Chapter 768 - Yvonne's Anger
Howard was too stunned to move in that instant so before he could even react, his sister had been shoved aside.
Yvonne's mind had been on the matter concerning Marchioness Jorbin, thus, she had only caught sight of this moving object when it was already too close to her.
Half her body had leaned sideways but, thankfully, her stumbling feet had managed to steady themselves before she experienced the fall.
However, there was someone who would have caught her even if she would have tripped and fallen.
Topher had not yet included himself into this circle and after he had reprimanded Cecily, was quietly observing his surroundings.
This made it easy for him to notice the hasty figure who was heading in their direction.
What he had not expected to see was that this figure had rushed in such a way that it was inevitable for them to crash into Yvonne St. Claire.
If this was done with the intention of making her stumble so that she might make a fool out of herself then they would have surely succeeded, if only she was not being trained under Captain Desmo Reel.
That man was someone who taught his pupils the importance of standing up after taking a fall.
To achieve this, he would do his best to knock them off their feet.
When Topher had sparred with Yvonne, he was sure that she had also received the same training which had allowed her to maintain her balance while fighting him.
Therefore, he was confident that she could steady herself after being pushed by this figure yet his hands moved on instinct to protect her from the fall.
Thankfully, his thoughtful gesture was not needed as she had done so herself without the need for anyone else to save her.
However, glancing down at his empty palm, Topher frowned at the sudden sense of loss he was experiencing but soon shook his head to toss this strange sensation out of his mind.
He looked up and stared at the person who had caused this mess, not surprised to find that everyone else was doing the same.
Yvonne's glare was the most evident as she did not even attempt to conceal her anger before the others.
"Does Young Master Jorbin know how to utilize those organs known as eyes or are they just pretty-looking embellishments?" She snapped at the young boy who was now next to her.
Lyon Jorbin, the only son of Marquess Jorbin was the one who had rushed in, almost knocking Yvonne off her feet a moment ago.
Therefore, no one felt that her words were excessive after what she had experienced due to the inconsiderate actions of this young boy.
Topher's dazed mind had cleared up when he heard these sardonic words and a chortle left his lips even before he had realized it.
Taylor glared at his brother who was having a fun time when his Vonny could have gotten hurt earlier.
Yvonne on the other hand had no time to notice the daggers the Tanner siblings were now shooting at each other.
Her attention was focused on the young boy who was now standing between her and her elder brother.
"Oh, I did not see you there." Lyon Jorbin muttered indifferently before turning his back towards her.
His lack of remorse for what he had just caused combined with the disrespectful way he had just spoken to her resulted in her eyes narrowing at him, boring holes in the back of his head.
The only son of the Jorbin family was pampered beyond compare which allowed him to behave as he pleased.
No one dared to chide him at home, being the youngest of four in the family, however, Yvonne did not care about any of this.
He was just a year older than her and she was not related to him which signified that she did not have to treat him like he was something precious to her.
Lyon Jorbin was just another boy belonging to just another noble family to her and she need not be subservient to him in any way.
While Yvonne was seething in anger at what she had just experienced, Lyon had a pleasant smile as he greeted the one he had come here for.
"How have you been, Young Master Howard?" He inquired, gazing at the older boy standing before him with twinkling eyes.
Ever since Howard had rescued him from those bullies at the King's birthday celebration a few years ago, this young boy had vowed to follow him around.
He joined the Royal Academy to be near the older boy and even spent his free time following Howard who was often with Taylor.
Lyon, who wished to become strong like Howard, started treating him as his idol and attempted to follow in his footsteps.
While Howard did not mind being followed around, he did not appreciate what had just taken place.
Therefore, with a fierce look in his eyes, he glared at the younger boy before scanning his sister to make sure that she was fine.
"You should be more courteous towards younger girls, Master Jorbin." He lectured like a good elder and role model.
Taylor choked at these righteous words coming from the mouth of the young boy who never treated any girl in that way.
'Well, Vonny is obviously an exception.' He added as Howard was kind and caring only towards his baby sister.
However, he could not expose his best friend right now so he nodded in acceptance of what had just been said.
Lyon Jorbin admired Howard and after spending some time with Taylor, had come to like him as a person too.
Thus when he saw their attitude towards what had taken place, he decided that taking a step back would be the right thing to do for him right now.
Having come to this conclusion, he turned towards the girl whom he had just pushed and smiled sweetly.
"I should have been more careful, Miss." He apologized without appearing to be ashamed that he was bowing down to a younger girl.
'But I still do not like you.' His inner thoughts were contradicting his facial expressions but no one had any clue of this yet.
Yvonne was a master of keeping up a business smile so she knew one when she saw one.
This was enough for her to deduce that the young boy who had just apologized was not someone who had a favorable opinion about her.
She had only seen him once before and this was the first time they had interacted with each other.
However, it was clear to her that their relationship would be anything but smooth sailing.
Not wishing to prolong this incident any longer, she only nodded her head in acceptance of his half-hearted apology.
Now that this issue had been solved, Taylor hoped to reignite the conversation that had died due to the uninvited appearance of the other boys.
However, before he could utter a single word, more people had come over to their location.
"Who would have thought that we would see the day when Ly would apologize to someone." A sarcastic voice made them turn around.
Lyon sulked at the words coming from the one standing in the middle of the group of three.
'Melissa, Martha, and Moana.' Yvonne recalled the names of the three girls who were now standing before them.
These were the older sisters of the heir of the Jorbin family who also happened to be triplets.
Their appearances were similar and the clothes they wore were also of the same design.
The only way to differentiate between the three was the slight variation in the color of their eyes.
The three girls first smiled at their little brother before focusing their eyes on the one to whom he had just apologized.
When their family had just entered the garden, Lyon had scurried away as soon as he had greeted the host's family.
They had a good idea of where he was heading and had thus followed after him a few seconds later.
They were young misses and running around would be inappropriate so they could only walk at a slow pace, making their way towards him.
This distance between them allowed the triplets to have the perfect view of what had just taken place.
From Lyon shoving that young girl aside to how she had reprimanded him.
They had seen everything and were waiting to see how he would react thus were stunned to see what happened next.
'He listens to the elder brother but dislikes the younger sister.' The triplets were able to read his expressions effortlessly after years of living together.
With this information, they knew exactly what was on his mind when he had apologized to that girl despite being reluctant to do so.
