Chapter 1438: Chapter 1438: I’ll Eat It!
Early the next morning, Aurelia Shaw was busy in the kitchen.
She glanced at the time, Caspian Parker should be getting up soon.
Aurelia knocked on the door, poking her head inside, "Brother, are you up? Can I come in?"
Caspian stood wrapped in a towel in front of the wardrobe, having just showered.
His wet black hair hung messily, his gaze still heavy with sleep, deep and dark like a cold spring, but the sharpness in his eyes softened when he looked at Aurelia Shaw.
Aurelia entered with a cheeky smile, sitting cross-legged on the bed, resting her chin on her hands watching Caspian dress, quietly amazed by her brother’s perfect physique.
Caspian liked wearing shirts, which could look awkward if one’s body proportions weren’t right, but he had a great physique, and he had a preference for plain clothes.
He might not stand out ordinarily, but undressed his body was surprisingly flawless.
Aurelia unabashedly surveyed him, her peach blossom eyes narrowing with a grin, "Brother, you have a great body."
Caspian shot her a sideways glance, "There’s no negotiating about the Parker Family business."
"..."
"I haven’t even spoken, how did you know?"
Caspian snorted, "You don’t need to say a word, seeing your sneaky cat expression, I already know."
"Brother, I made breakfast for you." Aurelia’s peach blossom eyes looked at Caspian, shining brightly.
Caspian felt a chill down his spine, sensing something ominous.
Staring at the bowl of black stuff, Caspian’s brow twitched fiercely, "What’s this?"
"It’s porridge I made, um... I might have cooked it for too long, and didn’t add enough water, so it got a bit burnt," Aurelia’s voice dropped.
Caspian rubbed his forehead.
"Brother..."
"I’ll eat it!"
Caspian doted on this sister fiercely, her one look reminded him of the pitiful gaze of James, his heart softening.
Even if there was poison in front of him, he’d drink it.
Otherwise, it would break Aurelia’s heart.
The ragdoll cat James jumped on the table, sniffed the bowl, and disdainfully walked away without turning back.
Aurelia’s peach blossom eyes curved in amusement, with a flash of mischief.
Caspian had a habit of practicing piano in the music room after breakfast.
Aurelia followed him there too.
"Brother, the ’Norma’s Memory’ you played last time, I’ve practiced it at home. Let me play it for you again." Aurelia offered proactively, as streams of musical notes flowed from her long, slender fingers, filling the music room.
Caspian frowned and after a long pause, raised his hand to interrupt Aurelia, "Don’t play anymore."
"Brother, does it sound bad?" Aurelia tilted her head, questioning.
"The music is chaotic, your mind isn’t calm enough to grasp the essence ’Norma’s Memory’ wants to convey," Caspian replied weakly.
Aurelia lowered her head, "Maybe I’ve been thinking about too many things lately."
Caspian glanced at Aurelia and finally understood her intention.
This little girl still hoped he’d agree to her returning to the Parker Family despite circling around the topic.
Caspian said nothing and walked away.
In the days that followed, Aurelia woke up early every day to make breakfast.
Hadrian Turner worriedly hesitated, "Aurelia, is this really working? If your brother doesn’t agree to your return..."
"Then I won’t go back."
Her quick response stunned Hadrian.
Aurelia curved her lips, "He’s the only family I have left. Although I want to acknowledge the Parkers, I don’t know what kind of people they are. I can’t give up my brother for a group of strangers.
If my brother doesn’t agree, I won’t reconcile with the Parker Family."
Hadrian fell silent.
At this moment, Aurelia’s phone rang.
It was Mason Nightshade.
"I’ll pick you up." Mason said succinctly.
