Chapter 1391: Might As Well Give Her a Child!

  • Next Chapter

A few days later, Mason Nightshade set up a special network connection for Aurelia Shaw so she could go online.

The first thing Aurelia did was send a message to Alaric Wood.

That message landed in Mason Nightshade’s hands almost instantly.

His subordinate asked Mason Nightshade how they should handle it.

Mason Nightshade glanced at the message, waved his hand, and didn’t intercept it.

Unless absolutely necessary, he didn’t really want to interfere with her.

After sending Alaric Wood the message, Aurelia had been planning to surf the web for a while, but a message from Caspian Parker suddenly popped up.

Aurelia was puzzled.

Her brother hadn’t contacted her for a long time, but he was often out performing. He’d been on tour recently and hadn’t had time to get in touch. That was normal.

Aurelia tapped open the message, and froze.

“Aurelia, something’s happened. Come back.”

Caspian Parker rarely ever texted her; he didn’t like sending messages.

But she did, and sometimes he’d indulge her, chatting with her for a bit.

Still, he would never say something in just a few short words.

Unless… something really was wrong!

But what could possibly happen to her brother?

Aurelia thought of something, and her eyes went cold.

It was night by the time Mason Nightshade returned.

When he came back, he didn’t go straight to Aurelia’s room. Instead, he took a shower in the downstairs bathroom.

He didn’t want to show up in front of her reeking of blood.

He pushed the door open and paused in surprise.

Aurelia wasn’t asleep yet.

Her long hair spread out like seaweed, her lashes fine and long, casting a faint shadow under her eyes. Her skin was pale, her lips flushed soft red, carrying a cool, distant air.

Mason Nightshade wrapped his arms around her from behind, kissed the crown of her head, and breathed in the scent of her hair.

His hair was still damp, and Aurelia turned her face away to the side.

Mason Nightshade’s brows knotted. He reached out, hauled her back into his arms, caught her chin, and crushed his mouth down on hers.

He went in hard, but the moment he touched that soft, delicate mouth, his movements gentled.

He kissed her for a while before letting her go, gaze burning as he watched her slightly panting, flushed face, his fingers brushing twice over her long lashes.

“What were you reading?” Mason Nightshade bent to pick up the book on the floor.

When he’d come in she’d been reading; during their kiss, the book had fallen to the ground.

It was the script for World.

“Sawyer really is a stingy bastard. You’re injured and he still won’t let you rest. Stop reading.” As he finished, the script flew out of his hand, tossed into some unknown corner.

“I need to go back for a bit.” Aurelia said.

Mason Nightshade’s expression darkened on the spot.

So she hadn’t pushed him away like before, just to tell him this?

“I told you, once you’re healed I’ll send you back. You don’t believe me?” Mason Nightshade raised a brow.

“I have something I need to deal with.”

Seeing that she was set on going back, Mason Nightshade’s eyes went instantly darker.

He scooped her up, set her on the bed, and then leaned over her.

He was careful not to touch her injured shoulder.

These past few days Mason Nightshade had been very gentlemanly with her.

So this sudden burst of anger caught Aurelia off guard.

Before, he’d at most hold her, never really crossing that line.

Aurelia thought it through carefully and understood—Mason Nightshade had taken it the wrong way.

She pushed at him with her hand. “It’s not what you think…”

Her hand was moving all over the place. Worried she’d pull open her wound, Mason Nightshade trapped both her wrists, grabbed the torn pajama top on the bed, and tied her hands above her head.

Aurelia: “…”

Should she be… complimenting him right now?

“Mason Nightshade, let me go!”

Mason Nightshade just kept devouring her mouth, as if he hadn’t heard a single word she said.

Either way, she was going to go back to that other man.

No matter what he did, no matter how much he said, she’d still go back to that other man.

He might as well… give her a child.
