Chapter 76 Losing control.
Chapter 76: Chapter 76 Losing control.
Shock rippled through the crowd as they watched the transformation before them.
Maria still couldn’t give a definite reaction. Although she was speechless by the way everything had turned out, she still refused to expose herself completely.
"Stop this crazy act, Ashton. You’re getting out of control. I think he should be contained."
Her words had an immediate effect as countless eyes turned toward him with anger, seeing him as nothing but a weapon of destruction.
Noah didn’t feel bad.
It was as though he was no longer himself, like another being had taken control while the overwhelming power surged through his body, pumping through every joint and vein.
"Then I suppose it’s time to die... for real."
The words came out like a final ultimatum.
A dreadful silence descended upon the cafeteria as no one knew whether he was joking or completely serious.
Abigail suddenly burst into laughter while glancing at Emily.
"This is one of Slyvia’s tactics to make all the attention fall on her, isn’t it? This is just another one of her games. Ashton is probably being forced into this. Maybe she threatened him."
The moment those words left her mouth, Noah’s neck snapped in her direction.
With a simple wave of his hand, a terrifying force erupted upward, wrapping around Abigail before violently dragging her across the hall as though an invisible monster had seized her.
Abigail’s laughter vanished instantly.
Horror filled her face because she had truly believed he was only pretending.
Even Emily was about to step into the argument, but an icy chill suddenly crawled down her spine, stealing the air from her lungs.
She wisely chose to mind her own business before she ended up dead as well.
"Why should I let you leave?" Noah’s voice echoed without emotion. "You will kill countless people and bring even greater destruction. It’s for the greater good."
A massive swirl of energy began forming inside his palm as brilliant golden light poured out, weaving itself into long, beautiful threads that danced through the air like divine silk.
"This is your judgment, Maria Gonzalez."
His molten golden eyes narrowed.
"See you in hell."
The entire ground shook violently.
The cafeteria trembled.
The academy itself groaned under the terrifying pressure as cracks raced across the walls.
******
Killian shoved a hand through his hair while pacing restlessly.
Beside him, Eugene was doing the same, panic written all over his face.
"He’ll kill everyone here!" Eugene shouted. "We can’t let that happen. This will become a disaster."
Killian already knew.
Even without Eugene saying it, he understood Noah was moments away from wiping out hundreds of students.
"Someone stop him!" Emily screamed in terror. "He’ll kill us all!"
Not far away, Slyvia slowly lifted her head despite the agony tearing through her broken arms and shattered bones, injuries Noah himself had inflicted earlier.
Blood stained her uniform as she glared toward him.
"Kill him!" she screamed hoarsely. "That’s the only way to stop this! He’s completely out of control! Can’t any of you see that? Stop being so stupid!"
Before anyone could answer, a massive wooden beam crashed beside her.
She threw herself aside just in time.
The deafening impact made her gasp as she realized she had nearly been crushed to death.
Killian clenched his fists and rushed forward.
The moment he reached Noah’s barrier, an invisible force slammed into him, throwing him backward.
The barrier wasn’t simply blocking anyone from entering.
It was crushing anyone foolish enough to challenge it.
"I’ll break through!" Killian growled through gritted teeth. "I have to!"
He refused to let Noah continue down this path.
If Noah crossed this line...
There would be no coming back.
Eugene also forced himself against the barrier.
His entire body trembled under the pressure before his eyes suddenly widened.
"...Damn!"
His voice cracked.
"I can feel my powers again!"
He looked toward the Moonlight Alphas.
Immediately, every one of them tested their magic.
One after another, their affinities responded.
Their powers had finally returned.
"Easy!" one of them warned. "Take it easy, boys! If you force yourselves, you’ll die before he does!"
He wasn’t wrong.
Blood streamed from both Eugene’s and Killian’s noses as the barrier rejected them again and again.
---
Meanwhile...
The academy continued falling apart.
Walls split open.
Windows exploded.
Students screamed while desperately scrambling toward every possible exit.
Lamia groaned as he slowly pushed himself off the floor.
His entire back burned from where Noah’s earlier attack had thrown him.
"Damn..."
He winced.
"That hit came out of nowhere."
Rose struggled to stand nearby.
"What is happening now?"
The violent trembling beneath her feet made her look up.
Her eyes widened.
"Shit... that isn’t Ashton... is it?"
Lamia froze.
Standing in the center of the destruction was Noah.
His academy uniform had completely disappeared.
In its place was a shimmering white garment that radiated an ethereal glow.
His once-short purple hair had become longer and softer, flowing behind him like silk.
His silver eyes had transformed into molten gold.
There wasn’t a single trace of humanity left within them.
Only destruction.
Only judgment.
He wasn’t calming down.
If anything...
He looked ready to erase the academy itself.
"We can’t just stand here," Lamia muttered.
"We have to stop him."
His mind raced through every spell he knew.
But he was only a witch.
A witch stood absolutely no chance against a Pureblood.
Compared to Noah’s power...
He was nothing more than a tiny flicker of light trying to challenge the sun.
"Are you sure?" Rose asked nervously.
"What about the Alphas?"
Before Lamia could answer...
Another violent tremor shook the academy.
The ceiling groaned.
Large cracks spread across it.
The entire building was moments away from collapsing.
"No!" Killian roared.
Eugene bit down hard on his finger while forcing himself deeper into the barrier.
Marcus and Damian rushed toward Lamia almost immediately.
"Help him!"
Marcus grabbed Lamia’s shoulder desperately.
"Please... I’ll pay anything. Just stop this."
Lamia hesitated.
He honestly wasn’t sure whether anything he did would matter.
But standing still wasn’t an option anymore.
He slowly closed his eyes.
Inside his mind...
He imagined Noah’s swirling tendrils folding inward.
Closing.
Binding themselves together.
Soft Latin words rolled off his tongue as his spell began.
Almost immediately...
Nature answered.
Trees outside swayed violently.
Leaves rose into the air.
The wind roared across the academy grounds before exploding forward as a massive wave that slammed directly into Noah.
Yet...
He didn’t move.
Not even a single step.
He continued casting.
The divine light only became brighter.
******
At last...
The countless golden tendrils condensed into one enormous vortex of pure light.
It devoured everything in its path.
"He released it!" someone screamed.
"Now!"
The first wave shot toward both Maria and the injured Slyvia.
Neither of them could escape.
Slyvia couldn’t even move.
Maria remained trapped inside the glowing circle beneath her feet.
Lamia looked toward Marcus and Damian.
Both silently begged him to do something.
He inhaled deeply before pouring even more mana into his spell.
Across the battlefield, Noah finally reached Maria.
"This isn’t over!" Maria shouted fearlessly.
"You can’t stop me! I will have my revenge! Every Alpha in this academy will fall! Every grave left empty... every Omega buried without justice... every Alpha will replace them! Body for body! Grave for grave!"
Even while the divine light consumed her, she refused to surrender.
Her skin slowly began peeling apart beneath the overwhelming radiance.
"You’re on the wrong side!" she screamed.
"You’re an Omega! When the Emperor comes, you’ll become nothing but another tool! That’s all we’ve ever been! Join me! Together we’ll become unstoppable!"
Noah tilted his head.
His glowing golden eyes flickered slightly.
Then...
He laughed.
A cold laugh.
One that carried no warmth whatsoever.
"It seems..."
His voice echoed through the collapsing cafeteria.
"...you’ve forgotten who truly has authority here."
The divine vortex intensified.
"It is time for you to return to where you belong."
"The underworld."
The golden light crawled across Maria’s body like living flames.
She let out a horrifying scream as her flesh continued peeling away beneath its judgment.
"You’ve killed enough!" she cried.
She desperately tried to summon the stolen power she had gained.
Nothing answered.
The crushing weight Noah released had emptied her completely.
She couldn’t even fight back anymore.
She could only scream.
Cry.
And wait for death.
At that exact moment...
Mrs. Danielle arrived alongside Mr. Warwold, Harold, and Mr. Oliver.
The deafening explosion that greeted them sent shattered glass flying into the surrounding walls.
Every one of them froze.
Their jaws slowly dropped as they took in the devastation before them.
Students fleeing.
The academy collapsing.
And Noah...
Standing like a god delivering judgment.
Then everything became worse.
The roof finally gave way.
---
Eugene broke through the barrier.
Ignoring the burns spreading across his body, he threw himself around Noah from behind, wrapping him in a desperate embrace.
He buried his face against Noah’s neck before placing a trembling kiss there.
"Please..."
"I love you."
"Don’t do this."
"Come back to me."
"I was scared. I thought I wasn’t enough for you. I thought leaving you alone was doing you a favor."
His voice broke completely.
"Please... don’t destroy your humanity because of me."
His Alpha pheromones flooded the air.
Warm.
Gentle.
Familiar.
For the first time...
Noah’s fingers trembled.
Nearby, Lamia saw the roof finally collapsing.
His eyes widened.
"So this is all I can do..."
He stretched both hands toward the sky and screamed.
An enormous surge of magic burst from his body.
The falling debris stopped.
Massive blocks of stone hung frozen in midair.
Even the shattered ceiling refused to fall another inch.
Eugene’s skin had already been burned raw from forcing his way through Noah’s barrier.
Blood dripped from countless wounds as he weakly carried Noah away from the center of the cafeteria before collapsing onto the ground outside.
He pulled Noah into his chest despite barely having the strength to breathe.
Tears rolled silently down his face.
"I’m sorry..."
"I was too late."
"I just wasn’t strong enough for you."
His voice became nothing more than a whisper.
Then he lowered his head against Noah’s chest...
...and quietly began to sob.
