Time Travel: The Heroine Has Arrived!
Chapter 2008: Miserable Fiancée vs. Lady from a Wealthy Family (Part 43)
The Old Prince felt a little dazed.
He thought he’d taken a bit too much of a shock today.
First, the heat toxin that had plagued his son for years was just... cured like that. He still hadn’t come down from that wild joy when his son then told him that, oh right, the daughter‑in‑law he’d been thinking of for years seemed to be about to appear as well.
Qi Chengxuan saw his father’s blank expression and thought his father disagreed.
He hurriedly said, "In past years I never mentioned marriage for two reasons: first, with a body like mine, when even the future was uncertain, I truly didn’t want to ruin some girl’s life; second, in these past twenty‑odd years, I’ve never once met a girl I wanted to spend my whole life with."
"So, Divine Doctor Chang is the girl you’ve set your heart on, the one you want to spend your life with?" Old Prince Ping finished his sentence for him.
Qi Chengxuan quickly nodded.
Old Prince Ping’s expression turned a bit subtle.
Qi Chengxuan couldn’t quite read what was going on in his father’s mind and couldn’t help feeling a bit uneasy.
Seeing his son like this, Old Prince Ping’s heart stirred. He suddenly asked, "If I don’t agree, what will you do?"
Qi Chengxuan carefully glanced at Old Prince Ping, really unable to read any joy or anger.
He thought for a moment and answered, "Then I simply won’t marry."
Old Prince Ping frowned; he felt his son wasn’t the sort to give up so easily.
Sure enough, the next moment he heard Qi Chengxuan say, "Then I’ll devote myself to serving Father until your final years. After a hundred years have passed, we’ll pick a child from a collateral branch to take care of me in my old age and see me off."
The meaning was: if I marry, I’ll only marry her.
If you won’t let me marry her, then I’ll marry no one.
Old Prince Ping was so angry he laughed.
He scolded, "You brat! Where did you pick up that rotten temper?"
Qi Chengxuan thought to himself, Didn’t I grow up being raised by you?
Just then, someone knocked on the door from outside.
Old Prince Ping and Qi Chengxuan simultaneously dropped the topic, both of them calmly watching as Gu Shengyin came in carrying the freshly brewed tea.
Gu Shengyin glanced at the two of them and just felt like something she didn’t know about had happened.
But father and son talk isn’t something she’s interested in eavesdropping on anyway.
She handed the tea to the Old Prince, then gave Qi Chengxuan a cup as well, before finally picking up her own cup and slowly sipping.
Old Prince Ping lifted his teacup, extremely intrigued.
The first thing that caught his eye was a large blooming rose flower. Every petal was clearly defined and full, as if it were still flourishing on the branch, just as gorgeous.
Then he looked at the tea itself—clear with a hint of deep green, the kind of color only top‑quality water can bring out.
Just the look of it was enough to earn a word of praise.
Old Prince Ping took a light sip.
His eyes lit up.
Whether it was just in his head or not, he felt as if something incredibly cool and soothing was traveling into his body along with the tea. The weariness that had grown heavier with age was suddenly swept away, leaving him clear‑headed and refreshed.
His gaze flickered with surprise as he took several more sips in succession, and soon the cup was emptied.
Old Prince Ping only felt his whole body relaxed and comfortable. This feeling could only remind him of his younger days, when he finished a set of punches alone on the training grounds, that wonderful sense of every pore opening up to breathe.
He looked at Gu Shengyin in amazement. "This tea of yours, Divine Doctor Chang?"
Gu Shengyin smiled slightly. "Just a bit of petty trickery. Taken over the long term, it can help nourish the body."
She added, "Especially for someone like the Old Prince, whose body carries hidden injuries from his younger years."

Six thousand... I was too naïve. I thought I could fight on for another four thousand, but clearly I can’t finish ==
Tomorrow... we’ll see. If I’m better I’ll update normally; if not I’ll go get an IV drip, okay? If there’s no regular update by [6 p.m.], I’ll put a pinned notice in the book review section.
Good night, everyone.
