Chapter 37: Chapter 37 Killian’s breakfast.

Sleep that moment would have been one of the best things Noah had experienced since he became part of the supernatural world. Ever since he arrived, good sleep had eluded him. He was constantly hunted in his mind by lingering mysteries about his true self and the strange figure that kept appearing in his dreams.

It had become consistent: Noah didn’t go a single day without a migraine because restful sleep was denied to him. But thanks to whatever Damian had done, this sleep was one of the sweetest he could remember. He cuddled the pillow tightly, moaning softly as he snuggled deeper into it, as if it were a warm body beside him.

As he continued sleeping peacefully, something intense suddenly shone into his eyes. One unfortunate soul had opened the curtains and windows, letting bright sunlight flood the room. With sleepy eyes, Noah stirred to curse whoever it was and roll back over. That’s when he caught sight of someone seated in a chair across from him, legs crossed majestically as he read through a book. God knows where he had gotten it from.

"What in the fuck is this?" Noah muttered. He glanced toward the corner and saw the window wide open, curtains drawn fully back. He was ready to scold his roommate, thinking he was the culprit, but the guy wasn’t anywhere around—only the one sitting there reading.

"Noah, you’re awake. Oh my, I’m sorry. I think opening the window must have woken you up." The speaker looked so innocent that Noah stared at him incredulously.

"Please don’t make that face as if you didn’t do this on purpose." Just like that, his peaceful sleep was ruined. The morning’s calm was crushed as if it had never existed.

"Which face am I making?" Killian asked, genuinely confused, before standing up. Still seated on the bed, Noah gawked at him. So that was his natural expression? The way it looked so cute and innocent made Noah feel a twinge of guilt.

Oh, that was his plan. No way—I won’t be gaslit like this.

"You didn’t jump off from the window, did you?" The open window was clear proof that he had.

"Okay, let’s stop this. What are you even reading, and how are you in my room so early in the morning? Is this supposed to be normal?" Noah spoke while glancing around. That’s when he spotted a tray on a stool nearby. On it sat toast and a mug of hot chocolate, still brimming and steaming.

His cheeks turned hot immediately. Was that for me?

Killian noticed where his eyes had gone and stood up right away.

"I’m so stupid. I wanted to see if you had gotten better, and in the process I thought—what would serve you better than breakfast in bed?" The words made Noah’s heart almost leap. Who wouldn’t feel touched by something like that?

Noah wanted to point out that such gestures were usually for couples, and that they weren’t anywhere close to that kind of relationship. Plus, assuming what he would like felt a bit wild.

"It’s... well, I don’t know what to say. But isn’t that kind of romantic? You’re supposed to do this for Sylvia, not me." He tried to steer the conversation back toward the supposed heroine, but Killian wasn’t willing to shift focus.

"Nice try, Ashton, but I said it’s for you. I sought help from Rose—she told me what you’re really into and your favorite foods, so I went ahead and got this." Noah nodded, a small smile breaking through. For Rose to help with this meant she was getting better, and that thought alone lifted his spirits a little.

"Also, it’s to thank you for saving us and the school yesterday. You won’t be called out with any disarming tags anymore—I personally made sure of it." Killian walked forward and handed the tray to Noah.

Noah took it and looked back at him, trying to read what was really going through his mind. Killian was being far too sweet, and it left Noah off balance.

"Well, thanks. I appreciate the breakfast. But tip for next time: if you want to bring me breakfast like this, tell me in advance. Because I honestly thought you were some kind of troll a few minutes ago." He watched as Killian’s eyes drifted down to look at himself before staring back at Noah.

"You think I was a troll? Do I look like one?" The way he asked it was so earnest that Noah felt the urge to laugh, even though he was trying not to.

"Well, that was my honest reaction when I first woke up." Killian nodded and returned to the chair he had been seated in earlier. He rubbed his hands together, secretly watching Noah to see how he would handle the food.

"Shit, I haven’t brushed my teeth yet. I can’t eat this without brushing." Noah started to climb down from the bed, but Killian rushed over, lifted him in a bridal carry, and set him down gently. Stunned beyond words, Noah simply gaped at him.

"Why did you carry me? I can walk—my legs aren’t even injured." Killian shrugged casually.

"What? Don’t you want to be pampered?" he asked in return. Noah took a step back. This was overwhelming and too much to handle all at once. As he looked around, he noticed his uniform neatly arranged on the hanger near the chair.

"Tell me that you didn’t do all of this?" But Killian neither accepted nor denied it. Noah’s gaze then landed on his boxers, also neatly arranged, and embarrassment rose straight to his throat.

With quick speed, he snatched the underwear from the hanger and glared at Killian.

"Those are private property. They’re restricted to me only and shouldn’t be touched like that." He was trying to set some boundaries, but it wasn’t very effective with the way Killian kept smirking, as if it were all some joke.

"Don’t feel shy. We both have cocks—it’s not like we aren’t both guys. Or should I help you wear it so I can show you how?" Okay, that was enough. Noah grabbed his pillow and threw it at him, ready to chase the intruder out.

"Privacy now!" Killian staggered slightly from the impact of the pillow.

"But I still have more things to do, like help you with the uniform. And we’re supposed to discuss what happened at the graveyard. You saw something about me, right? Your expression changed right away—tell me what it was." After those words, Noah looked at him and winked.

"That’s some cute persistence, but this discussion is over. Give me space and let me dress up." Before Killian could say more, Noah dragged him by the arm until he was out of the room, then shut the door firmly behind him.

"Gosh, why isn’t the window safe anymore? How do they keep jumping through it like it’s some long-jump tournament?" Noah looked through his window and groaned.

"Damn, his ass was soft," Killian murmured to himself outside, smiling while flexing his palms as if still feeling the memory.

Noah on the other hand leaned against the closed door for a moment, heart racing from the whirlwind of the morning.
