Chapter 783 - High Praises
As impressed as Yvonne was with Cecily's dress, whether it was suitable for someone of her age was a whole different matter.
After all, the style of the stunning gown was something worn by older women, certainly not an optimum choice for a tea party meant for children.
However, looking at the confidence radiating from Cecily's demeanor, Yvonne chose to keep her thoughts to herself even when this would be a difficult task for her.
She was once someone who held a position where she could say the first thing that came to her mind and not worry about the consequences.
This made her the perfect fit for being a judge on the talent show, 'The Dreamer' and that was also a place where her discerning eye was also most used.
'Oh, how I miss the privilege of speaking my mind…' She lamented as she had taken it for granted and was now in a place where she had to be careful about every word she uttered.
Therefore, despite having different thoughts about the mature styled dress Cecily had worn today, Yvonne chose to keep her silence rather than bringing herself troubles by commenting on it.
She had made the right decision as Cecily Yona was proud of the way she looked today, beautiful and confident, and would not have heard otherwise.
While Yvonne was still observing their choice of clothing, the two girls had already come over and greeted the Princess respectfully.
"Miss Leopold's dress is magnificent." She heard the Princess exclaim and those sparkling blue eyes conveyed that she had uttered no false word.
'And that is why I chose not to wear pink.' Yvonne sighed inwardly as she could have also received the same amount of attention that Elna was gaining from the Princess right now.
Princess Felicia was wearing a pretty dusty rose pink gown which seemed to have been made exclusively for the young girl and now beside her was Elna whose bright magenta pink dress was also pretty in its own right.
These were the only two shades of pink dresses in the group, making Yvonne wonder if the others knew of the Princess's adoration of this color.
Indeed, the other girls had an idea of Princess Felicia's love for pink and had chosen not to wear it to be respectful towards her.
They assumed that the Princess might be annoyed if she saw them wearing the same colored dress but they were wrong after witnessing the high praises that Elna Leopold was gaining right at this moment.
This was making a few of them regretful for having worn a different color, vowing to rectify this mistake if they ever got another chance to meet the Princess in the future.
Only Yvonne was pleased with what she had worn today as doing so had made it possible for her to stand silently in a corner and not get too involved in the discussion taking place right now.
She had greeted the Princess and the other girls so no one could point out any flaw in her even if they noticed that she had not uttered a single word after that.
The Jorbin triplets all wore sky blue dresses of the same design today which was once again reminding Yvonne of a certain pair of twins in the movie she had watched in the past.
'As long as they do not speak at the same time.' She calmed her mind and decided not to think about that scene any longer.
The triplets were just two years older than her so it was easy for her to get along with them and even Aleena was seen standing next to them.
Isadora Carter had a good impression of Yvonne after meeting her a few times recently and chose to be with this group as well.
On the other hand, the Princess was being surrounded by Rika, Glennise, Elna, and Mae Blaise while Cecily was seen standing with the two older girls of the Carter family.
Now that everyone had arrived, Governess Bloom stepped forward and whispered to the Princess that they could begin the tea party.
The girls were all excited to be able to spend time with the Princess and their happy smiles proved the same.
Every day, Princess Felicia and her two best friends would occupy the table at the Pavilion constructed in the Rose Palace for tea after their classes with the Royal Tutor.
However, that place could not accommodate the number of girls who had been invited today so the Governess and the Royal Steward had prepared another special place for them.
Yvonne had been to the greenhouse in the Rose Palace the last time she had been here so she too was curious about this new place.
Under the guidance of their host, the girls headed a little away from where they stood in the garden.
Walking next to Yvonne was Aleena whose face was grimacing in frustration with every step she took.
"Hmm?" She inquired while following her neighbor's line of sight which was aimed at her feet.
"They sink in," Aleena whispered, grumbling her complaint close to the younger girl's ear.
Yvonne giggled after hearing this which only made Aleena glare at her.
Right now, the Princess was walking in the front with her playmates while these two girls were at the end of the group.
Thus she did not hide her amusement when she heard Aleena's issues.
They were walking through the garden with no stone path so it was obvious that they would face an issue with their heels sinking into the grass.
Most of the girls had worn heels today, especially Cecily Yona who was the tallest here and also the one with the highest heel.
So it was safe for Yvonne to assume that almost everyone was facing the same difficulty.
'Not me.' She shook her head because she had been trained relentlessly for the times when she walked on the runway as a model during her young adult life.
The entertainment company she had signed with at that time had hired mentors for her, people who were veterans in the field of modeling, to teach her the way of a model's life.
During these training sessions, she had learned how to maintain her body posture and look elegant no matter what kind of heels she was wearing or what surface she was walking on.
The brutal training of her grandfather when she was younger had come in handy here as she had excellent core strength which allowed her to master these skills in a very short period of time.
Therefore, when the other girls were walking in an awkward manner, trying to stop their feet from sinking into the grass, Yvonne was doing the same but without any effort.
It was something that came naturally to her, not to mention that the shoes she was wearing today were the most comfortable ones she owned.
This only made it easier for her to walk without facing the same issues as Aleena and the rest.
Glancing sideways, she decided that maybe it would be alright for her to impart some of her knowledge to the girl next to her.
These girls could walk elegantly on flat surfaces like the hard floors inside their homes or even the streets outside but they had never been taught to walk on the grass.
Thus, Yvonne did not hide her knowledge and whispered something into the other girl's ear.
"Chin up,"
"Suck your belly in,"
"Now focus your body's weight on the ball of your feet rather than on your heels."
Aleena was already used to listening to the advice of this younger girl by now so she followed the instructions being whispered in her ear.
A gasp soon left her lips when she felt her body not being able to hold steady, widening her eyes for fear of tripping over.
However, before her body could even lean sideways, a dainty pair of hands held onto her arm, helping her steady herself.
Aleena looked at the hands then at the person who had caught her almost immediately.
"You can lean on me until you can walk perfectly." Yvonne smiled while assuring that she would not let the other person fall.
Though Aleena's heels weren't too high, she was still young and had zero stamina and core strength, something which Yvonne possessed after years of training with the Captain.
Therefore, she did not look down at her when she did not succeed on the first attempt but promised to keep her from falling until she was ready to walk on her own.
Hearing this, Aleena's lips curved into a smile which revealed the warmth spreading through her heart, and accepted the helping hand extended towards her.
