Shion’s monologue, POV

Class 3-D was a bit crowded than usual today, no from my perceptive it was. My presence didn’t mean much to me, but the interactions I had with others made it looked like it was precious or I was some important figure.

I had just newly stepped into the classroom doorway, I had this feeling of fear and shock still lingering on my chest. I had recently found Mataguchi laying down unconscious on the floor. The visual still remain fresh on my mind.

I released a sigh, one that i didn’t know I was holding, It was relief. For now it was a secret between me, Mister Yamaguchi and Mataguchi to keep. I’m sure he wanted it closed even from Oota. The AI surveillance cameras caught him crashing out, his capability will be tested, and will remain dominate in his lower class ranking for now.

"Hey Shiwogata-san" a female voice called out to me. I noticed it was a classmate of mine, she jigged up to me, her cheerful and playful attitude written all over her face.

"Hi there, Fuuyu" I answered, smiling in response. She was a friend of mine. Her brown short hair waving as she came to an halt. Her yellow eyes looking at me brightly.

"Tanya-San is trying to PK Anna in a battle royal" she uttered sudden, before hugging me. It was a desperate attempt to drag me along. "Come help us!!!!"

"O-okay okay okay okay, I will help" I replied stuttering a bit from the pressure. But it was nice, I smile following her lead forward.

"Yo Shiwogata-san did you still find Mataguchi?" A Male student asked from a small group of boys, his the ’$$’ on the group chat.

"Yeah thanks, you guys were a big help" I replied, warmly.

"Cool, hey you mind sparring some time to come hug out with us boys. You can invite some of your friends over too if you like" another added from ’$$’ group.

"I’ll think about it" I replied.

"Watch out Tanya, look who I’ve got" Fuuyu the cheerful girl who’s still holding me tight uttered loudly. Her fingers pointing towards another girl who sat perfectly still, lollipop on her mouth.

She couldn’t hear what Fuuyu was saying cause she had on a earphone, her big black sweater over her uniform, her eyes lashes were naturally long, She possesses an arresting, heavy-lidded gaze with dark, piercing eyes that look perpetually unimpressed, to me her eyes were like devoid of life and warmth. The edges and underneath of her eyes were darkened a bit. Her skin pale flawless white and her face has a smooth, pale complexion with sharp, clean-cut features and a stoic and neutral expression.

I think she had recently done her hair, Her hair were a deep, solid black, falling in a long, straight curtain that frames her face, ending in a precise, blunt-cut fringe that rests just above her eyes. She was completely focus on the game she was playing.

She wasn’t the type to Interact with people much.

I shifted my eyes to the other girl on the other side of the table, she seem shocked while she played on her Ps. Her appearance was a mid long black hair and green eyes. She had glasses on and looked like a nerd but she was rather too cute for that.

"Anna, what game are you guys playing? You look tensed" I asked.

"Hey I’m talking to you, you better not be ignoring me" Fuuyu continued to runt in front of Tanya who didn’t give her the time of the day at all.

"Mommy.." Anna muttered.

"Hmm?"

"Help me, my teammate is killing my other teammates and now they are after me" she added, she immediately let go of her device hugging me for comfort.

I’m guessing this has become a habit of theirs

"Mama, Tanya is ignoring me!" Fuuyu called out.

"I guess mama Shiwogata is back?" Someone said from the crowd.

"Where have you been? Your kids were arguing just a moment ago" another inserted.

"Wait, where is pops?"

"It’s alright Fuuyu, I’ll talk to her" I comforted her, she nodded in reply.

I walked closer to Tanya who finally muttered.

"Hmm? Yay Anna, you are not moving?" She paused immediately seeing I was close to her. I tapped my right ear with my finger indicating that she should take off her earphone which she understood immediately.

"Shiwogata?..."

"You shouldn’t be bullying Anna through video game. She’s quite sensitive to those kind of stuff" I complained, taking the Ps off her hands.

"But.."

"No buts" I intersected before she could finish. She slowly folded her self wrapped around her hand.

"I’m sorry..." she muttered, her voice incredibly low.

"It’s alright, Anna already forgave you." I added. Patting her on the head.

"Big sis Tanya, I-I had fun" Anna muttered. She wasn’t confident to say it out loud but she did anyways.

"So how was it? " Tanya suddenly asked. I couldn’t make any sense of what she was thinking so I was confused at the time.

"How was what? Sorry I don’t-"

"You and Pops" she added, interrupting me.

"You guys must be back together now, I mean judging from your mood of course"

She knows? Wait was I that excited? Gosh this is embarrassing. I don’t known how to face her. I can feel my own cheek turning hot.

I feel too self conscious all of a sudden, I tried not showing it as much as possible but.

"Eh?..uhh..I, we..." words just couldn’t come out from my mouth.

"Mama, you are blushing furiously" Fuuyu pointed out. This wasn’t the time to be observate, Fuuyu.

"I-i mean, well we..."

"Talked....and ..."

"He apologised for everything. I also did and things sort of just worked out on it’s own"

Why I’m i so embarrassed right now? I wasn’t when hugging Mataguchi just a minute ago...this is bad for my heart

My heart was beating fast in speeds I couldn’t imagine it to move at.

"That’s nice, Though I’ll have to warn you." Tanya muttered after listening to my explanation.

"Even if his social standing is currently on the on the lower side, because of his isolation complex. His getting more attention by the day."

"I won’t be surprised if someone started making a move on him by now" she added.

"....I know that" my eyes lowered to the side downwards. This was a feeling I didn’t think I will feel earlier on.

I didn’t feel angry or embarrassed from what she had said but I started feeling lonely.

Oota might not be that popular but his charismatic behaviour and willingness to listen to others gives him an edge over other guys I’ve known. His caring and thoughtful of others much less than for himself.

His Oota after all. Of course some girls will have the hots for him...

"Big sis Tanya.." Anna uttered, calling out to Tanya. It seemed my reaction was setting unwell for her.

Tanya paused for moment seeing Anna saddened expression before sighing.

"Forget what I have just said. Besides, the only girl pops seems comfortable with is you" she added.

"Yeah, aren’t no way pops can resist you" Fuuyu added.

I know they were trying to help but.

"S-stop saying that.." I muttered in protest, I wasn’t feeling sad anymore. But instead I felt my chest getting warm and my face became hot. This was getting embarrassing.

They didn’t reply but start chuckling, it was good to see them smile. I love this unity.

"Oh by the way, thanks for earlier Fuuyu. You were a big help" I had just remembered to thank her, during the search for Mataguchi, Fuuyu was active on the group chat and was the one who actually give me his location.

"Hmm? Oh right, it’s nothing. Did you find him by the way?" Fuuyu replied.

"Yeah, he was just about to head to the third floor when I caught him" I added.

"What’s this about?" Tanya question, curious.

"It’s nothing serious, I have a deal going on with a a friend of mine, Mataguchi I’m sure you know him"

"Mataguchi? ..wait you mean the President of the student Council?" Tanya muttered, realising who I was talking about.

"Yeah, that Mataguchi.." I answered.

"Well there is no other person named ’Mataguchi’ in this school.." she added.

"What deal do you have with him?" Anna asked.

Yeah what deal? Of course I can’t talk about the actual deal, it would be embarrassing. I know they are close friends of mine but there are still some things I just can’t open up and let them know even though it might be trivial things.

"You know, Oota-kun and I are childhood friends right?"

"Yeah, you told us. A while back when you first came" Fuuyu uttered I response.

"You see, before I met Oota I was already friends with someone. Mataguchi"

"We go way back"

"I see, so the President is your childhood friend?" Tanya muttered, her gaze lingered on me for a while before smiling.

"Then you guys relationship must be close, seeing as you were friends before Oota arrived" Tanya teased, I don’t know what she was thinking but it’s obvious that she must be misunderstanding things. I’m guessing she thinks Mataguchi and I have that kind of relationship.

"Really?.." Anna muttered, immediately keeping quite. She must have unconsciously said her inner voice.

"I wouldn’t say it’s like that. We did get along at some point but it’s just a friend sort of relationship. We both don’t have anything for each other"

"Infact it might even be null than neutral"

"Anyways we are going off topic here, I played a game and then he lost. Now his to do anything I say but his trying to run alway from it"

"Your relationship sounds complicated, I do have someone I wanted to connect with but circumstances always lead for us to not be near each other." Anna said, we listened closely to what she had to say. I haven’t heard about any of this, it was a first for me.

"Wait you have someone who you are interested in?" Fuuyu asked, she seem surprised as I am.

Anna nodded slightly, facing down trying to hide her face. Her cheeks were red. She seemed embarrassed.

"Y-yes.." she replied.

"Well that’s a bumper. Everyone seem to have at least one or two people in their lives who seem like a love interest. I’m wondering why I’m the only one left out?" Fuuya added.

She was trying to brightened the mood.

"What’s this about love interests?" A student walked in. A Male student to be exact, Kinto the class representative.

"I always thought you weren’t the type to be so invested in those sorts of excitements" he added, his blue sharp eyes scanning our micro expressions. His blonde hair fell neatly across his head.

"Kinto San" I muttered.

"Shion, in the next upcoming selection test. I won’t be holding anything back like last time"

"I don’t know what underhanded method you used to get the post of vice class rep but your declaration of taking this post is not going to be easy"

"Oh about that, I wasn’t really serious" I replied.

Honestly when I first came to the school last semester, I wasn’t really sure how the rules and system work in this level. Last semester was a test evaluation held for us first years freshers so I was kind of hyped and said some BS lot of crap to sound cool and intimidating.
