Time Travel: The Best Doctor in Ancient Times
Chapter 2100 - 1668: Is This Digging or Smashing a Hole?
Snake Piaopiao just had to think that her mission of guarding the Divine Weapon Forging Tower might really have reached its end, that she could finally regain her freedom, and she instantly got wildly excited!
In that rush of excitement, she gave Gu Changsheng a hug!
And it was that hug that made Gu Changsheng realize there’s actually a reason women like men—because when two chests collide, someone’s gonna get hurt. She only just figured that out now!
Once Snake Piaopiao let go, Gu Changsheng clutched her chest and took quite a while to catch her breath before finally recovering.
"You! You’re the Angel sent by the Deity to save this snake! An Angel!"
Snake Piaopiao, on the other hand, was still immersed in her surprise and joy, unable to extricate herself.
Only, when she heard Snake Piaopiao say that, Gu Changsheng was really not impressed. Angel? Angel-shit?
Give it a rest. This Snake Spirit Disease’s way of talking is seriously unpleasant!
"The pity is, although I opened the restriction outside, I still can’t open the door of the Divine Weapon Forging Tower. As long as the tower door of the Divine Weapon Forging Tower remains closed, your mission doesn’t really count as finished!" As someone who’d been tormented by Snake Piaopiao, Gu Changsheng just couldn’t resist pouring a whole bucket of cold water over her head.
Damn it, a perfectly good Snake Spirit Disease, guarding this place is great, no?
Looking like that, if she regains her freedom and goes out, won’t she scare someone to death?
Gu Changsheng honestly didn’t care at all whether Snake Piaopiao completed her mission or whatever. What she cared about was: how to open the Divine Weapon Forgging Tower!
"That’s easy! Just find the Deity’s believers and use their blood as a sacrifice, then we can open the tower door of the Divine Weapon Forging Tower!" Snake Piaopiao, in contrast to Gu Changsheng’s concern, was totally unconcerned, speaking with a face full of nonchalance.
"You make it sound easy. Only Godfather knows what kind of Ghost this ’Deity’ you’re talking about even is, or where we’re supposed to find her believers!" Hearing that, Gu Changsheng rolled her eyes hard. Snake Piaopiao was really taking things for granted, wasn’t she?
If the tower door of the Divine Weapon Forging Tower were that easy to open, would it still be the Divine Weapon Forging Tower?
"Are you stupid?" Snake Piaopiao shot back as soon as she heard Gu Changsheng’s words.
"You’re the stupid one!" Gu Changsheng glared. Damn it, this Snake Spirit Disease actually knows how to argue—seriously unbelievable.
"Did you forget where this is? This is the Divine Mount Qilian! It’s within Northern Mongolian territory! The people of Northern Mongolian worship the Moon God as their Deity, and Divine Mount Qilian is no exception! A Deity appearing here can only be the Moon God, or someone under the Moon God’s seat! And those who come and go at Divine Mount Qilian are, like eight or nine out of ten, all Northern Mongolian people. As long as we find them and collect enough blood for the sacrifice, we can use the Power of Faith to open this Divine Weapon Forging Tower that’s been sealed for who knows how many ages!" Snake Piaopiao spoke while throwing a hand back and pointing to the cliff, at the carved tower door, her expression absolutely certain.
Hearing this, Gu Changsheng exchanged a look with her own evildoer, pondered a bit in her heart, and couldn’t help nodding. "What you’re saying does sound kind of reasonable..."
It was true that like eight or nine out of ten people here worship the Moon God...
Of course, in Northern Mongolian, the Moon God isn’t called Moon God, but Longevity Heaven!
But that’s not the point. The point is, as long as she can open the gate of the Divine Weapon Forging Tower, she doesn’t care what kind of Ghost they worship!
She just needs to enter the Divine Weapon Forging Tower and find the second Cold Iron Key!
"So, Snake Spirit Disease, do you know what you’ve done?" Gu Changsheng slowly raised her head, staring at Snake Piaopiao with a resentful look, and spoke haltingly.
"What has this snake done?" Snake Piaopiao was baffled by Gu Changsheng’s stare. She didn’t seem to have done anything wrong, right? Even though she’d been starving at the very beginning and hadn’t thought of the most important thing, swallowing these two people in one gulp—she spat them back out afterward, didn’t she?
Gu Changsheng’s gaze shifted to that chaotic world opposite the Divine Weapon Forging Tower. She raised a hand and pointed, speaking dully, "You wrecked the cave, and beyond that cave, there isn’t much else—except lots of people!"
Right now, Gu Changsheng suddenly felt that Jin Luoyi gathering those hundred-some people as his human shields was actually an incredibly wise and heroic move. It saved her the trouble of going out to find people to cause trouble for!
But with the human trouble gone, other troubles arrived. With the cave completely destroyed by Snake Piaopiao’s true body, how were they supposed to deal with that?
How were the people outside supposed to get in?
After passing through that Misty Prohibition and before pulling the last Black Man Duo Shu inside, Gu Changsheng had already noticed that the Misty Prohibition was showing signs of collapsing. It probably wouldn’t be long before it vanished. Then Jin Luoyi and the others would naturally be able to enter!
But now, thanks to Snake Piaopiao, the cave had been sealed completely. If they wanted to come in again, who knew what year and month that would be. Gu Changsheng couldn’t wait that long!
"That’s easy. This snake will change into the form of my true body, then just tunnel the cave back open!" Snake Piaopiao patted her chest, her pointy face full of proud arrogance. "Leave this to me!"
"Huh?" Hearing that, Gu Changsheng’s eyes went wide. In fact, she had already rolled up her sleeves, ready to go all out and personally start hauling rocks. "You Snake Clan actually know how to dig tunnels?"
"If we didn’t dig tunnels, where would we live?" Snake Piaopiao immediately gave Gu Changsheng a look that clearly said, ’You really are stupid.’
Gu Changsheng regretted the question as soon as it left her mouth, and when she then received Snake Piaopiao’s contemptuous gaze, she suddenly felt a bit internally injured!
You know how it is—stay around someone sick for too long, and a perfectly normal person will start acting weird. That’s what they mean by ’near cinnabar you turn red, near ink you turn black.’ Look at her: she’s been hanging around this brainless Snake Spirit Disease so long she’s about to lose her own brain!
"Fine, you go then. I’ll leave the tunneling to you. Honestly, we humans really aren’t that good at this sort of thing!" She waved her hand, and Gu Changsheng immediately decided to sit back and enjoy the results.
With someone happy to do the job, she’d have to be stupid to start swinging her own arms around!
"Just you wait and see!" Snake Piaopiao answered, raised her hand, about to transform, but then blankly turned her head back. "Uh, those people outside... can I eat them?"
"You can. Once we’ve used up their blood, you can eat whoever you want, totally up to you."
Gu Changsheng nodded. As for those Treasure Hunters, Gu Changsheng couldn’t care less whether they lived or died. If you’ve got the guts to come treasure hunting in a place like this, you’d better be prepared to die at any time.
She’d already dodged the fate of being eaten; was she supposed to play Guanyin Bodhisattva and save people from the snake’s mouth?
Come on, give it a rest—she wasn’t nearly that kind-hearted!
"Great! Then this snake will go right now!"
Hearing that, Snake Piaopiao instantly got even happier. Her figure shimmered, and in the blink of an eye the beauty with the rosy cheeks turned into a giant serpent!
The snake was so huge that even with Gu Changsheng’s quick reflexes, if she hadn’t run fast enough, she would’ve been squashed to death by Snake Piaopiao’s transformed body!
"What the hell! Watch what you’re doing, will you? You almost crushed me!" Gu Changsheng jumped, then darted over to stand by her evildoer. Staring at the snake in front of her that was basically a mountain in serpent form, she was completely dumbfounded!
Godfather, is this even still a snake?
How can there be a snake this big?
That size... it’s basically the ancestor of all snakes. If you put her own Soul-Devouring Python next to this one, it’d probably barely match a single segment of this thing’s tail!
"Sorry, this snake wasn’t paying attention for a moment!"
Snake Piaopiao’s voice drifted out faintly from somewhere in her belly, giving Gu Changsheng cold sweat all over.
Fine, she really was that Snake Spirit Disease!
Faced with such a colossal thing, even if Gu Changsheng wouldn’t admit it out loud, she still preferred the busty, wasp-waisted, pointy-chinned Snake Spirit Disease form, because this true body of hers was honestly a little too damn terrifying!
"It’s fine, it’s fine! Business first. Hurry up and blast a hole, get those people outside in here to donate blood!" She waved her hand, Gu Changsheng looking totally unconcerned. Since she hadn’t actually been crushed to death, she needed to speak nicely to the free labor at a time like this!
"Alright!"
Snake Piaopiao, practically filling the entire open space, agreed. Her tail twisted, she turned her head, and then rammed straight toward that chaotic pile of rocks...
Yep!
You’re not seeing things!
She literally rammed it!
The moment that huge head slammed into the rocks, sand and stones flew everywhere, total chickens-flying-dogs-jumping chaos!
Already stunned stupid by Snake Piaopiao’s move, Gu Changsheng was dragged back in a hurry by Zhou Mu. Only when they had retreated all the way to the entrance of the Divine Weapon Forging Tower did they escape being buried under the shower of flying debris.
"She... she... she calls that knowing how to dig a hole?"
Gu Changsheng watched the sand and rocks flying. When the dust finally settled, there was now a huge cave mouth in the mountainside. She stared, dumb as if struck by lightning, and spoke dazedly.
This fucker is what you call digging?
You call this digging?
Is *this* how caves are dug?
So crude and straightforward—did you even ask the cave how it felt?
This wasn’t digging at all, this was clearly Snake Piaopiao just brute-forcing a hole into the mountain, okay?
That iron-head skill, seriously no one can beat it. Gu Changsheng couldn’t help feeling sorry for Snake Piaopiao’s poor snake head...
"You, honestly..." Looking at the little woman in his arms who could buddy up with a bizarre Snake Spirit like it was nothing, Zhou Mu really didn’t know what to say. He wanted to say, "Those who are not our kind must have different hearts," but then thought that sounded off, so in the end he just lifted his hand and rubbed Gu Changsheng’s forehead without saying anything more.
"Evildoer, I finally know why we ended up crawling into that Snake Spirit Disease’s mouth. Did you see her mouth just now? So big, so big, insanely big! It looks *exactly* like that cave, seriously!" In that pitch-dark situation, as if they could have seen the cave turn into a snake mouth; crawling in wasn’t that surprising after all!
But the next second, Gu Changsheng’s eyes went wide. She suddenly wriggled out of Zhou Mu’s arms and sprinted toward the hole Snake Piaopiao had just bashed open. "Crap, crap! I forgot about Shi Wujue and the others! If Snake Spirit Disease just headbutts her way in there, who knows what’ll get smashed to pieces—she might even swallow them!"
