography, it’s likely not a skill she’ll master in this lifetime.

Wei Ziang chuckled softly, continued mapping, occasionally exchanging a few words; a maid brought iced tea and sweet water, barely placing it down before Xiaomi waved her off.

When Wei Ziang finally finished the drawing, their parents returned; the ink hadn’t dried yet, so Wei Ziang didn’t put the map away, leaving it on the desk.

It wasn’t a crucial secret, being seen is harmless.

Upon leaving the courtyard, they immediately saw their parents approaching; Wei Ziang quickly greeted them, "Parents, sorry for the long journey that worried you."

Xiaomi had already thrown herself into her mother’s arms, "Mom, are you used to living here? In a few days, we’ll go to the beach; it’s so much fun! My brother and I caught many crabs and shrimp by the beach."

Seeing the two safe and sound, her mother exhaled in relief and teasingly glared at Xiaomi, "You, handling important tasks, yet all you think of is playing."

Though sounding like a reprimand, the words were filled with affection.
