Chapter 285.2: Destroying the Supreme Sky Sect! The Primal World is shaken! (II)

  • Next Chapter

The entire battlefield fell silent.

From the Golden Core and Nascent Soul cultivators to the Martial Saints and Earthly Saints, everyone had witnessed what had just happened. Even the ordinary people gathered below for the Supreme Sky Sect's disciple recruitment ceremony had seen the battle unfold in the sky.

A Deity Transformation grand elder had just been killed. Not only had his physical body and nascent soul been destroyed, but even his primal spirit had been completely annihilated, which was something utterly inconceivable in this world.

Deity Transformation cultivators stood at the very top of the Primal World's cultivation hierarchy. Beyond that level was ascension itself, and those who reached such heights were extraordinarily difficult to kill. Even when defeated by an opponent of equal strength, a Deity Transformation cultivator could usually escape by relying on the incredible speed of their primal spirit.

For that reason, while Deity Transformation cultivators could certainly suffer defeat, they rarely lost their lives. Their survivability was far superior to that of Earthly Saint martial artists.

But now, one of those powerful cultivators had just perished, and the one responsible was not another Deity Transformation cultivator, but an Earthly Saint from Divine Sword Manor. What made the sight even more terrifying was the ease with which Lu Changsheng had done it. Everyone had seen him destroy the grand elder's primal spirit with nothing more than a single breath. He had simply exhaled, creating a violent gust of wind powerful enough to tear a primal spirit apart.

The other Deity Transformation grand elders of the Supreme Sky Sect felt a chill run through them. Meanwhile, the martial artists of Divine Sword Manor erupted in celebration.

"Hahaha! Well done!"

"Several years ago, the Divine Sword Manor lost an Earthly Saint in battle against the Supreme Sky Sect. Now you've lost a Deity Transformation cultivator of your own!"

"And that's only the beginning! Today, we'll tear down your base and end your Dao tradition once and for all! Let the entire Primal World witness the might of martial cultivation!"

"To think an Earthly Saint could reach such heights! This is a moment of pride for all of us who follow martial cultivation!"

The morale of Divine Sword Manor soared. Lu Changsheng's overwhelming strength had exceeded even their wildest expectations. He had barely seemed to exert himself, yet he had crushed a Deity Transformation cultivator and destroyed his primal spirit with astonishing ease.

Now, the remaining grand elders of the Supreme Sky Sect were starting to realize just how hopeless the situation was.

"We can't hold them off any longer. Retreat!"

"That man is far too powerful! Even if we join forces, we won't stand a chance against him."

"We need to escape while we still can! Seek refuge with the other immortal sects. Divine Sword Manor is a gathering of evil demons and heretics, not true immortal cultivators. They won't be able to run rampant forever. As long as we survive, there will still be hope of rebuilding the Supreme Sky Sect one day!"

The grand elders had finally abandoned any hope of defending the sect. They had been determined to protect their million-year Dao tradition, but Lu Changsheng's display of strength had made it painfully clear that continuing to fight here would only lead to their own deaths, and none of them were willing to throw their lives away.

After all, they were Deity Transformation cultivators, powerful figures who commanded respect wherever they went. Even without the Supreme Sky Sect, they could establish themselves elsewhere and continue living as mighty overlords. Why should they sacrifice everything for a battle they had no hope of winning?

Within moments, the grand elders immediately disengaged from the fighting and scattered in different directions, fleeing without the slightest hesitation. By the time the others realized what was happening, the Deity Transformation grand elders had already disappeared into the distance. The Nascent Soul and Golden Core cultivators, slower to react and far less capable of escaping, were left behind before they could follow.

Lu Changsheng watched grand elders as they fled but made no attempt to pursue them. He realized he would not be able to catch up to them, and more importantly, killing the Supreme Sky Sect's Deity Transformation cultivators had never been his primary objective. Rather, he had come to demonstrate the might of martial cultivation to the entire Primal World, and with the Supreme Sky Sect's defenses shattered and its strongest cultivators fleeing for their lives, that objective had already been achieved.

"Destroy the Supreme Sky Sect!"

With that, Lu Changsheng's enormous Earthly Saint Dao Body expanded once more, growing into a gigantic figure that towered above the mountains and blotted out the sun. He raised his massive foot and brought it crashing down upon the Supreme Sky Sect.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

A thunderous rumble shook the heavens and earth as the entire base collapsed beneath his foot. The ground split apart, and the buildings that had stood for countless generations were reduced to rubble.

Countless disciples were buried beneath the ruins, from Foundation Establishment cultivators to Golden Core and Nascent Soul experts. Apart from the Deity Transformation grand elders who had escaped earlier, almost none of the sect's cultivators survived. The Supreme Sky Sect, an ancient immortal sect that had endured for a million years, had been completely annihilated.

Strangely enough, most of the ordinary people who had gathered to participate in the disciple recruitment ceremony emerged from the devastation unharmed. Although they had been caught in the midst of a terrifying battle, they had suffered little from it. What they had witnessed, however, left a far deeper impression.

These people had come to the Supreme Sky Sect hoping for an opportunity to master immortal cultivation. In their eyes, immortal cultivators had always been lofty, almost untouchable figures who possessed powers beyond the reach of ordinary mortals. But now, they had just witnessed one of the Primal World's most powerful immortal sects fall to a group of martial artists. Even mighty Deity Transformation cultivators had been forced to flee, while those who remained had perished without any hope of resisting.

For the first time, many of these ordinary people began to question what they had always believed about cultivation. If martial artists could become powerful enough to defeat immortal cultivators, was immortal cultivation truly the only path to greatness? Could they follow the martial path instead? Once that possibility occurred to them, it took root in their minds, and the more they thought about it, the harder it became to dismiss.

"The Supreme Sky Sect has actually been destroyed..."

"Unbelievable! The Supreme Sky Sect has been around for a million years! Who knows how many Deity Transformation grand elders they've produced? How could a sect like that be wiped out?"

"But we all saw what happened. What exactly is this Divine Sword Manor? I couldn't sense any spiritual energy fluctuations from those people. They say they practice martial arts, but since when could martial artists become so powerful?"

"Even if some of the Supreme Sky Sect's Deity Transformation grand elders escaped, I doubt they'll be able to accomplish much now. Their base is gone, and Divine Sword Manor will undoubtedly take control of their territory. We'd better start thinking about how we can join Divine Sword Manor."

"Exactly! What difference does it make whether we follow the immortal path or martial path? As long as we can grow stronger and rise above others, the path itself doesn't really matter, does it? Perhaps we should ask about Divine Sword Manor's admission requirements. I wonder if they also test for spirit roots..."

Lu Changsheng looked at the chattering crowd below and smiled slightly. Their sudden interest in the Martial Dao had not escaped his notice.

"Go down and tell them about Divine Sword Manor," he told the Martial Saints. "Anyone who wishes to join must first be converted into a blood descendant and cultivate the Flesh and Blood Martial Dao to the Third Growth."

The Martial Saints immediately acknowledged his orders. After the battle, Lu Changsheng's prestige within Divine Sword Manor had reached an unprecedented height, and no one dared to defy him.

After all, Lu Changsheng was different from their enemies in the Primal World. If they encountered an opponent they could not defeat here, they could simply retreat to the Immortal Martial World, where the cultivators of the Primal World would be unable to pursue them.

However, Lu Changsheng could return to the Immortal Martial World as well. If they offended him, there would be nowhere for them to hide, and not even Divine Sword Manor could protect them from his wrath.

One by one, the Martial Saints descended from the sky and began addressing the crowd.

"If you wish to join Divine Sword Manor and follow the martial path, you must first become a blood descendant."

"Once you become a blood descendant, you'll need to cultivate the Flesh and Blood Martial Dao to the Third Growth before you can formally join Divine Sword Manor."

"Anyone can become a blood descendant, regardless of whether they possess spirit roots or any special cultivation aptitude. Even immortal cultivators can undergo conversion, provided they're willing to cast away what they've cultivated so far and start anew on the path of martial cultivation..."

The crowd erupted in excitement as the implications of these words sank in. No spirit roots? No special aptitude required? For these ordinary people, who had come to the Supreme Sky Sect hoping to be accepted as disciples, this opportunity sounded almost too good to be true.

"I want to join!"

"To think we don't even need spirit roots! I've never heard of anything like this!"

"If anyone can become a blood descendant, who wouldn't want to join Divine Sword Manor?"

"Exactly! Immortal cultivation has always required spirit roots, but how many people are lucky enough to be born with them? I never imagined there was a way to become powerful without them!"

"I'm ready to become a blood descendant right now!"

More and more people voiced their enthusiasm, and before long, countless members of the crowd were clamoring to undergo conversion.

Of course, Lu Changsheng could not personally carry out the conversions, but arranging for a group of blood descendants to come from Divine Sword Manor was a simple matter.

Everyone living within Divine Sword Manor's existing territories had already been converted into blood descendants. With the Supreme Sky Sect destroyed, the next step was to conduct the conversion process throughout the lands that had previously fallen under its control.

This would be a far greater undertaking, because the Supreme Sky Sect had ruled over a territory with a population vastly larger than Divine Sword Manor's existing sphere of influence. Converting so many people into blood descendants would require considerable time, even with Divine Sword Manor's resources.

Regardless, for the time being, there was nothing more Lu Changsheng needed to do. Having destroyed the Supreme Sky Sect and secured its territory, he could leave the rest to Divine Sword Manor.
