Chapter 478 - Your Loyal Citizen
'Too shallow?' Yvonne's wide eyes were filled with questions as she alternated her eyes between her father and her brother.
Howard rinsed the sweet plums and brought them back for her but she had not yet snapped out of her complicated thoughts.
'Then what the heck was that!?' She narrowed her eyes while thinking back to her first and only encounter with the male lead of the script that she was living in.
It was as though that moment was imprinted in her mind for she could still hear the terrified screams of the young boy as he cried out for help while drowning in the stream.
Ignoring her brother's outstretched hand with the plums in it, she turned towards the one person who could clarify things right now.
"Has it always been shallow?" She questioned and just as she realized how dumb her doubt was, her father nodded his head.
"I used to play in that stream all the time." He added to prove the validity of his words and even went on to elaborate that the water would reach Howard's chest if he were to enter the stream.
'Did that Male lead not know that?' Yvonne's doubtful eyes were laced with ridicule as she realized what must have happened.
The Male lead who was frightened for the safety of his life had not realized that the stream was shallow and therefore, had to be saved by a girl younger than him.
This made the little girl who had pulled him out of the stream around this time last year snicker as a gloating look flashed across her eyes before it faded away.
Though the parents and brother did not understand what had brought about that sudden laughter, they were dazed to see how her face lit up when she laughed.
'I wonder what he would think if he was told about this?' She sneered at the overconfident and proud Crown Prince around whom the entire script revolved.
___
Right at this moment, that very same Prince who was yet to be named Crown Prince sneezed and sniffled his nose.
"Are you feeling alright?" The man sitting next to him touched his forehead and sighed when the temperature was normal.
"I feel fine, Father." Prince Fritzen smiled at his father's kind gesture before returning to his home assignments.
Though being the ruler of the land, King Ophire made sure to spend time with his children and be an active parent during their growing years.
Therefore, right now, two young children were sitting around him in the Pavilion as they each did their work in silence.
The King was going through documents that needed his approval while Prince Fritzen was completing his home assignments given by the tutors at the Royal Academy.
On the other side sat the little Princess, memorizing the study materials that the Royal Tutor, Marquess Samed had given to her before he headed to his fief for the Summer.
The only one missing was the King's younger brother who had other matters to deal with.
'I hope he is doing fine.' King Ophire sighed while basking in the sun's warm rays which were rare to experience in the place where his younger brother was currently residing.
"Papa is not working." The little girl's accusing words reached his ears which made him cough in embarrassment before he glanced at the narrowed eyes of his precious child.
"Yes yes, my Princess." King Ophire nodded and lowered his head to look into the files his aide had placed on the table before him.
Observing her father for a few more seconds to ensure that he was working, Princess Felicia huffed before returning to the pile of notes that Marquess Samed had left for her to memorize and prepare by the time he returned to the Capital.
'She's adorable.' King Ophire smiled with his head lowered as he could feel her glare that lasted for a few seconds before it was directed at the materials in her lap.
Shaking his head at her actions, he decided to get back to work this time without getting distracted.
The pile before him was the documents that needed the King's Royal Seal.
Most of them belonged to the land taxes that the nobles paid each year; however, one among them was different and something that he would soon be interested in and invested in.
As time passed, King Ophire completed half the documents present in the pile and decided to take a break.
The servants brought out snacks and tea for him and his children as they relaxed for a while before they could get back to work.
"Father, when will Uncle get back?" Princess Felicia inquired after taking a sip of the warm milk tea the chef had prepared specially for her.
King Ophire smiled at his daughter who was interested to know more about his little brother, Draco's itinerary.
For this matter of fact, even Prince Fritzen was curious as he liked to spar with his Uncle frequently.
He believed that facing a stronger opponent made him strive to be better hence he always challenged his Uncle to a duel to improve his own abilities.
"He should be here in a few weeks." The King answered after thinking of the letter that had arrived a few days ago, informing him of a delayed return.
The Royal siblings nodded their heads and went back to finishing their home assignments once their break time had come to an end.
The King picked up the next envelope which held the documents requiring his Royal seal.
Inside this envelope, he found the certificate of establishment of business, the document concerning the sale of rights for a product, and finally a letter.
His brows raised once he began reading the document that required his Royal Seal for the ownership rights of a certain product.
'Interesting.' He smirked as what was written in here was concerning matters that had been on his mind for quite a while now.
Once he was done perusing through this file, he pondered over what needed to be done with it.
'Looks like Earl Blaise is in for the shock of his life.' He snickered, distracting his children who had been paying attention to the work before them.
Shaking his head at their intrigued faces, he gestured for them to continue before glancing at the files in his hands.
His eyes then drifted to the letter that had been attached at the end of the documents which had been addressed to him, something that not many people dared to do.
However, he was not offended in the least bit as the contents of the letter had caught his attention.
{Greetings Your Majesty,
CLOVER has a new method and business plan to sell soap which will be available to the commoners at a much cheaper price.
Please think about the safety of your people and give us your kind approval.
Your loyal citizen,
VC}
The penmanship indicated that the one who had written this letter had a great command over his writing and he was confident in his strokes.
The signature of the man using the initials VC was also distinct and beautifully created.
This showed that whoever this man was who wished to remain anonymous was someone who was well taught and had a keen sense of business.
The details in the document had all been verified before they could be sent to the King so he did not question its authenticity.
The certification of the business named CLOVER was credible which made things easier to move forward.
Mulling over everything he had found inside the envelope, King Ophire felt elated as one of his biggest worries over the last few months could be resolved using the files he had received today.
Picking up his Royal Seal, he stamped it on the document of ownership for the recipe of soap belonging to a commoner family being sold to the company named CLOVER.
His bright blue eyes were fixed on the name of the company, interested to see how things would turn out to be from this day on.
'VC, be sure to do a good job with this.' He tapped his finger on the documents before placing them back into the envelope.
With a sly grin on his face, he turned to the next file and began going through them; however, his smile never faded as he thought of the storm that would soon be hitting Earl Blaise's most profitable business.
