Chapter 289.3: 'Traitor Treasure' Talks The Spirit Relics Around! Lu Changsheng Collects Thirteen Spirit Relics! (III)
The Mountain-Moving Seal's artifact spirit looked every bit like the "traitor treasure" it was. It had actually taken it upon itself to coax and persuade the Mountain River Map's artifact spirit. The sight left the Sect Master of the Mountain River Sect dumbfounded. It was the first time she had ever seen a spirit relic's artifact spirit turn traitor so fast. The towering image of spirit relics seemed to collapse in her heart in an instant...
"Good, now that I have the Mountain River Map, I won't stay any longer." With that, Lu Changsheng left the Mountain River Sect behind.
That was only the beginning, as he still had many other spirit relics to collect.
Just like that, Lu Changsheng went across all of the Primal World demanding the spirit relics one by one. Most of the holy lands naturally handed theirs over obediently, but some stubborn holy lands refused.
With those stubborn holy lands, Lu Changsheng did not bother with idle talk. He did not even use a spirit relic. He simply manifested his Heaven and Earth Form and, with a single palm, smashed the sect's gate into ruins.
Then, he took the spirit relic by force and had the Divine Sword Manor's people come to take over the territory. It was that simple and direct.
After several months, Lu Changsheng had finally collected every spirit relic in the Primal World. Overall, he had obtained thirteen spirit relics. Truthfully, Lu Changsheng only needed a few of the thirteen. He had no use for the rest.
Suddenly, inspiration struck Lu Changsheng and a certain possibility occurred to him. "Oh, right! I'm short on Martial Dao fragments and deity fragments right now. I wonder whether I could auction them or trade them?
"Too many spirit relics could invite disaster. If spirit relics can be traded for Martial Dao fragments, then this trip's haul will be enormous..."
Spirit relics were rare enough that even Void Refinement experts fought over them. After all, a spirit relic could change a sect's fate. Owning just one was a foundation in itself.
For such precious spirit relics, trading them for Martial Dao fragments shouldn't be too hard in theory. If so, Lu Changsheng might be able to obtain a large number of Martial Dao fragments directly, instead of having to risk his life in secret worlds again and again and spend long stretches of time seizing fragments.
With that, Lu Changsheng first sorted out the spirit relics he needed. Among them, he determined that the Mountain-Moving Seal, the Mountain River Map, the Yin-Yang Twin Swords, and the Limitless Bell, roughly four spirit relics in total, would be of help to him.
As for the other nine, their functions either overlapped or fell short of what he required. In short, the other nine could all be traded away.
Since Lu Changsheng had beaten the great immortal sects into submission, none of them dared obstruct the spread of blood descendants anymore. With the Divine Sword Manor fanning the flames, blood descendants quickly spread across the entire world and came to make up seventy percent of the Primal World in just over a year!
Seventy percent was enough to push the Martial Dao to the Primal World's ceiling.
Boom!
That day, the Martial Dao was condensed further, and every martial artist at Third Growth and above sensed it. It had reached the limit! They could all sense that the Martial Dao had hit its limit and could advance no further.
No matter how many more blood descendants were born, the Martial Dao would not rise any higher unless the world itself advanced. If it didn't, the Martial Dao's ceiling would stay right where it was, unable to advance any further.
Lu Changsheng raised his head and murmured under his breath, "Twenty-five months... Just over two years..."
In two years, he had made the Primal World condense a Martial Dao, and had even pushed that Martial Dao to its limit.
Though he still had three years left, there was really no need to wait out those years.
The Earthly Saints of the Divine Sword Manor had long been unable to sit still. As soon as the Martial Dao finally reached its ceiling, they all hurried to find Lu Changsheng.
They had been in the Primal World for so many years, and now all they wanted was to reap the rewards. "Fellow Daoist Lu, now that the Martial Dao has reached its ceiling, can we shatter it and collect the Martial Dao fragments?"
Lu Changsheng looked at the Earthly Saints, then asked, "Fellow Daoists, have you thought about how to shatter the Martial Dao?"
At once, the Earthly Saints were taken aback. That was right! How were they supposed to shatter the Martial Dao? All this time, they had been focused on condensing it. Now that it had condensed, how could they shatter it?
"The Martial Dao in a secret world can only be shattered with absolute strength. In some of the weaker secret worlds before, we could summon our true bodies and shatter it with that power. However, now that our true bodies are already here in the Primal World, how do we shatter the Martial Dao?"
"With so many Earthly Saints joining forces, surely we can shatter the Martial Dao?"
Right, joining forces. That was the plan of the Divine Sword Manor's Earthly Saints, and it was essentially the only option they had.
"Very well, let's go and try it." Lu Changsheng led the Earthly Saints up into the sky. Several of the Divine Sword Manor's Earthly Saints could no longer hold back. They might not be able to handle Deity Transformation cultivators, but surely they could handle the Martial Dao? The Martial Dao was a sitting target, theirs to attack however they pleased.
With that, one Earthly Saint after another manifested their Earthly Saint Dao Body.
"Break!" They roared as their Earthly Saint Dao Bodies unleashed one terrifying attack after another. Countless attacks from those Dao Bodies poured into the Martial Dao.
Rumble!
The Martial Dao shook violently, but that was all. After the wave of bombardment, the Martial Dao showed essentially no sign of shattering.
The Earthly Saints knew that shattering the Martial Dao would not be easy, so every one of them bombarded it like mad, sparing none of their Dao Bodies' power as they pounded the Martial Dao relentlessly.
The Martial Dao had been condensed from the will of the masses, and it had reached the Primal World's limit. Under multiple waves of bombardment, the Martial Dao seemed to shake violently, yet it did not show the slightest sign of shattering.
In the end, the Earthly Saints bombarded it for three full days without rest or sleep until their Dao Bodies could barely hold up. Still, the Martial Dao in the sky showed no sign of shattering.
"Th-The Martial Dao is actually this hard to break?"
"Even with this many Earthly Saints bombarding it day and night, we can't do a thing to the Martial Dao! We can't even weaken it!"
"Damn! We shouldn't have pushed the Martial Dao to its ceiling back then. We never even thought about this problem."
"Right, pushing the Martial Dao to its ceiling brings huge rewards, of course, but only if we can actually get the fragments. With the Martial Dao this strong, we can't make a dent in it even if it was sitting right in front of us to pound on."
"We spared no expense advancing the Martial Dao because we wanted stronger Martial Dao fragments. Looking at it now, haven't we just shot ourselves in the foot?"
"Fellow Daoist Lu, it's up to you now..."
Once again, the Earthly Saints turned their eyes to Lu Changsheng. Truthfully, they had little experience with the situation either. Entering a secret world with one's true body was already very rare to begin with, and every one of them had only been thinking about maximizing their gains. Who would have thought about being unable to shatter the Martial Dao? Now that the problem had actually arrived, they were at a total loss.
Were they supposed to go and ask a Heavenly Saint to step in? Once a Heavenly Saint stepped in, there would be nothing left for them. The thought filled the Earthly Saints with bitterness, and they could not help looking at Lu Changsheng.
In the Immortal Martial World, these Earthly Saints were all considered overlords. Yet after coming to Primal World, every one of them felt utterly useless. It seemed they had not been able to help with anything at all.
However, what had not occurred to the others had long since been on Lu Changsheng's mind. He had thought about the problem long ago.
They had come with their true bodies, yet the Primal World's ceiling was at the Deity Transformation level. That meant that their true bodies were only at the Earthly Saint or Deity Transformation level as well. Once the Martial Dao condensed, could the Earthly Saints truly shatter it?
It seemed his earlier worry had come true. Ordinary Earthly Saints really couldn't do anything to the Martial Dao. In that case, it was up to him to act!
Luckily, Lu Changsheng had long since had a plan. For the past few months, he had been making thorough preparations to shatter the Martial Dao. Now, it was time to put them to use!
