Chapter 733: Chapter 507: Spicy Seafood Delicacies

Although Ling’er hadn’t studied shipbuilding, she knew what kind of place Xiaomi and Wei Ziang wanted.

However, Ling’er said that the place was too far, which for her was just a wing flap away, and it was seen from far in the sky.

Thanks to the care of the Spiritual Spring and Spiritual Energy, Xiaoba’s body was stronger and faster than a normal Mynah.

So although they really wanted to go see what the place Ling’er described looked like right away.

Ling’er told them, if they rode horses, it would take until night at least, not to mention that she only saw it from afar and wasn’t sure exactly how far it was.

Helplessly, the two decided to go to the seaside first, at least to dip into the sea water.

It was already noon when they arrived at the seaside.

Approaching the seaside, the air became much more humid and salty, with many small fishing villages around, each with only a dozen or so households.

Almost every house had fishing nets hanging outside, and various salted fish and seaweed drying.

Living by the mountains, depend on the mountains; living by the sea, depend on the sea.

People living by the seaside mostly eat various kinds of ’cheap’ seafood daily.

A group of children carrying buckets and tongs ran around the beach, sometimes picking up snails, sometimes shells, along with various crabs and shrimps.

These are the freshest seafood, and Xiaomi immediately craved them.

Seeing this, Wei Ziang directly pulled her towards the small fishing village.

An old lady was mending fishing nets and was both curious and surprised to see two beautiful young people approach, followed by tall horses.

These beautiful young people must be the young masters and misses from rich families in town, why have they come here?

Just as she was thinking, she heard the handsome young man warmly speaking to her: "Grandma, I want to buy some fresh fish, shrimp, and crabs, does your family have any?"

The old lady froze for a moment and quickly stood up, letting the fishing net slide to the ground, too preoccupied to pick it up, and nervously rubbed her hands on her skirt.

"Fresh fish, shrimp, crabs? You, do you want to eat them?"

Worrying that Wei Ziang might scare her, Xiaomi quickly added with a smile and nodded: "Yes, grandma, it’s almost noon, and we’d like to buy some food."

The old lady quickly turned around and brought out a bucket from under the eaves: "See if this is enough."

She couldn’t help but take another look at Xiaomi and Wei Ziang, thinking how handsome and polite these young people were, not showing any contempt for her, an old woman.

The bucket held crabs and shrimp, along with some shells and snails, all still moving.

It seemed these were caught today.

"Enough, grandma. How much is it? We’ll borrow this bucket for a while, and return it later."

Wei Ziang took out his money pouch, as they had nothing else but water bags apart from it, certainly unable to conjure a bucket out of thin air to hold the crabs.

The old lady waved her hand: "No need, no need, they’re not worth much, you can eat them."

Wei Ziang counted twenty copper coins and placed them directly on the stone where the old lady had been sitting.

Xiaomi also smiled: "We can’t not pay, otherwise if we want more next time, we’ll know who to ask."

As she spoke, Xiaomi tried to lift the bucket to find a suitable place to prepare their meal, but before she could touch the bucket, Wei Ziang had picked it up.

After bidding farewell to the nervous but pleased old lady, they walked to a slightly distant area where there was a reef, perfect for finding a place to eat.

After a few steps, Xiaomi took the opportunity to store all the shrimp and crabs in the space, then waved her hand: "Ling’er, come over."

Resting on the horse’s back, Ling’er flapped her wings and landed on Xiaomi’s shoulder.

"Ling’er, help us cook these seafood into a spicy stew."

Ling’er nodded, Xiaomi petted Ling’er’s head, and Ling’er entered the space, leaving Xiaoba here.

Xiaoba clearly was used to this situation, often waking up to find she was in a different place, with no memory of having been here.

That said, maybe her intelligence hadn’t developed to that point, so she hadn’t noticed anything, currently rubbing against Xiaomi’s neck, then flapping her wings to fly into the sky.

However, she didn’t fly too far, hovering at a suitable distance where she could hear Xiaomi’s instructions.

The two went hand-in-hand to the reef pile by the side, while the horses felt content following behind.

Finding a higher reef, shielding them from the fishing village’s view, Xiaomi took out two bundles of horse hay.

Wei Ziang had already washed the empty bucket in the sea water.

"Xiaomi, fetch some water, the horses won’t drink this salty sea water."

The seawater was very salty, something he noticed when drawing water to wash the bucket.

Xiaomi reached into the bucket, and a stream of water flowed from her fingers, in no time filling it to a large amount.

Wei Ziang brought it to the horses, while Xiaomi gathered some smooth stones, then set them together.

The water level at the reefs had receded, leaving only a few water gaps, or pits, with some small seafood.

She spotted several tiny snails, plucked them casually, and placed them in the space—not to eat, but for breeding.

"Buddy, I’m going to the front for a bit, I’ll be right back."

She remembered Ling’er had concerns, ran a few steps to the front of the reef, where the water was deep, directly stretching her hand into it, with a large volume of sea water swiftly entering the space.

Along with the seawater, some tiny plankton entered, she even spotted clusters of octopus eggs attached to an overturned snail shell nearby.

She planned to find these and promptly collected them with the shell and eggs together, but couldn’t see the mother octopus, wondering where it went.

With an enormous amount of seawater gushing into the space, it had no impact on the ocean at large, at least ensuring that even someone watching wouldn’t notice Xiaomi ’stealing’ water.

The pond Ling’er dug filled in two entire quarters, with Wei Ziang using the grandma’s wooden bucket to gather little seafood found in the reef’s gaps.

When Xiaomi finished, she hurriedly called her buddy to return, in the circle she had made with some stones earlier, now perfectly fit for a large pot with various spicy seafood prepared by Ling’er.

She took a deep breath: "Smells great, truly nothing beats freshly caught!"

Speaking, she quickly brought out two portions of rice and chopsticks, and conveniently stored the small seafood Wei Ziang caught.

Taking the chopsticks Xiaomi handed over, Wei Ziang smiled and said: "We’re too slow catching them ourselves, later we’ll find those kids to help us, we’ll pay them, just for the small, unsellable ones."

"Sure, since we’re staying here for a few days, let’s find a place to stay a night, and head to the place Ling’er mentioned in the morning."

"Alright."
