Chapter 253.3: Come At Me Together! I'll Fight Dozens All At Once! (III)
For a moment, the entire training hall fell silent. Many people could not believe that the match between Senior Sister Xiang and Lu Yuan had ended almost as soon as it began. Some were even wondering if the whole thing was staged.
Senior Sister Xiang's first two attacks had seemed weak and ineffective, while Lu Yuan had sent her flying with a single punch?
No, this isn't real. This must be staged!
Lu Changsheng glanced at the crowd of onlookers as if he had read their thoughts.
"You probably think Senior Sister Xiang wasn't using much strength, but she actually did use Hidden Force in both attacks. It simply couldn't get through my defenses. If you don't believe me, all of you can come up and try me. In fact, come at me all together. I'll take on dozens of you!"
His gaze swept across the students with open confidence.
The students of the Crane Martial Arts Center were hot-blooded and proud, and being openly challenged like that was bound to stir them up.
"Get him!"
Sure enough, dozens of students charged at him together. They were not formal disciples and had never truly entered the martial arts community, so they had little concern for the conventions of a proper martial arts challenge. If Lu Yuan himself had invited them to attack together, they certainly saw no reason to line up and fight him one by one.
Fei Qianliu made no attempt to stop them either.
Traditional martial fighters, even those who had cultivated Hidden Force, were actually quite vulnerable to being swarmed. After all, Hidden Force placed a heavy burden on the body and could only be unleashed so many times before exhaustion set in. Against dozens of attackers coming from every direction, a Hidden Force martial artist could still be easily overwhelmed and beaten down through sheer numbers.
Perhaps a Transformation Force martial artist, whose control of the body and awareness of incoming attacks had reached an extraordinary level, could cope with several opponents at once. But even then, there had to be a limit. Enough attackers could eventually wear anyone down, and that was precisely why Fei Qianliu did not stop the attacks. He wanted to see just how Lu Yuan's Extreme Martial Dao would perform against a group assault like this.
Truth be told, Lu Yuan's Extreme Martial Dao had already shaken him far more deeply than he cared to admit. For more than twenty years, he had believed Spiral Force to be one of the foundations of his martial arts, but as it turned out, it could not harm Lu Yuan whatsoever. That experience had begun to undermine his confidence in the martial arts he had believed in all his life.
Meanwhile, in the main hall, facing a mob of dozens, Lu Changsheng remained perfectly calm.
"Good. Come at me!" he taunted.
The Extreme Martial Dao did not focus on refining elaborate methods of Force. Its purpose was much more direct: to strengthen the body itself—muscles, fascia, bones, blood, and every other part of the body. And as they improved, so would strength, speed, endurance, toughness, and every other aspect of physical ability.
Rather than relying on increasingly sophisticated techniques to squeeze more power from an ordinary human body, the Extreme Martial Dao sought to raise the body's fundamental capabilities beyond their original limits.
That was the difference Lu Changsheng cared about, because no matter how ingenious a method of Force became, what use was it if the body itself remained weak?
Dozens of students rushed Lu Changsheng at once, attacking from every direction with punches and kicks. Meanwhile, Lu Changsheng simply planted his feet firm on the ground and thrust both hands forward.
Bam!
More than a dozen students were sent flying in an instant and crashed to the floor.
Before they could recover, Lu Changsheng was already moving again. His speed and agility left them little chance to surround him. He weaved through the crowd, grabbing one student after another and flinging them aside.
Within just a minute, dozens of students lay on the ground groaning in pain, while Lu Changsheng stood in the middle of the hall completely unscathed.
"Anyone else?" he asked, looking around the room.
The students who met his gaze quickly lowered their heads. Even several of his senior brothers standing nearby looked away.
Lu Changsheng turned toward them. "Senior Brothers, don't you want to give it a try?"
None of them dared to move. They knew they did not stand a chance.
Under normal circumstances, beating ten people at once was already terrifying enough. Lu Yuan, however, had just taken down dozens without so much as getting a scratch. Judging from how little effort he seemed to have expended, even a hundred opponents might not be enough to exhaust him.
For the first time, these senior brothers began to think that perhaps the Extreme Martial Dao really was as extraordinary as Lu Yuan claimed.
"Forget it. Your Extreme Martial Dao is clearly powerful, Junior Brother Lu," said one of them. "We're no match. We'd just embarrass ourselves by fighting you."
"Exactly. Even Senior Sister Xiang lost. If we try, we'd just end up making fools of ourselves."
Then, another senior brother looked at Lu Changsheng with obvious curiosity. "Junior Brother Lu, your strength and speed just now were incredible, and dozens of people failed to hurt you despite attacking together. Is all of that really because of the Extreme Martial Dao you created?"
At that moment, the senior brothers became intensely curious about the Extreme Martial Dao. They all knew that after the Martial Dao tournament, Lu Yuan had spent most of his time recovering, which meant that even if he really had created the Extreme Martial Dao during that period, he could not have practiced it for very long.
However, in that short amount of time, his body had already undergone an astonishing transformation. His strength, speed, endurance, and toughness had reached a level that seemed almost inhuman. Even someone naturally gifted with exceptional strength would struggle to compare. And if this transformation was because of the Extreme Martial Dao, then its potential was far more frightening than any of them had imagined.
"Of course it's because of the Extreme Martial Dao," said Lu Changsheng with a faint smile. "Do Senior Brothers want to learn?"
"Well..." Several of them immediately glanced toward Fei Qianliu.
They were formal disciples of the Crane Martial Arts Center. They had learned the Crane Style and Spiral Force under Fei Qianliu's guidance. Whatever curiosity they had about the Extreme Martial Dao, they could not simply start practicing another system without first receiving their master's permission.
"Master, what do you think?" Lu Changsheng bowed respectfully to Fei Qianliu.
Fei Qianliu was still struggling to process everything he had witnessed. All the beliefs about martial arts he had held onto all along were beginning to crumble. And for the first time, he felt that the Force he had painstakingly cultivated for decades had all been in vain.
"Lu Yuan, is this Extreme Martial Dao of yours really as remarkable as it seems?" asked Fei Qianliu, still clinging on to his last strand of belief.
"Master, you'll know once you try it," replied Lu Changsheng. "In fact, whether you are a Senior Brother, Senior Sister, a student, or even an ordinary person, all of you can practice it! Within a month, you should be able to feel noticeable results. So why not give it a try for just one month?"
Lu Changsheng was confident that once everyone here practiced the Extreme Martial Dao for a month, they would become utterly obsessed and devoted to it. Of course, they might not progress nearly as fast as him; their consciousness was not as powerful, and they could not control every organ or every bit of their flesh and blood. But it did not matter; Lu Changsheng had already anticipated this anyway.
For that reason, he had created several specific movements for them to practice daily, based on his own experience. These movements stimulated digestion and helped the body absorb and make better use of nutrients, allowing practitioners to strengthen themselves without needing the same extraordinary level of bodily control he had.
The efficiency would be only about one percent of Lu Changsheng's own, but even that was more than enough. His rate of improvement was so astonishing that one percent of it could still produce obvious changes in an ordinary person within a relatively short time.
Moreover, that one percent was only a starting point. As practitioners became more familiar with the Extreme Martial Dao and gradually learned to consciously control their stomach, organs, and other parts of the body, their efficiency would continue to rise. In time, reaching ten percent of Lu Changsheng's efficiency, or perhaps even more, was entirely possible.
Fei Qianliu considered the proposal for a moment, then said, "Alright. One month. I'll give it a try."
He then turned to the other disciples and students. "Anyone who wants to learn may practice it as well. But everything you learn stays within the martial arts center. No one is permitted to teach it to outsiders without permission."
With Fei Qianliu's approval, the others no longer had any reason to hesitate. Senior Sister Xiang and several senior brothers immediately decided to learn. Even the dozens of students whom Lu Changsheng had just knocked to the ground wanted to try it for themselves too. After witnessing what Lu Yuan's body was capable of, curiosity had quickly overcome whatever embarrassment they felt about losing to him.
Lu Changsheng smiled. It had only been a month or two since he created his Extreme Martial Dao, and already there were dozens of people looking to learn it. If they experienced clear improvements over the coming month, they could become the first group to help spread the Extreme Martial Dao beyond the Crane Martial Arts Center.
And so, to ensure that this first group of learners saw clear results, he used the one million yuan compensation from the Martial Dao tournament organizers to purchase highly nourishing supplements from the Ancient Pharmacy.
Then, over the following month, he continued practicing the Extreme Martial Dao at the Crane Martial Arts Center while guiding Fei Qianliu, his fellow disciples, and the other students through the movements he had developed.
And just like that, the one-month period had passed. On the final day, dozens of people who had practiced the Extreme Martial Dao gathered on the second floor of the Crane Martial Arts Center.
Today, they would finally see what one month of practice had accomplished. Those results could determine whether the Extreme Martial Dao had the potential to spread far beyond the Crane Martial Arts Center, perhaps even replacing the Force martial arts of Secret World No. 18 altogether.
