Chapter 1442: Chapter 1442: Where Did My Mom Live Before

Aurelia Shaw fell silent for a moment. "Where did my mom... used to live?"

The butler answered frankly, "Miss didn’t live here before. Back then the Parker Family was still in a small town. It’s only in recent years that they moved here to M Town."

In other words, if Aurelia wanted to look for traces of the life her mother had lived here, she was probably going to be disappointed.

Aurelia said nothing, simply nodded.

The butler couldn’t help giving Aurelia another look. He thought to himself that the little miss really was different from everyone else—this kind of calm composure was something others simply didn’t have.

News reached the Second Courtyard very quickly. The Second Madam’s face was dark. "That girl actually slipped back in without anyone knowing! Clara Philips even claimed she could handle that woman, and in the end, she sent her own daughter in as collateral!"

Joaquin Parker looked utterly disdainful. "Mom, it’s just a little girl and you’re this scared? Is that necessary? Even if her mom was the old man’s favorite back then, that was her, not this girl. Besides, her mom got pregnant out of wedlock back then and was kicked out by the Parker Family."

Hearing this, the Second Madam let out a breath of relief.

Joaquin sneered. "I think you’re being used by the First Branch. They want to borrow your hand to get rid of the people they can’t stand."

The Second Madam’s face changed at Joaquin’s words and suddenly sank.

Thinking it over carefully, she really did seem to have been used.

That damned First Branch.

"I’ll go over with Seraphina and take a look. I also want to see what kind of woman the old man has brought back."

When she heard the servants say that people from the Second Branch had come, Aurelia’s lips curled in a cold sneer. So they couldn’t hold back this quickly.

She received the two of them in the living room.

Joaquin stared at Aurelia, stunned for a moment, and then his gaze stuck on her and wouldn’t move away. "Are you settling in okay here? If you need any help, you can come to me."

Joaquin was the textbook playboy rich second generation. He liked pretty girls, only lust, never love. He liked to lure every good-looking girl into his bed. His methods with women were cruel—some girls vanished without a trace after sleeping with him.

Aurelia’s peach blossom eyes narrowed coldly. Seeing the way Joaquin was looking at her, she sneered inwardly: looks like Joaquin doesn’t even have the most basic sense of decency.

"No need. I’m used to keeping to myself, and I don’t like strangers. If there’s no real need, you’d better not come over here," Aurelia said.

She loathed this kind of person the most.

People who didn’t take human life seriously, who thought that just because they had money and background they could toss even the lowest bottom line aside.

She remembered that Joaquin’s end later on was miserable.

Thankfully she’d spent a few years in M Nation and happened to have seen Joaquin’s news, and she had a photographic memory.

Seraphina couldn’t swallow it. "What’s with that attitude of yours?"

Aurelia smiled. "This is my attitude. And in the future, when you come over, this will still be my attitude. So don’t come sticking your warm faces to my cold backside. Saves you trouble, saves me trouble."

Seraphina was infuriated by Aurelia. She dragged Joaquin to leave. "Brother, let’s go. We came with good intentions and got treated like crap. Since she doesn’t appreciate it, what are we still sitting here for?"

Joaquin didn’t want to go, but Seraphina yanked him along. This little sister of his had been pampered and spoiled since she was a child; Aurelia’s barbed words had pissed her off like this for the very first time.

Joaquin found Aurelia even more interesting. Women with a bit of personality were more appealing.

"Brother, do you like this new woman?" Once they were outside, Seraphina looked at Joaquin with tears brimming in her eyes.
