Chapter 41: Chapter 41 Tension in classroom.

Noah had completely forgotten that he was supposed to be heading to Mr. Warwold’s class. The second he stepped through the door, he wished he could vanish just like Marcus had done earlier.

Almost immediately, Killian waved at him from his seat, completely unbothered by the creepy teacher standing right at the front and displaying something that was apparently important for the lesson. Which to Noah notice, the important thing was non other than a frog.

"Gross. Is that really what we’re supposed to touch?" Noah pulled an irritated face while glancing at Eugene, who didn’t look disgusted at all. If anything, the alpha seemed pleased with whatever the man was showing.

"Aren’t you moving? Come on, go in," someone behind him urged. Noah didn’t want to leave the safety of the doorway, but when a sharp, almost bewitching glare landed on him from the teacher, he forced his feet forward.

"Oh, so isn’t that our savior, Mr. Ashton? I heard you stopped the gate from releasing more monsters. How cute." The man turned to face him directly. Noah couldn’t figure out what the teacher’s problem was. Didn’t he have a happy home? Or was he just this miserable in real life?

"I don’t know, man. It just happened," Noah replied.

The teacher glared at him right away. "I guess you haven’t gone through proper training yet, because you don’t call me ’man.’ I am not your age in this world, so don’t try me, kid."

Noah looked baffled. He couldn’t understand what he had said that was so offensive. The class, which usually buzzed with murmurs, was strangely silent today. Everyone stared at him with sincere interest, clearly waiting to hear what he would say next. The room was so deathly quiet that Noah was sure a pin dropping would be heard by the entire class.

"Mr. Warwold, did you choose to do this on purpose, or didn’t you notice that he is with me?" Eugene, who had been watching everything with an icy expression, finally intervened. The teacher simply chuckled, acting like Eugene’s words held no weight.

"Well, young man, your money might affect other people, but it definitely won’t work on me. And I think we should all know exactly how he did what he did. Is that such a bad thing?" His words clearly triggered Eugene. The alpha shifted from his position with precise, controlled movements.

"It’s not bad, but what does the emperor have to say about this? I wonder what he’ll do when he learns that one of his assigned teachers is harassing a student he’s supposed to train. I won’t spell it out for you, but you know the consequences yourself." Eugene didn’t wait for the words to fully settle before glancing toward Sylvia.

"She has been blabbering around that she saved you all, right?" The whole class nodded, looking at him in surprise, wondering how he had found out. Even Noah was shocked. He hadn’t expected Sylvia to stoop that low.

"So, Mr. Warwold, call her out to explain everything to the class. Wouldn’t that be more entertaining?" But the teacher didn’t move. Noah studied his face and caught what looked like fear flickering in his eyes. He gasped internally.

He couldn’t believe Eugene was putting the teacher in his place on his behalf, especially after everything Ashton had been rumored to have done. What exactly did these alphas suddenly want with him?

At the edge of the elite grounds, Sylvia felt her blood turn to ice. Abigail and Emily didn’t even glance at her. They looked ready to burst into mocking laughter. Behind them, Damian stood with clear anger written across his face.

"Why would you do that, Sylvia? Didn’t my warning at the office stick with you?" People started watching them closely, some trying to piece together what kind of warning he meant.

"I never knew you were such a vicious bitch. Here I was trying to introduce you to my kingdom’s people, but thank you so much for showing your true colors." Damian gave her a disdainful look that made Sylvia’s face turn paler than chalk.

"You can’t do that to me. You all can’t, because of him. So you’re all suddenly gay for him, right? Is that it?" She spun toward Killian, but he wasn’t paying her any attention. Instead, he stared intensely at both Eugene and Noah, his mind calculating how he could get them alone for some physical time together. That thought consumed him far more than Sylvia’s crying.

"I’m talking to you! Don’t ignore me. I won’t let this slide. I won’t ever. You know I’m the emperor’s ward. What would he say if I told him you’re all chasing after some homeless omega in school? Oh dear, you can’t even imagine it—you’d all be ruined." The threat hung in the air like a sharp knife.

Even Noah, who felt intense pressure where he stood, tried to move toward his seat. Sylvia turned sharply on him. "Birthday boy, don’t you dare move if you don’t want me to attack you."

Her words acted like a signal. All the moonlight alphas stood up at once, as if summoned together. Marcus stopped holding back and moved closer to Sylvia.

"What did you just tell him?" he demanded. She stood her ground.

"That’s not your fucking business. Touch me and I’ll forget I ever loved any of you. I’ll make sure all your lives with this lowly omega are completely ruined." They all tried to speak up for Noah, including Eugene, who positioned himself right in front of him, daring her to try anything.

The scene felt almost laughable. Eugene had hated him the most before, yet here he was acting so protectively it almost seemed like a joke.

"Don’t..." Noah slammed a heavy fist on the table. Everyone turned toward the sound. "Can you all just keep quiet and let her talk for a moment? Thanks for sticking by my side, but I have my own mouth. You’re not my mouthpiece."

Eugene winced at the words. "Well, thanks so much." Noah ignored the comment and stepped forward to confront Sylvia directly.

"You know, girl, you’ve crossed the line countless times already. But here’s a final warning: I don’t ever want to see you in your mop face or worm-ass body trying to touch a single strand of my hair. You know those rumors about me being evil? You might find out they’re true, because I might do something that ends with you dead." His words carried a chilling edge.

"Don’t even try it. Let’s be real—you’re interested in them, but they don’t want you. This is pathetic. I thought Ashton was bad, but you wear the crown. Who whines for a man like this in this century? It’s genuinely disturbing and embarrassing."

Sylvia looked lost, unsure where she stood anymore. Noah kept hitting her with sharp words one after another until she stood frozen like an old antique forgotten in a dusty house.

"You’re alone now, and it’s understandable—you chased your friends away. You faked stories about defeating monsters. I don’t give a fuck about that. But don’t you dare involve me again. I let you go last time when you framed me at the assembly. Sylvia, carry yourself in peace and don’t try me. Don’t make me show you why they call me a villain."

Sylvia looked like she was a minute away from losing control completely. Lamia and Rose almost pulled out their devices to record, but with Mr. Warwold still present, they held back out of respect. Sylvia finally ran out of the class crying. They let her go without stopping her. Noah didn’t feel any guilt. She had long deserved to face the consequences of the terror she had spread to others.

"I changed your seat. It’s not falling apart anymore. Check it out," Killian said, his voice calm as always. The smooth melody haunted Noah’s ears. Why did he always speak with that tone?

"Thanks so much." Noah walked over and tested the chair. Mr. Warwold watched them, his anger building with every passing second. Just as Noah settled in, Damian approached with a huge package in his hands.

"Happy birthday, dear," he said warmly, then lowered his voice to a whisper. "For keeping my secret." Killian frowned, and so did a few others, but Damian paid them no mind.

"Later, can we talk? It’s very important to me. Something is going on that I need you to know." Noah nodded. He didn’t understand why he suddenly felt responsible for Damian, but the feeling was real and strong.

Eugene approached next with a strange expression, reaching into his pocket for something. Before Noah could see what it was, the teacher finally snapped.

"Enough!" he screamed. "Sit down and let’s finish this lecture on battle magic, you lazy students. Bring out your frogs and show me how to make your enemies bleed to death in battle without harming yourself."

The class fell silent at once. The brief spark of happiness died instantly. Lamia turned around. "What a joy killer," he muttered. Noah laughed lightly and waved at Rose, who seemed to be recovering. While he searched irritably for his frog, the sound of sharp boots on the floor made the whole class turn.

Noah didn’t look because of the footsteps. He turned because of the familiar lemon scent that suddenly filled the air.

"Hi, Mr. Warwold. I was put in this class," Philip announced.

Noah’s blood nearly froze.
