The air pulsed and changed before the whole environment twisted around them, and within the blink of an eye, they found themselves in another dimension.
A world completely different from what they normally saw.
The moment their feet touched the land, the strange pressure around their lungs disappeared, and Noah was finally able to breathe properly again.
He glanced up, tilting his head before gasping at the beauty in front of him.
It was breathtaking.
The entire place was surrounded by forests, tall trees stretching toward the sky with flowers growing everywhere beneath them. Birds chirped from the branches, their sweet voices filling the air, while a gentle breeze passed through the leaves and made everything feel almost unreal.
"I never knew he loved nature. This is absolutely breathtaking," Noah exclaimed as he looked around.
Behind him, the four Alphas stood close by, following his gaze as they took in their surroundings.
"I’m shocked too, but he isn’t a monster, so I guess he could love nature," Marcus shrugged.
Noah ignored him as his eyes continued wandering around until he finally noticed the cute cottage standing at the center of the land.
It was beautiful.
The canopy of trees surrounded it almost like a protective barrier, giving the entire cottage a magical appearance. Noah couldn’t help imagining a perfect family living there, children running around while their parents sat outside enjoying the peaceful afternoon.
A perfect happily-ever-after.
Of course, that was just some dumb fantasy that wasn’t going to happen to him anytime soon.
"What is on your mind?"
A tantalizing voice came from behind him, followed by a tongue sliding teasingly along his ear.
Noah shuddered and immediately turned around.
Crimson eyes stared directly into his.
Lysander had stopped right behind him.
"What is it?" Lysander asked with a teasing smile. "We are together already, and you accepted me as your mate, so you shouldn’t be shocked about this."
He deliberately played with his tongue as he spoke, and the movement only highlighted the man’s ridiculously sexy appearance.
Noah swallowed hard and quickly looked away, trying to bring his mind back to reality.
Why was this demon always doing things like this?
Lamia watched them from a short distance away, standing with his arms crossed.
"Don’t tell me you totally forgot that we ended up here because of your men."
Lamia smiled.
Noah rolled his eyes.
Lamia had always been dramatic one way or another.
"I’m just speechless about what I’m seeing," Noah stated.
A moan suddenly came from his side.
He stopped talking and looked over.
Eugene had dropped Rose onto a bed of smooth grass before arching his back and stretching his body. He rubbed his shoulders as though carrying her had nearly broken every bone in his body.
"That was a hell of a journey. No matter how lovely you are, Noah, I am never doing this again. She doesn’t even like me, so I don’t know why I even did this."
Eugene pouted while flexing his muscles in a very misleading manner.
He was obviously trying to prove how exhausted he was.
Unfortunately for him, Noah wasn’t looking at his muscles.
He was looking at the woman unconscious on the grass.
"So, who wants to come inside?" Lysander asked, pointing toward the cottage.
He began walking along a narrow path that stretched toward the building. Different mushrooms grew along both sides of it, their strange shapes and colors making them look almost beautiful.
Beautiful, definitely.
But Noah’s instincts immediately told him they were probably poisonous.
"Don’t inhale or touch any of those things," Lysander casually warned. "It’s what I used to kill my enemies without them knowing."
Damian, who had been leaning closer to inspect one of the mushrooms, immediately stopped.
He slowly pulled his hand back.
Marcus’s eyes widened in alarm.
At once, everyone stopped walking.
"What the fuck, Lysander? He could have died!" Noah reprimanded.
Lysander simply shrugged.
"Tell him maybe he shouldn’t just touch everything he sees, especially when he’s inside a stranger’s house."
Oliver nodded.
"That’s valid."
Lamia immediately glared at him.
Oliver blinked.
"Wait, what did I do that’s wrong now? I was just being rational. What he did was wrong. You can’t just go anywhere and pick whatever you like. It’s not even ethical."
He continued explaining himself to Lamia, but the witch had already turned away and continued walking.
Marcus stepped closer and casually placed an arm around Oliver’s shoulders.
"I’ve been there before. Don’t worry, it gets better. Just keep trying your best. I’m sure you’re going to woo him hard one day."
Oliver immediately facepalmed.
"That’s not what this is. He is my student, and I’m still his teacher."
The walk continued, with Marcus and Oliver remaining at the back.
"Well, it didn’t stop the others. I don’t know why yours should be different. Go harder next time, man. I’m sure you’ll get him one way or another. Just figure something out."
Marcus flashed him a little smile before increasing his pace.
Oliver sighed.
Why was he surrounded by lunatics?
He barely took another step before Damian suddenly crept behind him and placed both hands on his shoulders.
"Hi there, man!"
Oliver nearly jumped out of his skin.
"What the hell is wrong with you Moonlight Alphas?" he snapped. "I almost leaped out of my body!"
Damian laughed.
"What? I was just greeting you."
"Don’t greet people like that!"
"Why not?"
"Because people have hearts!"
Damian only laughed harder.
"Oh, that shouldn’t scare you that much, especially considering you’re a witch."
Oliver froze.
He stared at Damian.
Was that supposed to be an insult?
Were witches some kind of monsters that weren’t supposed to get scared or something?
Because that was absolute bullshit.
"Please, can you give me a moment?" Oliver muttered.
He was about to say something else when Damian suddenly gave him a mischievous smile.
"You want Papi to come to you? I can call Lamia right now. He needs to come and look after Papi."
Damian disappeared before Oliver could respond.
Oliver stood there in complete silence.
His face slowly turned red.
"What the fuck..."
Marcus nearly choked from laughing.
Finally, they reached the cottage.
Eugene carried Rose the rest of the way before dropping her carefully onto another bed that had mysteriously appeared right at the cottage entrance.
Noah stared at it.
"This is creepy. Where did that bed come from? Shouldn’t you at least confirm things before you drop Rose on them?"
He looked between Eugene and Lysander.
Lysander tapped his fingers together.
"I conjured the bed to help Eugene. And like I said, this is my domain. No form of danger will reach you here. As long as you don’t wander off into places that don’t concern you, you’re safe."
Noah arched his brows.
"What does that mean? Is there some hidden danger here that we’re not supposed to find?"
Lysander didn’t answer.
Instead, he clapped his hands.
Instantly, the cottage brightened.
Lights appeared throughout the area, illuminating the beautiful surroundings. Butterflies fluttered around in clusters, their glowing wings making the place look almost like something from a dream.
Noah stared.
"This place is actually beautiful."
"Of course it is," Lysander said proudly.
He opened the door.
"Step inside. Choose your rooms and stay together however you want."
He paused.
"But Noah right here gets to stay with me."
He smiled.
"Oh, silly me. I meant Ashton."
The room immediately went silent.
Noah’s face turned pale.
Fuck.
He hoped they wouldn’t notice the switch between his names.
But strangely, that didn’t seem to be what bothered them.
Killian, who had been suspicious of Lysander from the beginning, immediately stepped forward and took Noah’s hand.
"That’s a big no."
Lysander raised a brow.
"Excuse me?"
"Noah is staying with us. Or better still, we all stay together and no one gets to have him."
Marcus nodded.
"That works."
Damian nodded too.
"I agree."
Eugene smiled.
"Same."
Noah stared at all four of them.
"If it’s about sharing, we can share him together."
There was a long pause.
Noah’s face burned hotter than a hot plate.
Why the hell were they talking about him like he was some sort of communal property?
Lamia finally cleared his throat, bringing whatever little decorum remained back into the conversation.
"This isn’t a honeymoon."
He looked at all five men.
"If you want to share a room, be my guest. Gosh, you are all grown men. What’s the worst that could happen?"
Noah slowly turned his head toward him.
Lamia.
You have absolutely no idea what you just said.
Because that turned out to be Noah’s worst reality.
Five Alphas.
One room.
And apparently, all of them were perfectly comfortable with the idea.
Noah swallowed.
God help him.
His body.
His soul.
And whatever sanity he had left.
Because something told him that surviving monsters had been easier than surviving five possessive Alphas under the same roof.
