Chapter 79: Chapter 79 Lysander Valmont

Eyes locked onto the young man’s words, every student tried to identify him as though he were some celestial being that had descended from the heavens. And indeed, he looked like one.

His face was pale as fresh chalk, his lips small and rosy, while his jawline was long and so sharply defined that it looked capable of slicing through skin. His head was held high with an elegance that radiated pride and authority. Anyone who looked at him for even a second would immediately conclude that he belonged to royalty.

"Why is everyone staring?" he asked with a faint smile. "Come on, I’m new here. I registered yesterday, don’t you remember?"

The question was directed at Mrs. Danielle, who blinked repeatedly as she searched her memories.

It wasn’t that registering a new student was strange.

The problem was that the academy had suspended new admissions after the recent incidents. Allowing someone in now was against every regulation they had put in place, and even she knew she would never have done something like that willingly.

"Oh, Mrs., your mind must’ve been somewhere else," the young man said lightly. "Try to remember."

Immediately, Danielle felt an odd pressure in her head.

It was as though her thoughts were being pulled apart one after another.

Then...

Something snapped.

Her eyes widened before suddenly relaxing.

"Oh... I remember now." She smiled awkwardly. "Lysander Valmont. Forgive me. I completely forgot to introduce you."

The name alone sent a violent shiver through Lamia and Rose.

Both of them stared at the newcomer with their mouths hanging open.

Lysander.

That single name had become an evil omen in every record Lamia had managed to uncover.

According to his research, Lysander was the Devil’s son.

Someone destined to plunge the world into endless darkness.

That was exactly why Lamia had been trying so desperately to stop Noah from making the mistake that could destroy his life forever.

No one else knew the complete truth.

Only him...

And Rose.

They had planned to tell Noah everything before it was too late.

But now...

Every document clearly stated that Lysander had been sealed inside the Great Abyss under an eternal sleeping spell.

So how...

How was he standing here?

"Wasn’t he sealed away under a sleeping spell?" Rose whispered nervously. "Who could’ve broken something like that? Who was powerful enough?"

Lamia’s eyes suddenly widened.

A horrifying realization flashed across his face.

"Remember..."

"Ashton is a Pureblood."

Rose immediately looked toward him.

"And one of the Purebloods was the one who trapped Lysander in the first place."

His breathing became uneven.

"What if... Ashton released him?"

Rose shook her head almost instantly.

"No."

Her voice was firm despite the fear inside it.

"Noah wouldn’t do something that reckless."

She lowered her voice.

"Unless..."

"He was deceived."

"...Or it happened by accident."

Silence settled between them.

Lamia rubbed his forehead before sighing heavily.

"Sometimes I feel like we’re trapped inside some endless loop."

His eyes wandered around the cafeteria.

"And every time we think we’ve escaped..."

"We’re dragged back into something even worse."

He lowered his voice further.

"Look at Maria."

"Who would’ve believed she could do something like that?"

"I couldn’t."

"But everything happening now feels like one giant conspiracy."

He swallowed.

"And don’t forget..."

"She erased everyone’s memories."

Rose slowly nodded.

Someone capable of rewriting the memories of hundreds of people...

Someone capable of altering reality itself...

That wasn’t an ordinary enemy.

"I don’t think Ashton defeated her."

Lamia continued.

"I think we’re still dancing exactly where she wants us."

Rose tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear as goosebumps spread across her skin.

The thought alone terrified her.

They had believed the danger was over.

Instead...

They had simply been living inside another illusion.

The school authorities refused to acknowledge how serious everything had become.

It was foolish.

The monsters roaming the forest.

The creatures inside the cemetery.

The graves being dug up in secret.

Every single trail pointed back to Quintorian Empire.

Then there was the awakening of the Pureblood...

The exact same day Ashton fell from that cursed building.

And if that wasn’t enough...

He possessed Grave Affinity.

An affinity feared even among ancient records.

Yet somehow...

He also wielded Light.

It made absolutely no sense.

Light and darkness weren’t supposed to coexist.

They should’ve destroyed each other.

"I’m afraid it’s up to us now," Lamia whispered.

"We have to solve this ourselves before we become the next victims."

His expression hardened.

"As for saving the Quintorian Empire..."

He laughed bitterly.

"I honestly don’t care."

"My priority is surviving."

"And protecting Ashton."

His eyes narrowed toward Lysander.

"Whatever that man is..."

"I’ll never allow him anywhere near Ashton."

Rose could only stare at him.

The protectiveness in his voice wasn’t something she had expected.

For someone who constantly complained...

Lamia truly cared.

Meanwhile, Lysander’s appearance had completely shifted the atmosphere inside the cafeteria.

Only moments ago everyone had been ready to crucify Mrs. Danielle.

Now...

Every pair of eyes had settled on the mysterious newcomer instead.

"He looks like a vampire."

A female student whispered dreamily.

"So pale..."

"So beautiful..."

"I can’t stop staring."

Several students gasped at her shameless honesty.

Yet...

None of them could deny it.

"Mr. Lysander," Mrs. Danielle said politely after clearing her throat, "I apologize for today’s commotion."

"This isn’t how things normally are."

"Perhaps we should continue this conversation in my office."

Before he could answer, several medics rushed inside carrying a stretcher.

They stopped beside Slyvia.

Carefully lifting her onto it.

Everyone watched in silence.

As they began wheeling her away...

She forced herself upright one last time.

Her weak voice echoed through the cafeteria.

"If you all want to live..."

"...Then cage him."

Her trembling finger pointed directly at Ashton.

"That boy..."

"...Will become a monster."

"And monsters should never be allowed to roam free."

The entire cafeteria exploded once again.

"Lock him up!"

"Cage him!"

"Suspend him!"

"Seal him away!"

Voices overlapped until it became impossible to distinguish one from another.

Mrs. Danielle felt genuine panic for the first time.

Oliver scanned the crowd.

His sharp eyes quickly found the students provoking everyone else.

The elites.

Again.

He cursed quietly and stepped forward to interfere.

Before he could speak...

Clap!

Lysander brought his hands together.

The single sound echoed unnaturally through the hall.

Every voice disappeared.

Every eye turned toward him.

"No one..."

He spoke calmly.

"...is touching him."

His crimson eyes slowly brightened.

An eerie glow spread across his pupils.

At the same time, his long raven-black hair began floating as though an invisible wind surrounded only him.

His overwhelming aura swallowed the cafeteria whole.

"I will personally train him."

His gaze swept across everyone.

"And Ashton Lane..."

"...is my mate."

A stunned silence followed.

"So let that be enough reason for every single one of you..."

"...to stay away from him."

His voice deepened until it almost sounded inhuman.

"Tomorrow."

"During the mating ceremony..."

"I’ll mark him officially."

"He will become mine."

"My one and only Omega."

"So hear my warning now."

"Interfere..."

"And I shall unleash my wrath."

Not a single student dared breathe.

The pressure radiating from him was suffocating.

Lamia clenched both fists.

His chair scraped loudly against the floor as he prepared to stand.

Before he could say a word...

Oliver shot him a warning glance.

Don’t.

Those eyes carried only one message.

Reluctantly...

Lamia remained seated.

Mrs. Danielle simply face-palmed.

Seriously...

What was wrong with this man?

Didn’t he know about Noah and the Four Moonlight Alphas?

Why couldn’t he simply leave the poor boy alone?

Why insist on becoming an obstacle every single time?

She couldn’t understand what he hoped to gain from all of this.

Lysander slowly approached her.

Leaning close enough that only she could hear.

"Help me."

His whisper was colder than ice.

"And I’ll return your dominion over this academy."

"Over every student."

"Over every teacher."

A brief pause.

"But refuse..."

"And I’m afraid..."

"You’ll die."

Danielle’s throat tightened.

She swallowed hard.

Unable to respond.

Even from the stretcher...

Slyvia heard enough.

A faint smile appeared across her pale face.

If Lysander marked Ashton...

Then the Four Moonlight Alphas would finally be free from him.

Everything would return to the way it was supposed to be.

Satisfied...

She allowed herself to be wheeled away.

Little by little, the atmosphere inside the cafeteria settled.

The students who had been demanding punishment now whispered excitedly about tomorrow’s mating ceremony instead.

For the first time since the chaos began...

Mrs. Danielle finally exhaled in relief.

At least they weren’t trying to tear her apart anymore.

Without another word...

Lysander turned around and walked away.

His long coat flowed behind him while the crowd instinctively parted to create a path.

Not one person dared stop him.

The teachers slowly dispersed as well, each wearing troubled expressions.

Only Oliver remained behind.

He lifted a hand and gestured toward Lamia.

"I think he’s calling you," Rose whispered.

"I don’t know what this is about..."

"But be careful."

Reluctantly, she left.

Oliver waited patiently until the cafeteria had nearly emptied.

Only then did he walk over.

His stern expression softened ever so slightly.

"How are you holding up, boy?"

A small smile appeared on his face.

"Come on."

"Let’s grab some coffee."

"We have a lot to talk about."
