Chapter 607: Chapter 379: All Treasures

In this larger box, there weren’t many items stored, just a few small porcelain bottles, a sealed jar of wine, along with two Mitsubishi Military Daggers, a multifunctional folding knife, and a sharp dagger.

"Xiaomi, where did all these come from?"

If the ginseng from earlier could be understood as Xiaomi having gone up the mountain to dig for it overnight,

he really couldn’t explain these at all.

Picking up that dagger, forged entirely of fine iron, it glimmered coldly. With just one glance, he knew it was far superior to his own dagger.

Then he picked up a foot-long knife of unknown origin, without a scabbard, looking extremely cold and dangerous. The blade was very thin, the widest part only two fingers wide, and there was a groove in the middle.

Additionally, there was a folded item that Wei Ziang fiddled with for a while, surprisingly discovering that such a small thing held many little gadgets.

Among the things he recognized were a small spoon, a small dagger, a pair of small scissors, and a small saw.

There were also some items he did not recognize.

Like the others, it was crafted from fine iron, with a surface so polished you could see your reflection.

He had never seen such things before and had no idea where Xiaomi had gotten them.

Seeing Wei Ziang’s attention focused on these first, Xiaomi sighed.

She wasn’t surprised, after all, Wei Ziang was a boy, and having aspired to join the military from a young age, it was normal for him to like such things.

"Little brother, those are just auxiliaries for you; what’s truly important are these items."

Xiaomi pointed to the bottles and jars beside her.

They were all porcelain bottles, but the contents were not.

"If you get injured, remember to use this to clean the wound. Pour out a little, use cotton to dab it, and then apply it on the wound. Remember not to put the cotton directly into the jar. If it gets contaminated, this whole jar of medicine will be useless."

This was iodine disinfectant. She had specifically sealed it in a wine jar, containing around five pounds, with a package of snow-white cotton placed beside it.

"This one is for reducing fever. If you have a high fever that won’t go away, take one pill directly. Remember to only take one, and absolutely do not drink alcohol when taking it, or it could be fatal."

This was fever medication, only a small jar with just twenty pills, and it was Western medicine. Although it works quickly, she feared the people of this world might not have taken it before and could have side effects.

"This is medicine to take after an injury. If the wound is large or red and swollen, take this one pill per day, and again, no alcohol."

Antibiotic, iodine is for disinfection, this one is for inflammation.

"This is for colds, and this one is for heatstroke. After opening, mix it with warm water and drink it directly."

These were cold medicine and Huoxiang Zhengqi, both traditional Chinese medicine granules. She had specially asked Ling’er to erase all the colorful patterns and fonts from the packaging.

The current medicine packages were pure white, almost transparent, clearly showing the brown granules inside.

To avoid mixing them up, Xiaomi also used a brush to label on the outside when each should be used.

Amid Wei Ziang’s shock, Xiaomi hesitantly pointed to the last jar.

The jar wasn’t large, about the size of two ounces of wine, and also sealed.

"I know many people die in war, especially in summer; if not handled properly, plagues can arise. The medicine inside is considered preventive."

For the first time, Wei Ziang lost his composure, his eyes wide as he exclaimed, "It can prevent plagues!"

Luckily, everyone else was outside in the courtyard, so no one noticed.

Xiaomi shook her head, "I can’t guarantee it, but it should have a certain effect. It’s just a precaution; if such situations do happen, we still need to come up with other solutions."

With that, Xiaomi pulled out a few pages from her sleeve.

"This one, this one, and this one, I don’t have the recipes for these."

Pointing three times in succession, they were iodine, fever medicine, and antibiotics.

All of them were Western medicine, and even if the components were written on the packaging, she wouldn’t know what they were.

"However, I did copy down the recipes for the cold medicine, heat-stroke relief, and this epidemic-prevention capsule."

With that, she handed the pages in her hand to Wei Ziang.

Wei Ziang was already overwhelmed by the series of shocks, unable to react, and just reached out blankly to catch the three recipes Xiaomi handed over.

"Our family is just ordinary folks; I dared not take these out before either. Since you’re joining the army this time, if there’s a suitable opportunity, you can make good use of them."

"Gaining rank and title is trivial, but if you can benefit the people, that is a significant achievement, especially this one."

Xiaomi pointed to the recipe for the epidemic-prevention capsule.

She not only copied the formula but also transcribed the main therapeutic effects.

"But one thing, little brother, you must not let anyone know these things are from me. You can even say, just like you told our parents before, that you remembered it yourself, but it must not be related to the Jiang family!"

"You can even fabricate a new background for yourself, like having suddenly been injured then regained memory, finding out your parents were miracle doctors, and these things were taught to you by them as a child."

"Of course, if you find it troublesome, just keep these recipes to yourself as a last resort."

She hadn’t dared to take them out before, fearing that someone would find out.

If anyone knew these were given by the Jiang family’s young daughter and further investigated to know she had been lucky since childhood...

Oh no, it would be over; the whole family would be finished.

Someone would definitely think she had more good things, and at that point, everyone in the family would be in danger.

But given to Wei Ziang, and with him presenting it under a different identity, no one would harm the other family members.

It’s especially convenient to fabricate an identity and origin.

Wei Ziang carefully stored away the three recipes and looked seriously at Xiaomi: "Don’t worry, Xiaomi, I’ll carefully memorize these when I get back, then burn them, and definitely won’t talk recklessly."

Xiaomi instantly beamed with a radiant smile: "Never mind that, I hope we never have to use them, actually. Let me explain what these are."

Then she picked up the Mitsubishi Military Dagger, telling him its convenience for bloodletting, whether for animals or people.

The dagger didn’t need further explanation; he should keep it close, just in case it was needed.

Then came the multifunctional army knife, and she introduced each small component’s function.

The bottle opener could be used to drill holes, the cap lifter could pry locks, the steel needle could pick locks, and the fork and knife made eating more convenient, among other uses.

Wei Ziang found it immensely intriguing. This was the first time he’d seen such a thing, and even books had no record, leaving him clueless about where Xiaomi had acquired it.

However, curiosity is one thing; he never inquired further. He had long known Xiaomi had secrets, but secrets remain so only when kept hidden. Once told to others, they cease to be secrets.
