Inside the locker room, i ’Oota’ changed into my indoor shoes. I stared at the entrance door just to the side, the group I had just walked in with were changing as well. The weather warm. The students that walked passed by were few while I could hear the endless echoes of noise from the building.

"Yo Oota" Aki called out to me.

"Hm?" I muttered.

"How are you and Shiwogata doing?" Aki asked his voice seemed calm, different from his usual cheerful self.

"Well...I don’t know...." I muttered my voice a bit low, I was not sure how to respond, Shion was someone who I had recently had a fallout with. Aki must have figured out that I was having troubles with Shion.

"Yet.." I added my voice remaining low and barely audible.

The donation and the handwriting was pointing to her but ..I thought before adding out of curiosity as to why Aki had asked.

"But what’s this about Shion, I didn’t know you were that interested on her more or less her presence" I think I might had said it harshly there but Aki didn’t flinch or react, he just chuckled a bit.

"You still don’t get me" Aki replied, his face not turning behind to me. He was done with his change but he still stood there facing the hallway’s direction while he watches the student walk passed by.

"I wasn’t asking because of Shion but, because of you. Y’all be acting weird around each other lately"

"..what do you mean?" I asked, as if I didn’t know it was obvious.

"Well, first she’s not clinging onto you anymore, by now I would be seeing her running calling your name so you guys can hang out"

"Man, I’ll be honest back then I was like ’Damn! I know my bud still got it!’.."

"But now bro, I can’t even tell if I’m tripping or just dumb"

I got to say that I was shocked to hear Aki say those things at first but after a second of processing I came to understand that I was being a bother to him. He just wanted to communicate better with me but I’ve be giving him the wall to talk to.

"I’m sorry" I muttered my voice low, I wasn’t supposed to feel any guilty but I could tell that part of it was my fault.

Aki sighed "look it’s not your fault, a little girl problem wouldn’t get me pissed. What do you take me for?"

"A gorilla.." I replied immediately with a straight face.

"Uh?" Aki muttered before we both smiled and laughed, Aki walked closer to me, tapping me on the shoulder before adding

"Yeah sure, whatever man"

"Yeah.." I replied.

"Speaking of which, I thinking maybe your girl got a new man" Aki added maintaining the same mood but a bit calmer now.

"Ahh...you mean Shion?" I asked, I was a bit confused but if you think of it for a moment, someone as cute and popular as Shion it’s kinda of impossible that she wouldn’t attraction the boys.

But though what made Aki to mention it? It’s as if he got his hands on some juicy info that he can’t hold long from me. I’m curious now.

"But wait how do you know that?" I asked sounding surprised.

His eyes shifted to me for a moment "yeah exactly what you are thinking. I do have some juicy info"

"Trust me, you are going to be shocked when you hear this" he added.

"Okay, what happened?" I asked.

"Let’s see for starters, some group from Class 3-B saw Shion all dressed up, waiting by the hospital several blocks from here"

"They did say that they asked her what she was doing there, but she just answered with ’waiting for a friend’ and something about visiting a friend’s aunt who was sick"

Those clicked to me as wrong immediately, first I was worried of how Shion was connected to the donation, that would mean she knew about my sick aunt and her condition.

My past is getting revealed without my awareness

Right no, I couldn’t care about her relationship but her involvement with my life to this extent? It was clear as day the envelope was her doing, I thought the name was just a trap since it was just too obvious but the handwriting was straight up hers, I don’t think one can actually copy others handwriting so perfectly.

"I see, wait what time is that? Cause we just started this semester" I asked for further confirmation.

Aki chuckled "finding it hard to belive? It was on Friday, the day before our finals"

Well that confirms things, the nurse from the hospital miss Mamamiya stated that it was on that same day the donation was brought in. Shion was spotted before or later in front of the hospital.

I can see why she would do this, things got weird between us so I can imagine her trying to soften things over.

"So do you believe me now?" Aki asked seeing as I was silent.

"Yeah, I understand now. Is that why you were asking about Shion? You wanted to know our relationship status for my sake" I replied then chuckled, honestly the way he executed it was funny now that I think about it.

"But dude, you don’t have to do it so roundabout" I chuckled.

Aki smiled "just looking after a friend"

For the first time today I actually laughed and smiled, I could feel my feature on my face right now all bright and warm.

But then a song started playing from no where, both me and Aki were taken aback by it. I recognised the song ’IDFC’ by Blackbear. Aki reached for his pocket seeing that it was his phone that was ringing.

"Oh hold on a sec, I should answer this." He muttered.

"Yeah sure" Honestly I was shocked to see Aki was into those kind of songs, I had thought American songs weren’t his thing. Even when it were viral on sad edits on tiktok and YouTube, I tried showing him some but he just wasn’t feeling it or so I thought.

I can’t really understand or read him at all

I felt a sudden beep from my phone, I think I had let it on my bag, so I took down the bag to check seeing some notifications on my phone. It was from a discord group I have joined way back, when I wanted to communicate with foreigners. I scroll through the group chat and saw a few messages directed to me.

Yyxx: Oota, you are so lucky. Shion has been updating your notes from your missed class sessions.

Yyxx: dude i wished I had a girlfriend like that, life must feel easy for you, no?.

The sender was anonymous, the name shown were ’yyxx’ which didn’t indicate anything, in discord the senders number are locked and inaccessible for security purposes, so I couldn’t call if I wanted to. But one thing was shown in this message, the sender knows Shion and me personally or is somewhat connected to us in this school.

I brought out some notes and placed them on the floor to check if it’s true, but yeah it was. the handwriting was the same as the one on the envelope.

For now I should just reply to who ever this is, since they are student from this school I can’t trust them but i shouldn’t pry deep into this, if any thing comes up relating to this ’Yyxx’ then i would know what to do.
