Chapter 1378: Chapter 1378: Consumed by a Sea of Fire

Vespera Bennett frowned at Ian Wang’s words, clearly disagreeing. "Weren’t you planning to get what you want out of him? If you kill him, how are you supposed to get your hands on it?"

Ian Wang smiled at Vespera Bennett. "The biggest threat Country Z poses to us right now is Mason Nightshade. Once he’s dead, you really think we’ll have trouble getting our hands on the goods? This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to kill Mason Nightshade! Activate all the traps!"

Ian Wang left the monitoring room and went to the room where Aurelia Shaw was being held.

"Your man’s here to rescue you."

Aurelia Shaw narrowed her eyes and let out a cold laugh. "Ian Wang... I didn’t expect the one who caught me to be you. If it’s you, that means the person who wants me grabbed is him.

I didn’t think you’d still refuse to give up."

"You’ve still got value we can exploit. Why would we ever give up?"

Aurelia Shaw didn’t think too deeply about Ian Wang’s words.

Ian Wang removed the iron chain locking her in place, then strapped the micro bomb to Aurelia Shaw’s wrist. His expression turned icy as he warned, "You try any tricks and I’ll detonate this bomb."

Aurelia Shaw curled her lips into a lazy smile, casual and careless. "How powerful is this bomb? You’re standing this close to me—if you set it off, how exactly are you going to get away?"

Ian Wang’s face changed.

"You... you’d better not play any games."

"With guts that small, how did the people behind you even dare send you to grab me?"

Ian Wang yanked Aurelia Shaw and dragged her out along the exit route.

Vespera Bennett frowned. "What are you bringing her out for?"

Vespera Bennett wasn’t stupid; she would never trust Ian Wang completely. Five years ago she’d personally experienced just how terrifying Mason Nightshade’s skills were. A measly little villa—could it really stop Mason Nightshade?

Now it was clear Ian Wang had never truly intended to kill Mason Nightshade.

No. Of course he’d prefer to kill him—but most likely he was planning on taking them all down with him in a mutual destruction.

Vespera Bennett turned this over in her mind, then glanced at Aurelia Shaw again. "Where are you planning to take her?"

"Mason Nightshade’s here—do you really plan to let him walk out of here with this woman safe and sound? This woman is a disaster waiting to happen. Even if we can’t kill Mason Nightshade, killing her is enough to crush him in an instant." Ian Wang let out a cold, vicious laugh.

"But Che— that man over there?" Vespera Bennett frowned.

"The boss will take care of it. This is his order too. Move!" Ian Wang shoved Vespera Bennett aside.

A blast sounded from outside the window. Ian Wang paused mid-step to look, his gaze turning dark and cold, then dragged Aurelia Shaw and ran into the mountains.

At the same time, his finger pressed down on the detonator.

Bombs had been planted beneath the villa, enough in number to blow everyone to pieces.

If they could blow Mason Nightshade to bits, that would be ideal. If not... the death of this woman would still be enough to cripple Mason Nightshade for a while and buy Night some time.

"What was that remote?" From the corner of her eye, Aurelia Shaw had caught Ian Wang pressing some kind of remote and a bad feeling rose in her chest.

Staring at the villa where gunfire rose and fell, the unease in her heart grew stronger and stronger.

"Hmph, what? Obviously it’s something to make Mason Nightshade die here! I’ve always said women are trouble. If it weren’t for you, Mason Nightshade wouldn’t have a single weakness, and we’d never have gotten a handle on him. Now he’s going to die, and it’s all because of you—because you became his weak point." Ian Wang said this to beat Aurelia Shaw down, to shatter her emotionally.

This woman was full of schemes, her cunning no less than Mason Nightshade’s. Take your eyes off her for one second and you’d fall into her trap.

He’d let his guard down for just a moment and she’d already managed to leak the villa’s location.

He had to get rid of this woman as quickly as possible!

"Boom—!" The explosion made the ground shudder violently!
