The unknown mark struck the closed boundary a fourth time.

Nothing physical moved. The stone stayed level beneath Jiang’s feet, Hessa’s paper strips did not flutter, and the sealed Westfjords case remained dry under five separate hands.

Only the record route bent. Its straight observation line pushed inward around Jiang’s breast like a wire being forced around a post.
