Chapter 450 - Yvonne's Theory
Once Yvonne was done laughing to her heart's content at the poor state of that young man whose feelings were not reciprocated, she sighed and looked up at the sky.
The moon had disappeared completely and from the far east, she could see the traces of the morning's first rays beginning to appear.
Hoping to get off the ground, she dusted her palms which had grass and dirt stuck to them after uprooting those green and healthy blades of grass.
A massacre she had committed while visualizing them to be the Grand Duke's luscious blonde hair.
Huffing in anger at the thought of that spineless man, she stood up but did not take a step away.
She stood in the same spot and thought back to the events that later followed.
In her vision, she had seen how Adult Yvonne spent the next few days locked in her room and the only ones who had come over to the Mansion to visit her were Duke Tanner and Glennise Brodie.
Both of them were dissatisfied with the King's decree but dared not cause a fuss as that would be accounted as treason against His Majesty.
Glennise knew that just like Prince Fritzen whom she had fallen in love with, Grand Duke Roschester was also in love with that wretched Hilda.
She was heartbroken for her best friend who was being forced to marry the man who was already in love with another woman.
After she left, Duke Topher would ask for her company in the Parlor as meeting her in the bedroom was unacceptable.
'He worked hard.' The little girl nodded when she thought of how he would accompany her each day and try to cheer her up when she was down.
The Duke had somehow managed to convince Earl Howard and escorted Yvonne to a new place to help her overcome her gloomy dissatisfaction with the King's commands.
This place that he had brought her to was none other than the Valente fief.
The Tanner and Valente fiefs' borders were connected and thus the two Fief Lords were on friendly terms.
Duke Topher had visited this place often for business purposes and was familiar with the Valente twins.
Therefore, the Duke had brought her over here as he wished to show her a special place he had discovered during one of his visits.
When their carriage halted before the Valente Mansion, the twins were standing in wait for them.
Since Howard and Yvonne had not reconciled from their childhood days it was safe to assume that the St. Claires had not reconnected with the Valentes.
The little girl's doubts about this matter were cleared when she saw how Viscount Roman Valente in her vision had greeted her as though he was meeting her for the very first time.
'My biggest proof that Yvonne in the vision did not know about her cousins was when…' She scowled when she thought of what happened next in the vision.
Once Viscount Roman Valente completed greeting them, his younger brother, Knox had introduced himself after waking up from a stupor ever since he saw the young lady's face.
Knox did not hesitate to kiss Yvonne's hand after greeting her which made her frown but she held it in.
Adult Yvonne had never been this close to another man so she felt awkward while conversing with Knox who was speaking to her in such a charming manner.
After Duke Tanner's timely intervention, Viscount Roman chided his twin before leading them inside.
The little girl frowned when another thing came to her mind.
In the vision that she was experiencing, she saw how the current Butler she had seen was also present; however, he appeared to be too old.
The moment the old Butler saw Yvonne entering with Topher, he hurried forward to greet her.
"Madam, you have returned! Master waited for so long before he could no longer hang on." The Butler sobbed while speaking to her which confused Yvonne and Topher.
Viscount Roman apologized to them before asking another servant to take him back to his room.
Upon inquiry, Yvonne found out that this old man used to serve their Grandfather and he had mistaken her for their Grandmother who had died a long time ago.
Yvonne felt sorry for the old man and decided not to think too much about it as she had been mistaken for someone else.
However, now, the little girl knew why the Butler had thought that way.
'Adult me does resemble Grandma Hannah a lot.' Yvonne concluded after recalling this incident.
Duke Topher then took Yvonne to the pool below the waterfall which was the vision the little girl had seen when she had visited this place with her cousins.
'After she suggested that they shouldn't meet, he was still a gentleman.' Yvonne praised Topher who did not lose his temper at her.
Instead, he respected her decision though it hurt him immensely and he escorted her back to the Capital where Howard had begun preparations for her coming of age ceremony.
With this, Yvonne's visions, both at this pool and the one she had while dreaming came to an end.
Yesterday, she had only seen that short interaction between Adult Yvonne and Topher but in her dream, she had witnessed everything that led up to that event.
After reminiscing about the visions she had seen, Yvonne was now left to her own devices to figure out what they meant.
'These most certainly can't be this body's memories because everyone was already an adult.' She struck out the idea of these being memories of her current child-like body.
She then wondered whether they might be a premonition of what might happen in the future.
However, that did not feel right to her as many things were out of the ordinary.
Since she had taken over this body, she had already distanced herself from her fate of being Princess Felicia's best friend.
This was the biggest change she had noticed as in the vision, she was friends with Felicia and Glennise.
Not to mention that she had free entry into the Royal Palace, a place where she had never set foot until now.
'Nor do I wish to!' She sneered as the farther away she was from that place, the safer she would be.
The King in the vision had also mentioned that he had watched her growing up with his daughter but she had never done such a thing.
The next discrepancy she recognized was her relationship with her brother.
'Howard and I are close now which is contrary to what I saw in that vision.' She surmised and was happy that they cared and loved each other.
Even the matter with Topher was strange as until now, he had never treated her as anything out of the ordinary.
'Well, I am still a child right now…' She assumed that this might have a part to play in this matter.
Regardless of this fact, she was sure that the vision she had seen could not be a premonition of what might take place in the future.
'I made sure to stay away from the original script so there is no way that I could fall right back into it.' She was confident in her efforts until now.
The foundation for most of the interactions in the script, she had made sure to destroy so that she would not have any reason to be related to them.
Her playmate position was the largest contributor to her relationship with the main characters of the script and that she had rejected, placing herself far away from every single one of them.
Since she was sure that this was not a vision of the future, she began to look at it from a different direction.
'What if… Maybe… This was a part of the script that the stupid Blue bird did not write down?' She wondered whether this speculation held weight.
The vision she had seen had many indications which proved that it was following the script she had read in her office at Platina Entertainment.
However, never in the script was it mentioned that the King had called Yvonne and informed her about her union with Grand Duke Draco.
The script only mentioned that the King wished for his brother to marry Yvonne St. Claire and he had announced the same during her coming of age ceremony.
'The entire Tanner family was also never once mentioned in the script.' She recalled the next difference which only strengthened her assumptions.
