Chapter 1409: Chapter 1409: They Want Me to Go Back?
"Brother, I’m hungry," Aurelia Shaw said with a cat-like smile.
Caspian Parker was taken aback for a moment, then smiled, his expression tinged with helplessness as he playfully tapped her forehead, "Alright, I’ll go cook for you."
Caspian cooked while Aurelia sat nearby watching, playing on her phone. After a while, she glanced towards the kitchen again.
Recalling his earlier attitude of helplessness, Aurelia said, "Brother, you promised me before that you’d cook for me. You know how clumsy I am when it comes to this, I can’t cook at all. If you let me cook, I’d surely burn down your house."
"Indeed, you must not enter my kitchen," Caspian replied with a hint of disdain.
Aurelia pouted in frustration, "You’ve changed, you’re actually sneering at me now."
Caspian laughed heartily, aware she was joking, and said nothing.
Noticing Caspian’s gloomy demeanor these past few days, he finally cracked a smile, and Aurelia’s lips curled in response, a mischievous glint flashing through her eyes.
During dinner, Aurelia bit on her chopsticks, glanced at Caspian, then glanced at Hadrian.
Caspian sensed she had something to say.
After Aurelia had glanced over a dozen times, Caspian put down his chopsticks, sighed, seemingly resigned, and said, "If you have something to say, just say it. Keep staring, and you’ll bore a hole through me."
"Even with a hole, my brother looks good."
Aurelia first complimented him, then voiced what was on her mind.
"Brother, is it something to do with the Parker Family?"
Anything that could trouble Caspian would likely involve the Parker Family.
Aurelia had guessed it, but she could tell her cousin didn’t want to talk about it, so she hadn’t asked.
However, these past few days, seeing Caspian’s condition deteriorate day by day, Aurelia knew the matter needed resolving sooner rather than later.
This matter definitely involved her, so she had to take the initiative.
Caspian was stunned.
He hadn’t expected her to pinpoint it so quickly.
This sister of his was even smarter than he’d imagined.
He hadn’t said much to her these past few days, yet observing his behavior, she’d deduced it involved the Parker Family.
Her deductions might not stop there.
After a period of reflection, Caspian sighed, resigned, and said, "Indeed, it’s related to the Parker Family."
"Does it also relate to me?" Aurelia inquired, hesitating momentarily, "Could it be... they’ve discovered me?"
Caspian was taken aback again.
Only now did he realize this sister of his was far smarter than he’d thought.
"Yes," Caspian answered after a moment’s contemplation.
Aurelia didn’t show any surprise on her face.
She had already guessed.
It actually wasn’t hard to guess, as her cousin had always wanted her unconnected with the Parker Family. Even when visiting her, he erased all traces.
She had Hadrian investigate.
She was also curious about the Parker Family, secretly looking into them, yet each time her cousin visited, he’d erase all traces, leaving no evidence.
Then she figured it out.
Her cousin didn’t want anyone from the Parker Family discovering her.
Why?
Was it because of her mother?
What was the reason her mother left home back then?
These questions remained unanswered.
But as her cousin clearly didn’t want her involved with the Parker Family, she ceased investigating further.
Now, the issue had resurfaced.
Her cousin didn’t want her involved with the Parker Family, so whatever arose must pertain to the Parker Family.
"What are their intentions? Do they want me to return?"
With this thought, Aurelia’s face twisted into a cold smile, as she felt nothing for the maternal side she’d never encountered.
